ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading A Frame At The Top Of The Browser Window?

Jan 8, 2012

Each page is on a separate frame, link/button actionscript consists of gotoAndPlay(x), etc.

I have one product page that has enough content to where you have to scroll down in the browser window to reach the list of products. Each product image is a link to a more detailed description page/frame. My problem is this: when I scroll down in the browser window and click on one of the product links, the product details page loads, but I am still halfway down the page in the browser. I then have to scroll up to view the content. If you need to see what I'm talking about, go to villajerada dot com, click on Olive Oil, scroll down and try out one of the product links.

I've tried several approaches to resolving this, listed below:

1. External Interface Call:

(In Flash)
//ExternalInterface.call("scrollTop()");
//var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("javascript:window.scroll(0,0)");
(In the html document)

[Code].....

Results: No matter what I do with this option, my browser always opens a new tab. I'm trying to build a site that will work with everyone's browser, regardless of their settings, so changing my own personal settings to resolve this isn't a solution. All I know is that I've tried several versions of it after reading other forum posts. Ideally, I wish that there was a way to navigate to a URL that ends up being a null object at the top of the page.

Professional :: Center Flash Movie In Browser Window?

Jun 28, 2011

how to horizontally center my Flash movie in the web browser window after publishing?

A bit of background: I was able to achieve this using <center></center> tags a few years ago. But I have since upgraded to CS5 and I understand that this old method is now obsolete.

I have found a few threads/forums that address this, but I know nothing about HTML and these threads don't help me because they assume you have more knowledge than I possess. When opening up the index.html file in Dreamweaver I can't find anything that looks vaguely familiar to what is being discussed. I have found some code samples using <div></div> tags but have no idea where to place it.

So I will need it explained to me in a step by step fashion, including which file I need to fix and what program I should use. Code samples will be very welcome if you can tell me exactly where it goes.

i am creating a website for a band, with an mp3 player. i want to be able to make an mp3 player that pops up in a separate browser window. the mp3 player would have a "playlist" that can be dynamically changed from the main window, which gives a list of albums & tracks to choose from. the model for this is Rhapsody's web interface. so, how would i go about creating & dynamically changing the playlist (while music is playing) across multiple browser windows? the "playlist" would be an array of references to mp3s, i guess-- so is there a way to pass events & variables across the windows?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Move One Item In The Movie As The Browser Window Resizes?

Jan 16, 2010

I've got a movie with a "next" button. The movie is approximately 1330 px wide. The "next" button needs to move left and right within that width as the browser window is resized. For instance, the browser window starts at greater than 1330px wide so the "next" button is at the far right edge of the movie. The user then resizes the browser down to 800px wide. The "next" button needs to move left to 800px. The entire movie can't resize, only the "next" button in that movie must move.

Here's a link the movie as it currently is. The "next" button shows up after the 2nd click in the sequence. It's the brown arrow on the right. http:[url].....

ActionScript 3.0 :: Proportionally Scale Movie Clip To Fit Browser Window

Feb 11, 2010

I'm creating a simple liquid flash site layout with one MC that does not scale and remains at a constant position, and one mc that should stretch to fit either the height or width (whichever's larger) of the stage, but scale proportionally. I thought I had a pretty good grasp on the code for that, but when I put it in, the mc doesn't scale at all, in fact it just disappears! Could anyone take a look and let me know if you see what's wrong?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Make The Flash Movie Resize In The Browser Window?

Mar 12, 2005

I'm working on a school project. It contains a main section which has 7 buttons. Each of these buttons is a character which you can zoom in to, see who they are, click and see a small cinematic/animation and proceed to it's respective section. I have a couple of concerns.

1. What is the best way of loading my project? I've been thinking of using the loadMovie and have placeholders, each section with a progress bar. what should I load when?

2. how can I make the flash movie resize in the browser window using actionscript ? so that I have no problems with screen resolution sizes. I use 1280x1024, but I guess there are still people on 800x600(which is lame) Here is an example of the resizing I mean: [URL]

Setting Movie Scale Adjusted To Window Size When Viewed In Browser

Jun 5, 2009

I have created a fla file in adobe flash cs3. This contains a mainstage with a menu (is a movieclip) and a background (actionscript gradient). I have set the movie to scale so that when it is viewed in a browser it will be adjusted to the size of that window.

My problem or what I want is the following :
- The menu and text of that menu must stay the same size, as created in the fla file, when a scale is done.
- The content of the movie(not the menu) must stay in proportion.

An example site that I found, that demonstrates what I want is [URL]. You can change the browser window size and the menu text size stays the same but the content goes in proportion of the window size.

IDE :: Dynamically Changing Flash Document Dimensions?

Apr 22, 2005

I'm creating a website that requires full flash. Within the file structure of a main swf there are other swfs being loaded into it (ie different pages). I need to be able to scroll the content of these swfs in the browser window.So say that the main swf is 800 x 600px and I load the initial page which is 800 x 500 px. This obviously doesn't need to be scrolled when viewed in the internet broswer. However, when the user clicks to go to another page it might load a page of 800 x 1300 px which is larger than the first and so needs to be scrolled in the internet browser. The main swf in which these pages are loaded into is only 800 x 600 (and even if the HTML dimensions - when put on a webpage - are set to 100%, the swf being loaded into the main swf doesn't have an impact on the size of the main swf, of which the browser goes by for scrolling.

I could of course just set the size of the main swf to the height of the largest page and have the browser scroll a whole lot of nothing when a smaller page is loaded, but aesthetically its not too great. And since I don't want the entire page to reload when a user clicks to go to another page I've got a problem on my handsI was thinking of using a script that would dynamically change the html object properties (height value) to the height of the page the user has clicked to go to.

Possible To Add Blank URL Window Dimensions To Button?

Sep 25, 2010

I've just finished working on an extensive HD intro for my website, which is in 1280x720 resolution.

At the moment, my site has a splash page with 3 buttons on it:
B1) opens the site in fullscreen mode
B2) opens the site in normal window mode
B3) opens a new browser window linking to my intro

Here's the AS code I'm using for my intro button:
Actionscript Code:
intro_btn.onRelease = function() {
getURL("[URL]", "_blank");};

I'm wondering if there is a way to somehow specify in that code segment what dimensions I'd like the new window to have? I know this can be accomplished in JavaScript with something like this:
Actionscript Code:
<a href="javascript:void(0)"onclick="window.open('[URL]','height=1280, width=720,scrollbars=no')">intro</a>

I've already tried putting the intro on it's own separate HTML page, but because of resolution and other background contrast issues, I've found that it undoubtedly looks best in a window that is resized to its specific dimensions, rather than having extra space around the edges, top, and bottom.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing Browser Dimensions?

Dec 4, 2011

I'm about 99% done with a site I'm working on and the client just hit me with a low blow.The designs that I got from their designer were a certain dimension, so I built the site with the assets based on those dimensions and now that I'm nearing the end of the project, the client seen the site on their 13 inch macbook and freaked out "everything looks too big!" is what they said. Is there a way to resize assets based on browser size without having to go in and do too much modifying? I tried looking this up, but I got a bunch of Event.RESIZE responses which I don't think I'm looking for that.

Professional :: Adobe Media Encoder Export Settings Window Dimensions

Feb 8, 2011

I'm on a macbook pro, osx 10.6, using CS4 Web Premium. I used to have an external monitor hooked up which had much higher resolution, so when using Adobe Media Encoder I'd click the Settings button on a video to get the Export Settings window, then stretched the Export Settings window to be the size of my external monitor. Now, I'm just using my laptop, and the export settings window does not have the resize buttons at top left to adjust it back to the size of my laptop, and the bottom third of the export settings window is getting cut off so I can't see the cancel/ok buttons etc.

I've tried re-installing media encoder (via reinstalling flash using the CDs) to try to 'reset' the window sizes, didn't fix the problem. If anyone knows of any other preferences or something I could delete to fix this,
