Dec 10, 2009I have a database with Many fields. The fields came straight from a form in sharepoint...which was then input into a sharepoint list.
So I have my MS Access database. And wherever the user did not complete the form (ie left the field blank), MS Access is not exporting that field within the record. Thus leaving my Flash app to crash because some of the needed data is missing. [code]...
How can I force Access to export those fields as well? Do I need to write a query?

I have a simple contact form, and a basic if/else to check if certain fields have been left blank... if they have frame two displays an error message, if filled in then it posts the vars and goes to frame three thanking the user. For some reason this code ALWAYS returns false:

ActionScript 3.0 :: User Leaves Any Of Text Fields Blank
Dec 7, 2009I have been working on a tool for use in our office which creates XML. The problem is if a user leaves any of the text fields blank, I get only the end tag, for example </text>. This only happens if a text field is blank. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to handle this. Do I have to check every field for data? I am at home now so I can not post the code right now. But basically, I set a variable which holds the XML structure and is filled in with variables from the text fields.

Aug 19, 2006In my AS I load XML data into an array for titles which will be used later in dynamic text fields. I trace this, all of the titles load fine into the array. I use a for loop to attach a movie which has a dynamic text field inside of it. The movie attaches just fine, in a verticle menu just like I want it. The dynamic text field has the right instance name inside of it. I set the text field instance name to the array, but it didn't show anything in the text field. I knew it was there since it was Selectable and the selection cursor pops up whenever I hover over where it should be. So I create a string variable like so to try and go around whatever is messing it up:

Nov 26, 2009I'm making a canadian tax calculator - and it all works BUT I need it to check the fields and if they're blank, make it process it as zero. ALSO, I've now discovered I need to make the fields display as money would. Is it possible to make the fields only show two decimal points, put a comma in (like --> 2,546.00) and have it everytime show two zeros (sometimes it displays as this --> 26.0 instead of 26.00. At the *least* I need it to show 26.0 >> like this ...26.00

Apr 16, 2010I created a demo where when you roll over parts of the product, in the white space to the left it displays the text information about that part of the product. The rollovers work great, however if you run your mouse over the blank area (where the rollovers would show up), it treats that as the rollover too. Below is the URL for the test page.

ActionScript 2.0 :: FMX - Screen Is Blank And The Preloader Doesn't Show
May 9, 2004I have a small problem with a preloader in Flash MX. It seems to become stuck at "frame 0" instead of showing the preload bar, etc...and I didn't know there was a "frame 0"? When I test it with "show streaming", the screen is blank and the preloader doesn't show, then, when the movie is done loading, the preloader flashes up briefly. I have 2 frames on my main timeline. Frame 1 is the preloader, and frame 2 contains a clip which constitutes the main movie. Frame 2 has stop() and both are labelled correctly i.e. when the movie is finished loading gotoAndPlay("movie") (frame 2) is executed.

Nov 28, 2009I can go forward and then go back to the first image without a problem, but whenever I stop on the frame where the movie clip is, first image in the sequence is always white.I've been ever the code repeatedly, completely replaced movie clip, no alpha applied, etc.

Jul 21, 2008I am having a hard time getting special characters such to show up in my text fields...I am trying to use IMPACT font and the texts tweens larger when the user mouses over it...and tweens back to normal when you mouse off...now I noticed that when I do not embed any characters...they will show up...but the tweening looks so bad and grainy...but when I embed the Upper Case, Lower Case, Numbers, and Punctuation those characters disappear...is there another set that I should be choosing to embed those special characters? Or do I have to manually enter those in?

Jan 9, 2012While I'm just a beginner right now it/I'm an experienced computer user and I have really enjoyed/but when I'm looking at it now I'm trying to use flash to edit a website template, for example monster templates. I bought a template from the site and nine trying to edit it now and well it just seems like it's a very very long process to do something kind of where I just want to look at the page and I want to edit the text and only I go to bed doesn't seem to be the case. So I'll show you what I mean.
When I'm using the program and I'm in Adobe flash I'm looking now at the screen inside the program and there's no text I see the graphics images and there's no text and also is that some type of way where it's easy to navigate link to link where I can just edit the text what supposed to be in there rather than search for the funeral push page up and down until I come across just a white background with tax and then have to edited which is pretty confusing because I don't know where that's located but I the general idea that if you change it but surely there must be an easier way.
So basically I'm including a screenshot that shows you exactly what I'm talking about. Basically once again I'm in fashion items Sandy text so it's kinda hard to see what was going on or whatever so you can see the snow text located in the thing but however when I publish the file yeah you can see the text and everything I'm kinda looking for some type of you well be able to see this and just edited really. I know there are other programs out there like SWF edited her or quick note to some like that. But I really wanted to use flash, unexperienced Photoshop user and I really love all Adobe products and I really think that this is the master program to use however I'm really don't want it as of right now it's been about 40 days and nine still a bit lost navigating through the program will I'm just really just China entities tax bills and just go through the site. Now I realize I should have the respect for beautiful program like this and it's not been a be set up to the way that I'm hoping it Siskind be a point-and-click editor I understand that. I'm just wondering if anybody has any type suggestions or perhaps of I'm missing something which is fantastic.

ActionScript 3.0 :: HtmlText <img> Tag?
Jan 12, 2011if I use an <img src='images/pic.jpg' /> within a text box that is using classic text, dynamic text as its settings, it has been assigned "render text as html" and has been set to multiline, it works great, that is when my image is in the top of the text area. When I move the image to the end of the scrolling text, it makes my text block larger to accommodate the text instead of making it just scroll more.

IDE :: No Space After <p> In HtmlText?
Feb 3, 2009I have been working with htmlText and everything is loading and appears fine with one minor exception. For some reason there is no space between paragraphs defined by the <p> tag. There will be a line break, but not the extra space between the paragraphs.

ActionScript 3.0 :: XML - HtmlText And CSS Formatting?
Nov 6, 2008I (well, a rather angry client) found an oddity I would like to consider a bug in formatting htmlText coming fom XML's toString() method with css.
If somehow an empty tag ends up in XML like <h1></h1>, all of the following text in the field is formatted to the CSS defined props of h1. In the (simplified DocumentClass) code below I have an XML object which has an empty h1-tag after the first sentence of the first paragraph. Placing the XML it in the field renders the text following the empty tag as bold and with the fontsize set for h1.
Strangely, if the html source is initialized as a string and put straight in the textField (see commented code), all formatting is OK.

ActionScript 3.0 :: GetCharBoundaries And HtmlText?
Jul 21, 2010I am having an issue using getCharBoundaries() with htmlText. In the following code, I am trying to get the location of <img> tags, so that I can then move the image to where the <img> tag in the text, rather than the image being placed on the next line. getCharBoundaries returns an actual rectangle when I use plain text, but when it's htmlText, the function returns null (I put in a trace statement just to make sure of whether I was getting null or not). I've read that getCharBoundaries() can be unpredictable; does anyone know of a workaround or why this might be happening?

Feb 23, 2011I have a htmlText Field, and I wanna embed a Movieclip from my library into the text.I've tried everything for about 5 hours, nothing worked, even though the Adobe Help stated that it's possible:src: Specifies the URL to an image or SWF file, or the linkage identifier for a movie clip symbol in the library. This attribute is required all other attributes are optional. External files (JPEG, GIF, PNG, and SWF files) do not show until they are downloaded completely.
