Feb 2, 2010Something conflicting with Adobe Flash that won't allow email attachments in gmail I have been speaking with senior techs in the google forum, and they suggested I post here. There is something about my computer settings or security software is conflicting with Adobe Flash. I did a clean install of both Flash 10 and Firefox 3.5.7 (I uninstalled the previous versions). The problem is with gmail. I get the error message when attaching files: "Attachment failed. This may be due to a proxy or firewall."

Aug 15, 2010On a website I am constructing (search for World Tutors .net on Google and then click Test page next to Webmail at the bottom) I have a contact form with various parts for the user to fill in (some text input boxes, and some COMBO boxes). Having looked on various forums, I thought I undstood how to make the Flash Actionscript 2.0 talk to the php script to send the email (i.e. pass on variables etc.) When the user completes the Client enqiry form and clicks the send button, it looks as though the message has been sent, but no email ever arrives. I've pasted the code I have below.

Emails Flash EXE Files Out To Customers
Aug 27, 2010My company emails our Flash EXE files out to customers. Most of these Flash files use keyboard events to navigate through them, and they load external SWF and video files. So, obviously, I have to package all of my movie files, SWF, and the main EXE into the same folder. In the past, they have simply Zipped the file, emailed it out, and told them which file to open. Sadly, even this is too complicated for some people. I need to simplify the process.
I am trying to find a way to take the entire folder and bundle it into a single EXE file. Also, I need to find a permanent solution for opening the main Flash EXE file in a MAXIMIZED window. I don't mean fullscreen. I mean MAXIMIZED. In fullscreen, keyboard events don't work. But, they do in a Maximized window.

Nov 23, 2010I am using Adobe Air to get data from SalesForce, and present it in a datagrid. I am using a query to get the data, and then put it into an arraycollection that is bound to the datagrid, this works correctly and the data is displayed. The problem is that I want to convert the Account Id in the Event to show the account Name. To do this I am using the following code:-

This works and displays the Account Name, the problem is that when I use this script and then Sync Changes to SalesForce all the records that have been displayed are identified as needing to be syncronised even if they have only been displayed. If I skip the function eventQueryHandler, and link my query to the OnQueryResult function then there is no problem, but only the Account Id can be displayed. How can I stop Air marking these records as having changed, or is there a better way to achieve this?

I grabbed the Facebook API for AS3 and have it installed, created an application definition on Facebook but am having no look connecting to it? I have seen some refereneces to it only working inside of Flex and am wondering it that's the case. I am looking to do a kiosk application where a camera image will be uploaded directly to the persons FB page.

Aug 4, 2009I've got a TextArea with some text in it. Sometimes there are linebreaks.
I'm using SelectionBeginIndex and SelectionEndIndex, along with substring() to get the current selection.
The only problem I'm running into is that if that selection includes any line breaks, it doesn't understand.
For example, if the text was:

This is my first line of text.
ABCDEF
Let's say I selected from the first letter all the way to, and including, B.
The output of the substring() with the begin and end selection, because of the linebreaks, would be:

Jun 3, 2011I am having a pretty irritating problem with the audio I am using for a Flash game which I am making using Flash 8 and Actionscript 2.0. The game itself is near complete and is already hosted online, it is a simple 2d shooter game where enemies go from one side of the screen to the other and you shoot them. I have built a preloader which works well however I have just added audio to the game, and I am finding that the preloader doesn't seem to take this audio into account. The game itself loads up and is ready to play, however it could be another 30 seconds or so before the audio will kick in.
I have a main song loop which plays in the background (triggered once the start game button is pressed). A bullet shot sound when the mouse is clicked (triggered through code), and various sound effects that are played on the timelines of the enemy movie clips characters. Part of my problem is that im implementing the audio in so many different ways and I am confused by the complexities of using audio in Flash. Should I build a separate preloader for the audio? Or am I simply doing something wrong in Flash itself when it comes to including the audio?

Jan 9, 2011I am trying to make a login that allows the user to create an account and be able to access it at anytime. Like if I was going to go on to facebook I can login. Something like that except I want it in my swift and not like a php or whatever you call it now.
