Is there any way to open a folder in Windows Explorer from Adobe AIR?
It looks like these APIs won't be added until AIR 2.0, but until then are there any workarounds that can be used to enable this feature?
here comes Explorer destroying any attemp of web design. I've made a flash menu for my joomla site. The menu works great in FF but guess what, this doesn't work in IE 7. This is the simple line of code: navigateToURL(new URLRequest("[URL]"), "_blank"); In FF after the fb button is clicked it goes to the link in a new window....but in Explorer this doesn't work. If I leave it by default: navigateToURL(new URLRequest("[URL]"));
Same result: FF yes - IE7 none What do I must to code in orther to that "Pseudo-Browser" opens a simple New Window. Sorry about the tone but I'm about to cry cause there could'nt be something simplier than this line of code.
I am trying to have multiple links off site but have hit a brick wall. If I have the code listed below, it opens the second link as soon as you open the links page, If I have the"function onLinkClick (evt)", above btn6_btn I end up with the duplicate error message. Is there a way to have multiple link buttons on a page. I have played with this for hours.

I'm building a site to showcase various engagement tools for the web. Most of what is involved is new to me. My biggest challenge is finding the right AS3 code to make buttons link to URLs. when I try to duplicate it and change the btn name, in order to make two, or three or four separate links to four unique buttons I get an error about trying to call the same function more than once. This is her code and as I said it works for one button link. Can it be made to work for multiple instances?

I have populated the box using and array by using the .push method & bound the data box via the .dataProvider method...
View 2 RepliesAfter moving from Windows XP to Windows 7 noticed this behavior in my Flex application. In IE8 when a user clicks on a link in the SWF file it uses the navigateToUrl api to open a new window pointing to an external site. This works as expected in XP on IE8 . However in Windows 7 clicking the link will open a new tab, this new tab however sits in the background therefore it is possible that it may not be noticed by the user. Also the content in this background tab does not always load fully unless you clear the cache. Has anyone come across this issue with Flex and Windows7/IE8? In the navigateToUrl function i pass in a param of _blank.

Now, when you're holding it over the folder, the folder highlights.How can I recreate this effect in Flash MX? I have a "tile" movieclip, and a "container" movieclip. The tile is meant to be dragged into the container. In the situation where the tile is being dragged and held over the container (ie, mouse button has not been released), the container is meant to change colour.

I know that most of the media in web pages are temporarily stored to a temp folder or browser cache. Some are directly embedded in web pages so that we can see the source and can save them. But how to save images loaded using any other method? You can see what I am talking about here. Is there any solution to save images from this site's gallery?

Now, _top, _self, I can't get anything to work for what I want to do. What I'm trying to do is make it so when I click a link, it opens it in the SAME tab. I have seen many (dozens) of these problems, but none seem to help. When the application starts up - the mx:HTML is set to a certain size, but can be enlarged if the application is maximized. I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.
