View 1 RepliesI'm developing application on Azerbaijan Language(in flash cs5 on actionscript 3), when I copy symbols from word document to flash it shows only the letters which are same in Latin. For example in "fəallıq göstəricisi" flash converts second and 13th symbols(both are "ə") to rectangles.

However, the result looks like the following:ScreenshotAs you can tell, it cuts off the first few characters in the text after the image tag (Lorem Ipsum is sim), but it is only because the image is full width. If I change the img tag to width="200", it shows the text floating to the right.However, as you can tell with a full width image (because the Text component's width is 339), it seems the text is still floating to the right, but it's hidden off to the right side of the image.

View 1 RepliesI am having a hard time getting special characters such to show up in my text fields...I am trying to use IMPACT font and the texts tweens larger when the user mouses over it...and tweens back to normal when you mouse off...now I noticed that when I do not embed any characters...they will show up...but the tweening looks so bad and grainy...but when I embed the Upper Case, Lower Case, Numbers, and Punctuation those characters disappear...is there another set that I should be choosing to embed those special characters? Or do I have to manually enter those in?

I have taken a dynamic text field with HTML property = true;
Some of the characters are working fine. But some of the special characters are not. For example the angle symbol "∠" is not working.
I found out the Decimal code for angle symbol (∠) and used it. It is working fine if I don't embed the font but when we embed the font (even with all the characters that flash support), it is not working.
I am using the following code

I then have another textfield which I am setting like so:tb.htmlText = "Test <b>Test</b>";For some reason, the bold text is not displaying as bold, but as regular weight. I have tried embedding the fonts in the library, using the [Embed] meta tag and even resorted to using CSS to force the fontFamily. Weirdly, I can use Font.enumurateFonts and see both fonts are embedded, but the textfield refused to use the bold version inside the < b > tags.I've been told this is a problem with Flash CS4 on a mac and that it will work on PC. I refuse to believe this is the case, however. Surely Adobe would have fixed this by now?

It seems htmlText is rearranging the html tags. Even though the output is the same, I need the original html back since I am making a text editor and the AFTER htmlText is messing up my tag calculations.
why does font embedding in Flash have to always be so difficult? I'm trying to add a new font for use in htmlText and its not working. I have a dynamic text box on the stage. I have Helvetica Medium, Helvetica Bold and Futura Bk and Futura Bk Bold fonts embedded using the Font Embedding panel. All four of these fonts work fine when I do the following:

I'm in the middle of the painful transition to AS3, and have encountered a stonewall. In AS2 you could export any font for actionscript and use its identifier (for example "Font 1") in htmlText:
my_text.htmlText = <font face="Font 1" size="20">"+Some text+"</font>"
But what's the procedure in AS3, as fonts doesn't have identifiers, only a class name?

I'm importing text in from an xml file and i'm using htmlText to try to keep some styling with tags. I have both the regular and bold face font embedded, and the bolding works fine. The problem is that it ads spaces around the words in bold like a paragraph indent and then makes a line-break after them. What's going on, is there a way to fix?

I am using a TextArea. I set its htmlText as follows:

The problem is that there are always 2 lines in text area when it runs......when i remove this i get usual one line but then i m not able to set color and all.I want to use textarea, set different colors on it and i dont want 2 lines in that.....
HTMLText is displaying really strangely. I'm displaying a textField with htmlText provided through XML, and in this bulleted list it'll display the first line all on one line, keep going off the end of the textareas size (ie. not do multiline) until the last word of the bullet, then put that word at the start of the next line. And it'll put the last word on the next line no matter how long your bullet item is.
eg.
myField.htmlText = "<li>Seek the input of experts</li>;
Would output
'seek the input of
experts'
I've checked and this thread was similar however I've removed all my tweens to test and it hasn't had any effect.
what to do about this? I've tried these to no avail:

Am working on a flash component that is supposed to display some dynamic text which might include HTML formatting. This text is displayed in a label component (AS3), and i would want it to render correctly, like create a line break when <br> is inserted, but it doesn't!
So am wondering what the supported HTML tags in the label component, and in general all other flash components?
I am trying to print a string with html formatting. Part of the formatting includes font face. I have found that my print job will not print any string that includes a font face declaration. I'm guessing because the font isn't embedded, but I'm not positive.
This works:

Doesn't work:

How can I get around this. I need the ability to print any font on a users computer.
I saw most of the games on facebook having a 3D character that you can dress up and rotate perfectly. Does flash CS4 have the power to do this? If yes, then can anyone help me or give me a link to a tutorial or any site out there that discuss this kind of tech
View 2 RepliesI have my language/local set to Korean; also, I.E 8 has encodings for utf-8 set.(Same problem when viewed in Firefox vs 2.0.0.12) It is an English version of Windows XP, SP2 (all the latest patches installed - excluding SP3) This problem exists with a number of web sites; the attached file shows an example: the flash display (located line +5 from the top) does not display korean characters in the right box, yet, the left box is fine, note, this problem is illustrated elsewhere on this page. the URL is [url]..

vt.text = xml.video.@vt[cv];
and pulls the information from an XML File:

Now for some reason only the letters a d g i l n o will actually display when tested with all the alphabet above.
UPDATE: Solved - Just needed to change the textbox AA to Use Device Fonts :) (New user cant answer my own question)
By sending the below text block from Flash there are problems with the through PHP created XML output.
