I already post this question in late December but didn't get a positive reply.How can I get rid of displaying "undefined" in fields and get instead blank fields?Is it possible to build a global function which could be applied to the entire .swf file?
I just created a feedback form. It uses a php file to email the info back to us. The form works fine, but I need help making my text fields required fields.
I have created a banner in Flash CS5. It starts with a blank stage and an image tweens on to stage from the right edge. The image stays on the stage for a few seconds and a 2nd image tweens on to the stage and completly covers the 1st image. Similarly 3rd and 4th image cover the preceeding images. When I play the animation, before the 1st image covers the stage, there is nothing prior to it. When the 2nd starts tweening over the stage, the 1st image is still there.
Similarly for the 3rd and the 4th images, there is an image covering the stage. But after 1st loop completes, the animation goes back to a blank stage and the 1st image starts tweening on to the stage. Iwould like to have the 4th image stay on the stage while the 1st image starts tweeing on to the stage. I have started using Flash recently and am not very skilled with the program or ActionScript.
I have a contact form which works correct, however I want to add two non required fields in the AS. I can't get it to work.The two fields are company_name and web_name (I have added these files in the reset function below), these are not required to be filled out.I can't get it to work so that they are not required to be filled out at the submit function.[code]
I have my Flash / PHP form working. Now, I want to make some of the form fields required. I would like the Name and Email form fields to be required.When they are not filled out I do not want the form to send and to show the status of the fields as "Your name is required" and "Your email is required".I am not sure how to write this code and I have searched and searched and can not figure it outBelow is the flash code:
Code: send_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, sendMessage); function sendMessage(e:MouseEvent):void{
in other words, suppose I want to send data, like text, programmatically from a Windows app (such as a browser plugin) to a Flash app running in the browser. Well, conceptually, an example of this might be a Flash instant messenger with a textbox and button "Send"; so let's say I want to be able to programmatically paste the text and press Send or otherwise activate it. That's NOT what I am trying to do here in reality (i.e., no,I am not trying to spam other people's chat rooms or anything)but just an illustration of a similar situation.I can include in it whatever widget or hack that may be necessary.The reason why this problem is arising for me is that AFAIK the SDK that is providing me the data I want cannot be directly accessed from Flash, so I need a way to pipe the data from a regular app into Flash. can I have the Flash app interact with other apps through localhost IP? Or are there draconian restrictions on which server Flash in browser can and cannot interact?
I have a database with Many fields. The fields came straight from a form in sharepoint...which was then input into a sharepoint list.
So I have my MS Access database. And wherever the user did not complete the form (ie left the field blank), MS Access is not exporting that field within the record. Thus leaving my Flash app to crash because some of the needed data is missing. [code]...
How can I force Access to export those fields as well? Do I need to write a query?
ok I dont get it... I have a simple contact form, and a basic if/else to check if certain fields have been left blank... if they have frame two displays an error message, if filled in then it posts the vars and goes to frame three thanking the user. For some reason this code ALWAYS returns false:
Code: on (release) { if (name eq "" or address eq "" or city eq "" or state eq "" or zip eq "" or phone eq "" or email eq "" or projects eq "") { _root.gotoAndStop(2);
I have been working on a tool for use in our office which creates XML. The problem is if a user leaves any of the text fields blank, I get only the end tag, for example </text>. This only happens if a text field is blank. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to handle this. Do I have to check every field for data? I am at home now so I can not post the code right now. But basically, I set a variable which holds the XML structure and is filled in with variables from the text fields.
In my AS I load XML data into an array for titles which will be used later in dynamic text fields. I trace this, all of the titles load fine into the array. I use a for loop to attach a movie which has a dynamic text field inside of it. The movie attaches just fine, in a verticle menu just like I want it. The dynamic text field has the right instance name inside of it. I set the text field instance name to the array, but it didn't show anything in the text field. I knew it was there since it was Selectable and the selection cursor pops up whenever I hover over where it should be. So I create a string variable like so to try and go around whatever is messing it up:
I'm making a canadian tax calculator - and it all works BUT I need it to check the fields and if they're blank, make it process it as zero. ALSO, I've now discovered I need to make the fields display as money would. Is it possible to make the fields only show two decimal points, put a comma in (like --> 2,546.00) and have it everytime show two zeros (sometimes it displays as this --> 26.0 instead of 26.00. At the *least* I need it to show 26.0 >> like this ...26.00
How can i send variables from flash to a php page. I want it to be done in the standalone flash player and not the browser and also I don't want the browser to pop up like when we use getURL. Is there any possible way of doing it. It seems I cannot find way to sned variable to php except using the following method which opens a browser.[code]...
I am using the following code to send some values do a php file. The problem comes when i actually SEND them (values). A browser opens up. How could i avoid opening the browser when i send my variables to my php?
i've created a flash movie which has a bunch of form fields on it - more then will fit on the screen. When i test the movie, i only see some of the form elements, and there's no scroll bar within the movie or the flash player to be able to move around. If i drop this flash movie into a webpage, will the user be able to scroll it within the browser? or do i have to do something to enable scrolling?
I'd like to give someone else the FLA to recompile SWF's, but the libraries I'm using are spread out in many places (Tween libraries, custom libraries, etc), and would be somewhat arduous to package cleanly to include with the FLA. compile the imported libraries into the FLA somehow?
Quite new still to AS3 so if someone can help me out, or point in the right direction,Stage size is set to 750 wide x 440 high and my hi res image is 1500 wide x 880 high. image is called mcImage.The hi res image on the stage that is scaled down to 50% on both X and Y axes.I have a zoom in button, a zoom out button and a reset button. All do pretty much what their name suggests.When you zoom in, it adjusts the Z axes of mcImage to make the image appear larger on the stage. So far so good.I then get the new co-ordinates of X and Y by using the localToGlobal feature and record them in a variable, passing them to the mouse Handler for the dragging of the image.The issue is, whatever I try in startDrag(); does not limit the size of the dragable image, nothing happens, though I am expecting it to allow me to drag the image around within it's boundary!I am sure that the code can be tidied up, but I am still learning a lot about AS3 and trying my hardest.
I want to add the required information to the 'Summary' tab when looking at the properties of an SWF file.Could somebody tell me how to do add the required informations .
why (in this example) the use of a protected functions is required. It is an Adobe example showing an audio mixer board.I included just the code of the main document.
I have a movie that consists of one image that scrolls across the screen. It all works beautifully. Although it's one image (jpeg) that has been saved as a movie clip, the single image is actually made up of a number of logos. What I want to do is to make each of those logos a separate hyperlink that will link to different external URLs. As the logos scroll across the screen, you can pick any one that happens to be showing at the time (the actual movie clip is larger than the stage) and then go to the relevant site.
If I save the jpeg as a button, I can't then make it scroll across the screen in the same way and I don't want to break up the image into indivdual files, as it will then not scroll as a single unit with the Actionscript that I'm using.
I have a web app that connects two computers and streams video to each other like a video conference. It currently works and also records the video in .f4v format. I am trying to figure out what I need to do to enable the client pc's to stream in H.264. Is it true that I have to use some type of encoder (like Live Encoder) to use H.264? If so, does Live Encoder have to be installed on the client computers? If that is true, is there a way to install the live encoder through our web app, configure it, and close it down when the conference is over, with no interaction from the client? Is there some type of plug-in that we could use that would eliminate the need for installing live encoder on the client computers?
Here is the snippet of my code which is causing this error:[code]Description: Type mismatch in assignment statement: found Number where String is required.Source: for (a=0; a<cabinets[index].length; a++)Which is peculiar because when I alter it to: for (a="0"; a<cabinets[index].length; a++) { it throws no errors anymore however this is now incorrect because a is now a string.
