ActionScript 1/2 :: Sending Emails Linking To Outlook
Jul 9, 2009
I want the end user to have the ability to contact me directly from my website via email. When I test my button to pull up my email provided nothing happen. The button works but???? this.cont_btn.onRelease = function(){ getURL("[URL]");};
I am trying to get the email link on my contact page to open properly: [URL] I am using CS3 and actionscript 2 and followed the following method: I wrote the email address and in web link box in the properties panel typed: mailto: followed by the email address The target is set to blank. The problem is that I only want the email client box (usually Outlook) to open but instead I get a webpage opening as well
On a website I am constructing (search for World Tutors .net on Google and then click Test page next to Webmail at the bottom) I have a contact form with various parts for the user to fill in (some text input boxes, and some COMBO boxes). Having looked on various forums, I thought I undstood how to make the Flash Actionscript 2.0 talk to the php script to send the email (i.e. pass on variables etc.) When the user completes the Client enqiry form and clicks the send button, it looks as though the message has been sent, but no email ever arrives. I've pasted the code I have below.
Is it possible to have a button in my movie, that opens Outlook so we can send a email? And when outlook is open the correct e mail address is already set? Do I need php, or asp, or can I do this plain simple?
I wanted to know that using actionscript, is it possible to send email and create a front end in flashbuilder 4(flex), everywhere i see php being used for mails, is it possible?
My company emails our Flash EXE files out to customers. Most of these Flash files use keyboard events to navigate through them, and they load external SWF and video files. So, obviously, I have to package all of my movie files, SWF, and the main EXE into the same folder. In the past, they have simply Zipped the file, emailed it out, and told them which file to open. Sadly, even this is too complicated for some people. I need to simplify the process.
I am trying to find a way to take the entire folder and bundle it into a single EXE file. Also, I need to find a permanent solution for opening the main Flash EXE file in a MAXIMIZED window. I don't mean fullscreen. I mean MAXIMIZED. In fullscreen, keyboard events don't work. But, they do in a Maximized window.
i know the question has been posted before, but i can't seem to stop incoming emails from differentsections of the forum (1 seciton is the ACTION SCTIPT 3)Under email notifications, i currently see "recieve email notifications". I should see that and leave it that way, right?
I have made my contact form and it works, but I need some kind of script to work with the "email" text field. I need it to only send me mails with real email addresses. Btw. the form is off of this: [URL]
I want to open the oulook express/default mail client from my flash presentation. I ve one email link and I want on clicking on that link it should open the outlook express with same email add. in " To " field.
I want to send an email with special characters (like cyrillic) from a swf. To make sure it will be displayed correctly in the mail client, I use
encodeURI()
It works fine in Apple Mail, but in Outlook I only see gibberish. I learned that Outlook uses iso-8859-1 for "mailto:"-mails (at least by default). So two questions arise:
is there a way to encode the mailto: string in iso-8859-1? would this break the correct display of characters in other mail clients?
I am sure that the second question can not have a definitive answer, nevertheless I would be thankful for any advise.
EDIT: unfortunately, html email and php is not an option for me.
What I am trying to do.I have an email icon that when there is new messages would like to indicate the number of emails that are unread. this will simply be a number, that indicates how many unread messages
We pass in the number of unread messages to the flash object like a URL request string.

I make a html newsletter that I send by mail, In the html page there's a button flash made with flash CS4. When I send by email, and the receiver mail is hotmail or MS Outlook 2007, the button doesn't appears, there's no a message, nothing. I would like to know Why ?The html code where I add the button is that:
I would like to know if there is a way to drag and drop an attachment file from an outlook email that is open into an AIR application and for that file to be then accessible to the AIR application. When I experimented with this the drag operation is giving AIR a File Promise List. But I'm not exactly sure how to make use of it once it is dropped. All the examples out there explain how to manupilate File Promises from an AIR application to the desktop. Nothing that explains a file promise into an AIR app.
Some users may not have an email service available, so how can you best activate a prompt if they click on your email button that is using the below code in Flash: Code: on (release) { getURL("mailto:me@mywebsite.com"); }
I work with Flash 4. I've made a button and set Get URL as Properties. In this URL field I want to link an email adres including subject en text in the body field.For example, I've filled out the URL form like this.mailto:info@adayswork.nl?subject=hello&body=How are you. I am ok.
When you click on the button, Outlook opens and everything seems te work. But who knows how I can put an ENTER between How are you. and I am ok.I think it's something in the expression editor, but when I put an Enter between those 2 lines it still doesn't work.When I hit the New Line button in the expression field it seems to work but the words New Line won't dissappear in the Outlook window.
the project im working on is all database driven, there are no html files and all coding that is created is made by php then stored within a db to be called later on. now because of this i can't use relative links at all with anything i.e. images, videos and swf files.
so.....i am using swfobject to link to a swf file using absolute linking as shown in the coding below. but what i need to do now is link an .as file in my swf using absolute linking so i can call some arrays from the file.i have doubled checked to make sure my vars can be passed by local testing and it works but now i need it as absolute....is this possible?
I want to make a button, when clicked, open a blank email in outlook express to an email, with a subject.i take it you would use:[code] just wanted to show you what i meant! that was just a random stab.
So I have main .swf file(I'll call it movie1) that leads to webpages that are not in the movie. The webpage has a navbar which is a seperate .swf file (I'll call this movie2). I need the buttons on the navbar to link to a certain place in the main movie. Is there a way to use gotoAndplay in movie2 to go to a scene in movie1?
im wanting to link two swf files together but cant seem to get the code to work out correctly. I've created a button and a function that i want the code to go in to, so that once the button has been clicked it loads the second swf file. I've tried numerous things, such as getURL, loadMovie etc etc but it just doesn't seem to want to work.
