ActionScript 2.0 :: Can Capture Image Using Web Camera

I'm making an online drawing application and I want to give my users a number of ways of uploading a picture to it.Is there a way I can capture a single image from a client web camera. Basically there would just be a video of the web camera input, (ie what they want to take the picture of) and a button that when they click it it captures the image. The image is then displayed in a movie clip in another frame.I was looking up stuff about this and saw flash communication server. I know nothing about this though, do I need it?Do I/Can I need to capture the picture, save it to the server and then load it into the clip?

I have a video display in my flex app. which is attached to the camera. The camera resolution can vary depending on the user's selection, While the video display (preview) dimensions are fixed. I am then doing this:
bmd.draw(vidDisplay);
Where bmd is the bitmap.. The problem is the resulting bitmap has the correct size of the camera settings (which is set) but the capture from the video is always the size of the video display inside the bitmap.. I hope i am making sense. The result looks like a little picture inside a bigger image top left justified. I want to have a video display preview with fixed height, but be able to take snapshot with varying resolution.

Is it possible to capture the image loading event like when the image is fully loaded and such when it is assigned to the htmlText of the textFiel???
I have a scrollPane that contains a textField which is loading an image via img tag where there is no scrollbars initially because the textField is not large enough in the beginning, but it is larger than the scrollPane after the image is fully loaded.. and I am trying to update the scrollPane once the image is fully loaded..

i have an ongoing project something like this [URL], same concept, upload image and the template sits above the uploaded image then save to the server. The problem is it only saves the template and without the uploaded image. So how can i save the template with the uploaded image? something like a screenshot on a specified width and height? Im still exploring actionscript specially as3.

image_mc is the container for the uploaded image since i want to edit the image then save the image with the template as my border or something like a picture frame (container_mc). I am capturing camera on flex for android using air 3.1,and found that the camera is only showing the a part of of actual camera video.When i view camera using normal camera application in android galaxy tab, it shows full camera area but when i am capturing the camera in flex its showing only the center area for it.I tried using setMode to set the resolution, but its not of any use.Is there any way to get full camera area captured inside flex using camera.getCamera ?

From a Flash object, I would like to be able to detect the presence of a webcam that the user might grant access to, without actually asking the user whether they want to grant access. This is to streamline a large application that has extra features if a webcam exists — if there is a webcam, the application will present several dialogs that lead up to the normal cam-security prompt, but if the user doesn't have the hardware, I want to skip over them altogether. Requesting access to the cam before those dialogs won't make sense to the user.
It appears not to be possible to call Camera.getCamera() without the security prompt happening. Is there a workaround? (For instance, could I, perhaps, call getCamera in a hidden Flash object and inspect its return value, or does it block until the user acknowledges the security prompt?)

I have a video capture device on a machine. I have written a windows application to capture the video from this device. While capturing, if i try to broadcast using flash it does not connect. If i'm already broadcasting and then try to capture then my windows application does not get the capture pin of the device. So, flash seems to be taking the capture pin. Is there anyway to broadcast using the preview pin on the device so that i can capture using my application. Or is there way where i can split the capture pin and give one to my app and one to the broadcaster

I have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.

How do I capture events of an obj behind another?I have a button(btn1) which I am applying a tween to. This tween is responsible for fading the btn out using the alpha prop (to 0). Behind that btn is another (btn2). I am having trouble leaving btn1 in place (same x and y) and being able to press on btn2. I have removed the eventHandler for btn1 but it's still blocking the other button. Other than creating another var and checking in the tween on complete handler is there any way to leave btn1 in place but be able to click through it??

I'm developing a web project and it need access client's web cam and capture images then store them on the server. And i found silverlight 4 can do this,,but the problem is my project runs on the .net 3.5 server machine (i can't change it) , so i cant use silverlight 4. Any one has idea about how to do this in asp.net? (It's ok with me flash plugings or anything)
