ActionScript 2.0 :: [CS3] Button Code And MC Not Playing?

Attached is a test SWF that has the exact problem that I am having in the main file, tried to attache the FLA but it is too big.To navigate to the problem, preview the SWF and click Search Now. It will bring up a list of different places, click on the one that says Harbison...that will bring up another window with an X in the corner. You click the X and it unloads the movie-clip but what is supposed to happen is that the white box is supposed to collapse back up after the MC unloads, but it doesn't.The code is there for it to gotoAndPlay the start of the frame where it collapses but it doesn't work...the action is being called because I traced it but it does not do anything.When you click the Harbison button it loads a MC into a Container with:

I have a sound clip that I'm loading externally into my flash file. The code I'm using looks like this and is placed in the as layer on the first frame,

So I made a few buttons with sounds within them and when I publish it they work just fine. But what I want them to do is;
Say I click a Button.The sound starts playing.Then I click it again, before the sounds done playing.I want it to stop the playing sound and start playing the button I just clicked on, whether it be the same button, or a different one.Right now it just ends up sounds like an echo because it'll play it as many times as you click it.
I'm making a mini-game, so ive got various scenes and stuff going on. I found this rain effect [url]... and it works fine and looks pretty good, the problem is I don't know how to get the damn thing to stop! I'm a beginner so know very little actionscript and can't figure this out myself. I do not want the timeline to stop playing only for the rain to stop.
I have a set of sound clips to be played one after another in a sequence with couple of time interval inbetween. In my case, its a question - followed by the set of four options.
When I write the below code, all the audop files start together at same time. How can I had time delay inbetween, so that the second clip plays only after the first one is over, and the third one starts playing, only when the second option is over.

However, I'd like the movieclip to finish playing the contracting to a thumbnail animation to the end before moving to a lower depth. I'm designing an interface for a class, and the buttons that I am using all have multiple functions.For example, when the story button is clicked, I need the mc to stop playing and change to text (in the same window/screen, just no mc playing). The mc is 31 frames long, but if there's a way to just make it loop continuously until told not to, Currently, my code looks like this:

When I click the button, the mc does not stop playing and the text does not show up.
Anyway what I need to do is have a movie clip finish playing when a button is clicked and then go to the frame label associated with the button. I hope I'm explaining myself ok. So if I had say 4 buttons Home Gallery About Contact If Contact is clicked then I want the Home page to play (Which is a fade out) and then go to Contact Page (which will fade in). Then If Gallery is clicked then I want Contact to fade out and then go to Gallery page and fade in.

i have given 3 functions as onEnterFrame,onPress,onRelease. i tried all these but didnt get the result.smile1,smile2,smile3 are button instances which are declared on the monie clip.my main thing is i hav a button, when i click on that button it should go the next frame which i have declared in "gotoAndPlay(6)" method.

I gathered that it is most probably due to the fact that I have constructed a button in the improper way.I tried to redo a button but it was the same result.I would like to try to access it through the main timeline. What would be the whole block of code to put a function on the button located inside an external SWF which is called in via a UILoader?

I have two buttons named buttonOne and buttonTwo. When I click buttonOne, the movie clip named oneMc should play its intro and then stop then after that whenever I click buttonTwo, the movieclip oneMc should play outro animation and then movieclip twoMc intro comes in.

I want to link a button to a movie clip, but it will not play. Here is how it is set up. On my main scene on second layer on frame 2, I have a movie called homeContent within which I have another movie called pdbutton within which I have another movie called pdrbt. This movie called pdrbt needs to play a movie on the main scene on layer content on frame 3 movie called streetSidemc_mc. Here is my code,

I created an FLV of my movie and am using the Slideshowpro for flash component to play the FLV in my SWF. (Not the built in FLVPlayback component) The video is about 2 minutes long.At the end of the video playing I would like a button to pop up that people can press to send an email to request more information. I have no idea what the best way to go about doing this would be and I do not know AS well at all.Currently my only thought is to make my player.swf (the one that plays my video) as long as my video (appr. 2 minutes) and then fade in a button towards that people can use. This would probably work but it is probably not the most efficient way of accomplishing this.Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been searching for things like adding annotations to flash movies just as YouTube does but have not found anything so far.

If you go to the above link and make your way to the menu, you will see that a black arrow flashes when you hover over a button. Then when you click it, it moves the next page, however when you click the menu button to go back, the black arrow will still be flashing, instead of returning to its first button state. The main menu is removed before it procedes to the next screen, like so:

The trace function works but when I try to insert "movie_flv.play();" underneath the trace function, I get this error message: 1120: Access of undefined property movie_flv.

I'm looking for some help regarding stopping sounds in Actionscript 3. Basically I'm making an interactive story game, basically a quiz game. On the main menu I have a narrator talking. What I basically want to do is have the track stop playing when you press the play button. I have the soundtrack playing already and the play button too. I just can't figure out how to get the sound to stop when I press the play button and it goes to the next scene.
I have a portfolio_mc that is inside of a content_mc (stage->content_mc->portfolio_mc). There are 3 buttons that take the user to an appropriate frame designated by a frame label and this loads up an FLV. The problem is that when I click on any of the navigation buttons on the main timeline, the FLV that is currently playing, is still playing (I can hear the audio). How to stop this.
