Flash CS3 Pro. AS 2.0. Mac OS X. I am making an instruction film containing many different SWF:s that loads one at a time. The new swf unloads the previous swf. But with a Go back button you should be able to load the previous swf, but that one can be different depending on which one you came from.
So how do I write a script that means something like this:
If level 2 (film2.swf) was the previous swf , load that one again else try the next one on the list.

This is probably a simple thing, that I just cannot find the answer to.Basically I have designed an HTML based website.I want to incorporate a SWF element on the homepage, and am having problems doing so.In order to keep the file size of the swf I will be placing on my homepage to a minimum, I broke it down into a series of shorter scenes, that I plan on dynamically loading into my main file (which will hold all the AS) that will be placed on my site.
This is where I run into the problem.I have no trouble getting the first swf to load into my main file, but what I need to do is get the next swf to load and play after the first is done playing. So I am assuming I will need to find a script to unload the first movie, then load the second, and so on.Im actually not even sure if this is the right way to go about doing this.
I'm loading external SWFs into a larger SWF/projector, and I need to load the next and remove the previous one. Because of some unforseen technical requirements, I need to do this in AS3, unfortunately, I'm only used to AS2. I need the simplest possible way. Here's the code I'm using:
On the main movie: Code: // LOAD FIRST CLIP var loadit = new Loader(); loadit.load(new URLRequest("assets/01.swf")); this.container.addChild(loadit);
Then on 01.swf: Code: stop(); // LOAD NEXT var loadit = new Loader(); addChild(loadit); loadit.load(new URLRequest("02.swf"));
And then load 03.swf, 04.swf and so on. When loading 02.swf, 01.swf needs to be unloaded. How can I do this?
I am delving into AS3 and need a little bit of help. I am building an application that allows users to view content by clicking "next" and "previous" with a visual cue telling the user what slide they have loaded (slide 1 of 15, slide 2 of 15 etc etc) but I am really struggling with it. I want to load each slide as an external SWF because they are heavy.
I found this code online which loads swfs when you hit a "next button" but I have no idea how to get it to work to load swfs when you click a "previous button" and how to add the slide reference:
I Have about 10 images that will be loading into my home page using the code below. the problem that I am getting is that occasionaly the same image will load twice in a row. is these some code I can insert into my existing code so that the images will not load twice in a row?
var movieArray:Array = ['Simage/Simage0','Simage/Simage1','Simage/Simage2']; var loader:Loader = new Loader(); var index:int = movieArray.length * Math.random(); var url:String = movieArray[index] + '.swf'; trace("Attempting to load", url);
I have a function which adds movieclips dynamically into another movieclip. Inside the dynamic movieclip is a dynamic textbox (it gets it's content from a textfile via the function).However, if I add more than one movieclip, the previous added mc's gets the textbox value undefined (doesn't matter if it's an identical mc or a different one). And it hasn't got to do with levels, I've already checked that...
Here's the function: [AS] addTxt = function (src, objWidth, xpos, ypos, level) {

my program is i can choose several movie to load and the movies are save in an array... For example: i choose movie 1 , 2 and 3. Movie 1 was loaded. After i lick 'next 'button, movie 2 will be show .Beside that,if i click 'previous' button, movie 1 will be show. i facing a problem that my previous button is not back to my previous loaded movie but is trace my choices in arrays backward. The next problem is, my first movie load to the second movie load will be a bit lagging. but the rest 1 is ok.
I have various movies clip within a movie and my back (mc = arr2_mc) and next (mc = arr1_mc) buttons are on the main scene.This is on my main scene on a first frame
when it goes back, it goes back frame by frame without stopping but I want it to go only to previous Scene. instead of going to previous frame.Do i have to create a unique button? which i did but i didn't work?
Am creating a two page document in flash cs4. Each of these 2 page documents have links to a learning resource on a web server.All I want is for the user to be able to navigate to and fro this two page document. Infact, I want to be able to click on a NEXT button to go the the nextpage and PREVIOUS PAGE button to go back to the previous page.
I am working on a school project that requires me to load external .swf or .jpg files. I currently have all of the buttons working and are loading an external .swf file on to the screen. The problem I am having is that when I go from one button to the next the loaded .swf stays on the screen and the next .swf gets loaded on top of it. I know that I need to unload the file but I am not sure where to put the code for the unload or what code exactly to use. I would like when the button is pressed to unload the previous loaded .swf and load the new .swf without having a separate button to unload.
im using cairnform framework as3 and i have a single swf file, and i m searching a while for back button to go back a previous screen with all data's which r there previously.
I am working on a project, an online document, that is going to require buttons for next page and previous page. I have laid out the document in InDesign and have created the buttons in Flash. My only problem is I don't know how to add that interactivity. I'm guessing it is just a couple lines of ActionSctipt but I am not sure.
I'm making a small site in flash which contains some basic scripting, and I ran into a problem. I'm trying to make 2 buttons (<<< and >>>) to browse through a certain part of this site, and clicking the button would bring you to the previous/next frame in the timeline.My script in these frames is as follows:
i want to load in the images in projects and then have next/previous buttons for each project to look through the different images for the project. similar to how it is done in URL... (except that uses javascript, and that slides, mine can slide or fade in/out.)I have got one project on its own working. But i am not sure where is best to go to get the projects loading one after the other.[code]and i imagine my as3 code will include a for loop to grab each project and get the first image out of it for each one. and then next/previous buttons will cycle through each project.
I'm creating a photo gallery. I decided on Flash technology. Everything is ok I just have the buttons to scroll through large photos. How to give them a level of functionality with ActionScript?[code]
I am having a very unique problem: I am creating a simple flash website, and I have a series of buttons that link to a series of frames. There are 27 buttons, and each proceed to a separate labeled frame. Each of the frames is a short animation 13 frames long. The buttons are all versions of this:
[Code]....
Then, 13 frames into the animation I just have a stop(); command. My issue is that if you click on any button in the series, none of the buttons that go to frames before the current one work. If I click button 20 and go to the 20th animation in the set, buttons 1-19 don't work, but 21-27 still do.
What's more, from moving the actions around to see if they needed to be in the same key frame as the button, I found that if the actions are in a single key frame in any of the animations, the animation stops on the frame that the actions are in. I also found that each button will only work once.
I am making a simple project ,a so called "quizz" .SO as every questions has wrong and true answers buttons I am wondering how do I go to the previous keyframe.Let me be more clear. I have this "screen" with a button that appears only when you click the "wrong answer" on a question,the screen has a button that will lead you to the menu to start a new game,but I realized that would be very ANNOYING ,because if we are at question 30 [we pretend] it would be very frustrating to start all over again.So I am wondering what code do I need to write to the Screen with the "start over" button that leads to menu to make it lead me to the question I Answered wrong. I want to say that I tried something like "on (release) { gotoAndPlay ("previous") ;} but didn`t work To be even more clear I will show you on this picture.
How can I get the previous focus so I can compare what is in the textInput to what the user should have typed? I am wanting to check after the user types in their answer and clicks, tabs, or pushes enter to the next box.
I made a full homepage which is working perfect in flash cs3, using as3, i upload it, and start navigating on the homepage, it still worked perfect, but the moment i wanted to go back to the previous page with the arrows in the top left corner of either explorer or firefox it jumped all the way back to my google startpage, what can be done about this, so visitors doesn´t have to log on to the homepage every time the click the arrows in explorer or firefox?In another forum someone recomended me to split up the pages and upload them seperately which i did but, the problem is that even though i organize my subdomains it doesn´t work it says that the link is broken.The link to the homepage is URL...Click on the spanish flag and you will see what i meen by not bieng able to use to arrows, and if you click on the brittish flag you will see what i meen but the link is broken, on which i used the actionscript 3 and the following text:[code]
i'm trying to seperate some xml data into seperate pages. six entries on each page with three rows and two columns. i got the data to go into two columns...now i'm just trying to set up the next and previous buttons as well as showing only six entries per page.
i created a movie in that i placed 4 slides in a layer1 in frame 5,25,45,65,85.i had created a movieclip a rectangle in shape whish is static in a layer2 on rollover the movieclip rectangle i placed 2 buttons one is "previous" button and another is "forward" button.on running this i want the button operations like the following1. on clicking the "forward" button the the movie have to go to the slide 25.2. from there if we click the "forward" button it should go to 45and so on.like this 1. on clicking the "previous" button from the frame 45 it should go to the 25 frame of the movie and so on.
every thing is working but what the code i write in the button which is in the (rectangle shape)movie has taking the only one action. ie., when i write on(release){_root.gotoandplay("25")}it is globel to all position on the button.so only this action can only is taking place.so i want the action script to be global and as well as my above constrains should also satisfied.
I have an flv intro and the flv background for the main area for the buttons, etc. I want the flv intro to stop after it's done playing and move on to the FLV video in the main area.
All FLVs are embedded. I haven't used any components. All the FLV movieclips are in the timeline.
My previous attempt worked but I guess it's the wrong way since I can't call my pages from the buttons anymore.
I've got a bunch of movieclips lying on top of each other like a stack. When you click one, it slides out, and comes forward. When clciked again it goes back and slides back into the stack.inside the movieclips iv'e placed:
Code: this.swapDepths(1);
along the timeline at a spcific frame.I need to make it get the same depth value as it had before I clicked it when it goes back. Basicly:
