ActionScript 1/2 :: Loading Videos With Different File Formats In A Flvcomponent?
Jun 3, 2009
I want to know if actionscript 2 can load different video and audio file types in a single flv component.I tried to load a .mov file in the swf but it's not playing. coz i read over the net that it can only play flv files? Is this possible by coding?
I have an issue concearning existing file formats for export in Flash CS4. According to the user's manual in Italian I have found, [URL] available formts include EPS and AI. As far as AI is concerned, I have this option but exported AI files are hard to open in Illustrator, since a number of problems appear. If I separate all groups in Flash and then export to AI format, Illustrator finally opens the AI file, but changing the colours and the shape of my design.
Moreover, no dialogue box for Illustrator version options appear when I choose AI for export, as is described in the support page. As to EPS file format, it is not in the export file dialogue box, the formats I have are JPG, PNG, GIF, EMF, WMF, BMP. My point is that I draw in Flash, then I need to export the designs in Illustrator for print optimization, but the content changes dramatically, if I actually can open the files.
I'm loading external logo into my SWF with following code: var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("logo.swf");var logoloader:Loader = new Loader();logoloader.load(request);addChild(logoloader);logoloader.x = 5;logoloader.y = 5; Everything works fine as long as I have logo.swf in right place. Is there an easy way to improve that code so that it wouldn't matter if there is logo.swf, logo.png or logo.jpg as long as one of those files exists in right place? I just would like to give my clients change to use other formats than SWF if they like, because some of them doesn't have flash or any other software with SWF exporting capability. all of them have Photoshop or some other Image software....
Using the Embed tag, we can embed in the swf file not only swf's or jpg's etc, but also unsupported file formats like:[code]When i instantiate such a class, what type of object do i get? Is it possible to get a ByteArray from this class?[code]
can i ask if it is possible to load different video formats in my flv component.I am trying to load a .mov, and ,mp3 and ,wmv in my player but its not working.
I have built an application that plays videos from the local computer.I am using the FlvPlayback Component. If I play a number of videos in a row(program has about 70), the memory usage on my computer goes to a level where my video is getting slowed down, audio becomes choppy, etc.It seems that when the new video gets loaded, the cached information from the previous video does not get cleared. Could this be and is there a way to clear this out on load of the next video?
I have found this great tutorial, about uploading files with a Flex app, using Php to do the server scripting for us.
http:[url]....Its great, but i wanted to know what changes should i do at the ActionScript so that only accepts image files, and if possible to limit the file size upload and show a message when one of these conditions are violated.
I am having some problems showing my videos in flash after moving it anywhere besides my computer.
I published my flash file once as a exe. file and sent it to another computer, where it all worked but my videos, which didn't show up at all.
I also published them as SWF files, then put them up on my free website (where i don't have access to the ftp) and the videos still aren't there.
The videos will play fine in an SWF file on my computer, but i am assuming when they are away from the videos, they don't have a source to access them.
I also tried sending the videos along with the SWF files when sending to other computers and it still doesn't work.
I now have a free hosted website (with wix.com if that makes any difference) with my flash work on, but no videos. I even tried to embed a youtube video into the scenes the videos are meant to appear, and put the videos on youtube, then i discovered you can't put that sort of HTML into flash.
how to show the videos on these sort of website, or even better, how to keep them in original file when sending them, so they show on other computers.
Ive been having trouble with Flash Player for quite some time now. I can watch some videos, but it takes some struggling to get them to work.
For example, on NFL.com, I can't watch any videos by clicking "Play", the video will just grey out and remain that way forever. However if I can find the video on the list underneath the player, sometimes when I click on the thumbnail the video starts automatically and I can watch it.
On Patriots.com things are a little worse. The player controls underneath the video don't load at all and I cant watch
I am building a video player which should load multiple videos in a FLVPlayback. When the loading of the first video has finished, the second one should start, using the VideoProgress Event.
My code looks like this, videos is an array with the paths to the videos:
flvPlayback.addEventListener(fl.video.VideoProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progress); flvPlayback.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, onComplete); private function progress(e:fl.video.VideoProgressEvent):void
[Code]....
Now I have the problem when I test this locally, the first video is invisible sometimes when starting to play. This is not happening everytime, but sometimes the video is not shown, but I can hear the sound, and I can see the scrubber on the seekbar moving.
I already tried to check in the progress function if the video is already playing, and if not, set a timer that will call the progress function again in 1 second.
I load a youTube video onto my video_Holder movie instance and it works fine.video_Holder.loadMovie("http:url].....);
Then I remove it by loading a blank movie.video_Holder.loadMovie("");
The youTube link I am using in this sample is not real.
The problem is that when I load the blank movie to get rid of the YouTube video that is loaded in my video_Holder, the audio still continues to play????Also if I load the same youTube video or others into the video_Holder, the play does not work properly and it goes berzerk,How do I fix this? Is my method incorrect when loading youTube videos?
We're using a content management system and client wants to upload videos. These videos will be for advertisers or directory listings. The videos will be converted on the fly to flv. Using flash8 flv component. Depending on the URL, I need the swf to access the correct video from a dynamically created xml file. I'm able to get the swf to recognize the current URL, and I put the URL into a variable called pageURL. Based on this URL, I need the swf to send this to the xml, with php - it will determine what video to get from database - based on the URL sent. I then need the swf file to play the correct video from the xml file.
I'm trying to set up a flash based blog that can be updated with php and mysql and will handle text, images and video. I understand the basics of setting it up using php to generate xml files for flash to read, but the one problem I am having is figuring out how to load videos into flash. The goal is to be able to load as many videos as needed in their own players, so it wouldn't be like a playlist of videos but rather like how on a regular blog you would post youtube videos in their own unique players.
So far all of the things I have found have been related to loading videos in a sort of media player with playlists but yet to find a good solution for this. Is there a relatively simple way to use actionscript 2 to load a flv?
The client needs to be able to upload new videos to a folder, and the flash should load a video randomly. Is it possible to make the flash to read the folder and load a random video, without having to change the ActionScript? The number of videos on the folder may vary.
This isse occurs in flash player 10.2 but not in 10.1. Im sorry if my rusty english is making this hard to understand. I have an issue that causes my hair to turn grey. I think it has something to do with security sandbox when accessing file over networks share from http. I have an swf wrapped with swfobject in html on a intranet: [URL] That swf tries to access/stream/load a flv file on a network share unc path:[URL] I get an NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error when i try to load that flv file. I catn even load an image from that share. The code works fine when accessing files on the same http domain and when locally on my hd.
I've tried both with single and double backslash i the path so that it isnt broken.. cause I noticed that flash removes single back slashes. It actually seem as if I cant access any file on the netwrok drive. So therefore I cant load a policy file (crossdomain) from that network as well. I've added the network path to the Global Security settings panel, I can provide you with more info if you want to.
I'm loading a lot of external videos and pictures and I'm wondering what is the best way for handling the loaded videos and images. Should I unload them after they have finished playing and reload them whenever they are needed, or it's not required since they just use the clients memory and not the cpu cycles when inactive?
I have a 3.5MB SWF that points to ~80 FLVs that range in size from 3MB to 10MB.
Is there a way I can package all of these files into one ~500MB file that can be run locally? My client wants sales people to take this app around with them on their laptops and not require the internet and I don't want them to have 100 files to mess with.
I've got a flash file with a series of videos in it, what I'm trying to get happen is that when I press 1,2,3,7,8 or 9 it'll take the viewer to one of the six videos, corresponding to the button pressed. I've got no experience with AS2.
I have a swf file, which plays 6 videos one after the other in a loop. This file is very huge so it is taking more than a minute for it to start playing after the page finished loading. I have taken the original video file, and split it into 6 files. I plan to have 6 tiles in the flash file as soon as the page loads, and when some tile is clicked, the video is loaded dynamically only that video or swf file so that it saves the loading time and once this is done, i want it to revert back to the main page with tiles. I am just starting off with flash and I have no clue how this is possible in flash. I am not asking for code, i need some tips to get started.
I want to be able to stream a live video using Flash Media Live Encoder 3 using two options of 300 kbps and 150 kbps.I want to give users a choice of stream quality depending on their available bandwidth to maintain the live feed.I have set it up so that the Bit Rates are 300 and 150 and tick marks on: 1 and 2my FMS URL is correctin the Stream: box I have written: test1;test2The SMIL file has the following:
We have some HTML pages that embed a swf file to stream flv videos. The video doesn't play and I firstly thought it was the video player's version problem. But it seems more to be related to the path now.
I'm using FlowPlayer to replace an existing FLV player on my site that plays videos from Amazon E3. I have many pages and each should show a different video. For each page, I have a value stored in my CMS that is the "streamName". The stream name corresponds to a flashvars paramenter in the object/embed tags that show the video player:&streamName=my-great-video
On my new player, I'm able to get the video using a URL similar to [URL] How Does Flash (or Amazon???) know to add in the .swf extension? There are several video formats used on the site, and the current player works with them all... But, as I mentioned above, on each page the value store for the video (ex="my-great-video") includes no extension.
I'm creating a movie player on a website of mine.. similar to YouTube. I would like people to be able to upload their movies on to my site. So my question(s) are regarding the FLV Format and if you can play other formats some how like Movs, Avis, Wmvs and Mpegs?
(1) Flash can only play FLV files? Can you get it to play Movs, Avis, Mpegs... Can I some how put in codecs for them?
(2) Can people easily get their movies to FLV format? Is this an issue for people?
I don't want to make it complicated for them to put things on my site. I would like them to be able to upload movies with ease and obviously not make things too complicated for them. I want to make it as user friendly as possible.
