ActionScript 1/2 :: Stop The Buttons Becoming Click-able But Still Hover?

I have a flow chart, the Flash works perfectly, no problems, however i am using the multiple screens on Powerpoint slides in a program called Articulate (a simple program to house things like this as a whole media object on a website etc).The only issue with this is that i need to add links on top of each button on the page, which link to other slides in the presentation. So not hyperlinks in the Flash code, slide-hyperlinks in Powerpoint.
The Flash code should be enough to make the shapes have hover states, but not be a 'button', if that makes any sense? The hyperlink shapes i add on afterwards in Powerpoint should be the clickable areas with the cursor turning to a hand, but the Flash code by itself should just have a hover state with the cursor staying as an arrow.

I have inserted in an image and a button and tried both ways. When you click on the image I want a picture to appear. I am using this on a map of a building I want to be able to show pictures of what you would see if you were in the building. The only problem I am running into is that when you click where the picture shows up it will appear.

I am a multimedia student and I want to create an interactive slide show to put in the Portfolio section of my web site. How would I do that? Would it be easier to do in Dreamweaver CS5 or create in After effects then import in Dreamweaver? I have never done slideshows. What I want; is a slide show of my work to scroll on the screen, when the person hovers their mouse over the picture from left to right, the slideshow moves, when you click on a specific image, you are able to see the image in a bigger size.

I am working on an interactive map. I want a thumbnail image to appear when someone hovers over the button. The thumbnail is a movie clip on the main timeline which moves into view with a stop action half way through. My intention was to write a MOUSE_OUT and direct the image off screen. When I mouse over the image comes into view as directed but instead of stoping at the stop action,it just dissappears. How can I tell the image to remain onscreen until the mouse is moved away.

I am trying to achieve an effect in Flash. The effect in question is that when I hover a certain area I want my navigation (6 movie clips that acts as a button) to appear and disappear when I move my mouse out. The trouble is that right now I Can make then appear but I cannot click them nor mouse over them since I've put a transparent (alpha = 0 ) over them.
I'd like a solution or hint of a solution in AS2 but I am open to AS3 solutions as well.

I need to trigger the hover state of a Flex button programatically, so that it looks like the user is hovering over it. There is a flex page about "Manually dispatching events":

i am making a scroller and need to have it so that when you hover on the up or down buttons, then it will keep moving the designated layer up or down. right now the event handler i am usiing (onRollOver) doesnt really work right because it only moves one pixel, then you need to roll off and roll back on.... i am thinking there must be some do... while statement for the rollover action but i cant find it...

I am using a magnifying glass effect in flash, but because my content and rollover buttons sit "inside" the magnifying glass, so they appear magnified, the rollovers dont work when you mouse over them because technically you aren't mousing over them, if that makes sense.

I am building a flash interface and I would like a menu where it is hidden to begin with (just a tab). You click the tab to expand it, and click again to collapse it. I've made a movieclip with animation of the menu opening up and closing, but I can't seem to work out how I'd go about making the movieclip open and close properly.

I am looking for a way to simulate a mouse hover/mouse click. What's happening is a bar is autoscrolling and checking to see if there is an active button 'below' it. Sort of like a bar rolling along a music staff and checking for notes.
What can I use to accomplish this?

I'm making a website using flash,And on my movie it says Welcome to Blah Blah Blah,And then a button appears, To make sure my button works,The writing turns to bold and goes bigger,When the button appears it works and goes bigger, Until it reaches the point in the timeline where it has stop();It stops my movie from looping or restarting which is what i want, But it stops my buttons from working aswell, How to keep my button working but movie stops,If you want me to explain more just ask

I am creating a navigation bar in Flash (which will then be used in Dreamweaver). When you mouse over each topic in menu (ex. Products), i want it play a movie clip (so it shoots out a sub-menu underneath). so far so good, but the only thing is, the sub-menu won't stay open in order for me to click on buttons in it. For each button, I assigned it the Behavior to go to a url. Also, I tested the buttons within the mc and they don't seem to direct me to url. do you think maybe it's because it's nested within the movie clip?? Is there an easier way to go about this?

I have three buttons and when I click the second one, the first stops working (e.g. no trace event and it won't go back to the frame "tab1") but the third still works. Then when I press the third button both the first and second no longer work. If I take out the gotoAndStop lines, the buttons work fine. The subsequent frames simply have stops on them.

I have a goofy issue going on with a drag/drop scroller. When i stop dragging the following onEnterFrame will not clear/stop unless you click on the movieclip again, then it clears.
Can one of you coder minded people see anything wrong with this? It works great, but i need it to clear as it's taking up that precious memory [code]...

I couldn't come up with a good title for this question but basically the problem is this - I've got a series of thumbnails and clicking on a thumbnail loads a larger picture into a holder movieclip on the main stage. However, if you click another thumbnail while the first picture is still loading, then both pictures load and it goes on from there. How can I make my code so that clicking a new thumbnail cancels any actions from previous clicks?

I just want to play and stop my movie on a key click.I don't want to have the drop menu open and have the user click 'play'. Isn't there some way they can just press any key and the animation will progress forward?

I created a slideshow in flash cs4 that continues to play infinitely. I am looking for a strip of coding to stop the movie on a thumbnail click, so the pictures can just be browsed through instead of playing automatically. The problem is, if I set autoplay to false, then it doesn't play at all. I want it to play automatically until someone clicks on a thumbnail.The coding needed is below.

I have a presentation which is one movie clip in one frame on the main timeline. The movie clip has quite a lengthy timeline. What I need to do is stop the movie at a frame then play on mouse click and in some cases gotoandplay, then stop again. There are no other movie clips inside the main movie clip and I want there to be no buttons. Just proceed to the next bit on mouse click.
