Nov 13, 2009I've searched the web and tried a number of different approaches to embed a font in my Flash movie but each has ended in frustration. I have created several buttons with dynamic text fields that use the font I need. I have added the font to my library, given it a unique name, exported for actionscript and then used the unique name when selecting the font in my dynamic text fields. I am probably not using the right AS code to embed and use the font. What's the easiest way to embed the font? I am also using the same embedded font in a around 5 flash movies on the site.

Sep 27, 2010I'm noticing that my embedded font is not properly displaying when I browse to certain portions of my site with my other office pc's. The "about me" section of [URL] in particular. What's confusing is that the other portions of the site do display the font properly!?! I've uploaded the original .fla file to the server for anyone that's really interested in helping. Sep 9, 2001To make it short. Macromedia Flash doesnt support Farsi and Arabic language BUT you still can use Farsi & Aarabic in flash. All you need is another program that called "Parspad" that will some how make Farsi & Arabic words appear in flash. To get the program go to this address [URL]. And you will find one of the best Farsi and Arabic editor with almost Hundred beautiful Fonts.
Steps in how to use the program with flash:
1- Open the program "Parspad" then type in Farsi / Arabic whatever you want
2- Go to "Parspad" menu >edit> or Highlight the text and right click copy.
3- Then go to flash and past
4- Select the text you just pasted and change its font to exact font you used in "Parspad"fonts that comes with it.. you have to scroll throw fonts till you find it. It should be about 100 different fonts that works with Parspad, but you have to choose the exact one you used in "ParsPad".

Apr 8, 2010I have to display dynamic xmlize arabic text in flash. I have done it using flash cs3/AS3. But problem is that when text displays in flash it is not rendering as expected. Some gaps comes in the characters. But when I open my xml in browser, arabic text displays correct.Is there any way to do it in flash cs3 or Flash cs4 using player 9?

Aug 17, 2011i am developing an application that gets comment data from database (i use amfphp to communicate with database).I've set caracter encoding in both gateway.php and my data base and everything is ok .i traced the return value and it display correctlly in the outpout pane but when i set the .text property of the text field to the value it displays weird caracters. 2) If so, does this native support extend to the ComboBox component?
I'm working on a form in Flash that uses the ComboBox component, and I need to verify whether this support is as holistic as I hope it is.

Css :: Embedding Font In Flex Locally With A Installed Font Works, But With Url To Refer To A Ttf Font File Doesn't
Feb 7, 2011I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.

Mar 23, 2011In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.

Flash :: Embed Font Will Replace Or Complete Another Embeding Font?
Feb 9, 2011I have a swf A, which contains no font.If I download into it the swf F1, which contains few characters of Arial, then I'll have the arial font embed into A, no problem with that.But if, then, I download the swf F2, which contains other characters of Arial into swf A, will I be able to use all the embed characters font, only the F2, or only the F1 ?I'd like to have a link to somewhere where this is explained, even in very technical terms : I wasn't able to find one.
EDIT : After few tests, it seems that the player replace the loaded font... How can I merge them, then ?

Jul 19, 2009Is it possible to embed a font in Flash and have it displayed as though it was a device font? In other words, can embedded fonts be aliased?Using the bitmap-text option doesn't work, Flash tends to screw up a lot of the character spacing. I haven't found any pixel fonts that mimic Arial, Verdana and Tahoma accurately. Setting the stage quality to low does alias the fonts but they become fragmented.Using device fonts is an option but, as far as I understand, some browsers/operating systems will take it upon themselves to anti-alias the text.

Feb 25, 2012i have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. How can i fix this without resizing the site. i want the users to see with the proportions that i have now.. ijust want a scroll on the browser.
