View 2 RepliesI'm building a site to showcase various engagement tools for the web. Most of what is involved is new to me. My biggest challenge is finding the right AS3 code to make buttons link to URLs. when I try to duplicate it and change the btn name, in order to make two, or three or four separate links to four unique buttons I get an error about trying to call the same function more than once. This is her code and as I said it works for one button link. Can it be made to work for multiple instances?

I'm using Flash CS3 and want to create a custom ComboBox. I've followed the steps outlined in "Editing component skins in a new document" (http:/[url]...), but every time I get to the step where I drag the ComboBox Assets folder from the HaloTheme.fla library into my library, if I test movie at that point my combobox has become an unclickable white rectangle with no label, button or anything.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to set a specific list item in a mx combobox to have a custom item renderer, the problem is that I cannot do this via mxml, it needs to be done via actionscript at a later stage, eg: combobox gets created, combobox gets populated, user does other tasks, combobox needs to set one or more items in the combobox to have icons (via item renderer)..
I can do this via the onChange event, but it only applies the icon when the combobox is opened and there is a slight delay so you can see the icon being added.
How can I validate there's a selected item in a ComboBox before saving? If there's no selected item, how can I set focus on the ComboBox?

I can easily edit text and such with the XML file, but I'm trying to imbed a youtube video on the second page of the site, but for the life of me I cannot locate the second page in the .fla file.How can I locate allt he pages within the site? I've tried moving the 'playhead' but that didn't work.I found what I think is the menu that contains the links to the differnet pages in the site. Needing a testing server I installed Apache 2.2 and PHP onto my Windows XP Laptop. That went great. However I can't run flash modules, like, for example, a video player streaming an FLV.
I was only able to install Apache and PHP by following directions, but don't really know much about such installs.
What do I need to do to make Apache run (display) flash?

The thing is I'm using a script I bought from Activeden.net which is awesome and works great for displaying external webpage's within you flash site.
However, there are a few issues. If you visit the link above (WEMI) and navigate to either "Till salu" or "Frmedlade hem" you'll notice that the popup is not positioned in the middle. Also, the popup only goes away if you interact with it, such as scrolling down or something like that. You can't just click on another button, say "Kontakta oss" and continue navigate. I just won't go away.
"You can call setInvisible(); through the popup reference (in the example called p) and to center it you can add a resize event listener to the stage and in the callback function set the x and y of the popup"[code]...

View 1 Repliesi created a flash slideshow with pictures of events and link each picture with its own event (ie. each pictures has its own links to the website). I created the fade in and fade out effect using the class motion tween. With the link, I created a layer with a button that has alpha= 0 (so the user don't see it) and then I used code snippet to make another layer with the action script "click to go to url."
When the slideshow goes to the last picture I made it fade out and the first picture of the slideshow would show up and then the slideshow would replay itself (by default?). My goal is to make a continuous slideshow.
When I tested the swf file, the first time it runs, everything is right. The urls and the pictures are in correct order. However when the slideshow replays itself automatically, I notice that the links are incorrect. In the first play, when I click the picture of the event it would open the url of that event.However when the sldieshow replays, clicking the pictures would only open the url of the first event picture. When I click on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.pictures the browser opens only the link of the first picture of the slideshow.

I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:

The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.
Is it true that Google cant recognize text paragraphs etc within a flash website ? Theres been mixed opinions about this whereas im able to see it identifying text within flash homepages that ive made. Is this because the text is also stored into the html counterpart when we hit publish ?
Of this is true then google cant see text in .swf files that contain text but load into a container flash file. Eg. the home page contains the html counterpart. But then hitting enter loads another swf into the original html home page. In other words the file thats been external loaded doesnt have a html counterpart. Then google cant see text thats within those loaded .swf files ?
