Windows :: Flex - MXMLC Throws A Java.lang.NullExceptionPointer When Compiling In Windows (not In Mac Nor Ubuntu)

I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.

I've been porting a Flex 4 codebase to iOS using the adobe packager, but have run into a snag when trying to package our whole codebase. The packager runs for a while and then throws an OutOfMemoryError - even if I increase the java heap size to 4GB. No single piece of code seems to be causing the problem, as it compiles successfully if I cut out large chunks of code, and I can change which chunks I'm omitting. I did have the capability to compile my mxml files via the browser on my local machine. I've had to do a reinstall but now I'm having problems trying to compile.My current setup is:
WAMP 2.0i
- Apache 2.2.8
- PHP 5.2.8
- MySQL 5.1.36
FlashDevelop 3.0.0 RC1
Win XP
I've tried compiling in Firefox 3.5, IE8 & Chrome but all receive the same error:

Server error is: 'Error occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.lang. NoSuchMethodError: flex.license.License.(Ljava/util/ Map;Ljava/lang/ String; Lflex/ license/Logger;)V'
I've followed the instructions from adobe:
http:[url]....I can compile without an issue via CMD but I prefer to use the browser as I find that much faster.

I'm having an issue with the PDF displaying outside the viewable area of the mx:HTML control in Flex. When the application starts up - the mx:HTML is set to a certain size, but can be enlarged if the application is maximized. I'm using Flex in Flash Player 10 on Windows, using FileReference to load a file into memory, as below.My issue is that when a file is locked by Windows, my FileReference is not giving me any feedback that the file is inaccessible--it simply never dispatches any events after my calling load().Does anyone have insight into how to tell that Flash Player is unable to open the file?

From an Adobe Air application, I need a function to launch the Windows Virtual Keyboard (c:windowssystem32osk.exe). I tried the Native Process, but it didn't work when telling it to execute cmd.exe /C osk.exe. How should I launch the keyboard application from an Adobe Air application?

I have a mp4 file which is to be used in an application. Currently i am in the stage of figuring out the technology to be used for this job. I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player

I have a flex application (.swf) and want to create a projector file. When I choose File-> create projector I get the .app file because I work on a Mac. I know I can create both projector formats for windows and mac using the export feature in Flash Professional. But this is not an option since it's Flex.Is there any other way rather than switching to windows to create the file?

I downloaded the Flex 4 SDK from Adobe and extracted the contents to ~/Documents/flex4_sdk.
Now I have the following simple MXML file:

When I compile it with mxmlc /path/to/file.mxml, I get:

However, the resultant SWF file is blank. (Basically just a white canvas.)

we're having a strange problem on a project here. When we use NetConnection in combination with a NetGroup to initiate communication between two local AIR applications on Windows XP, they always both connect to the NetGroup succesfully and detect each other as neighbors. These applications can connect and send message to each other without a problem on Windows XP. I have many photos (converted to buttons) in a movieclip. This movieclip slides continuously across the stage in which the speed and direction are dictated by the mouse's position.I want these pics to be hot and when the user clicks on them a fixed-size window (html page with larger image) appears. I added the javascript and altered the published HTML but the windows popup with no controlled settings that I placed in the getURL script assigned to each button. I am working on a short animated story, which has a scrubbable timeline and chapter headings. I used TimelineMax for sequencing it. For the most part, it is working fine. I am seeing some strange behavior that pop up, though: sprites disappear, functions stop responding to user input, seams of the sprites become transparent -- all small issues but pretty hard to nail down because they happen in Mac only.
So I am wondering what is wrong with Flash, and why it misbehaves on a Mac?

Im using mxmlc to compile as3 on ubuntu linux. I've donwloaded flex4_b2_100509, just to use the most recent stuff...so Im typing 'mxmlc file.as' but it just hangs on me... it doesnt return anything. I checked running processes ('ps -e') and its showing both mxmlc and java as running, which tells me the compiler started. after a while the shell reports a 'segmentation fault'l.

I'm on a RedHat server, with a simple PHP page that has a form, with inputs for name, phone, and url. When the form is submitted, I run a command to compile a swf using mxmlc. The command is this :

Both directory and files have been CHOWN'd for ownership and CHMOD'd for 775... So what am I doing wrong to get this to work from the web page? Should I have a forked process and wait until it's complete? Sleep?

I have a tiny actionscript "project" consisting of two files, call them foo.as and bar.as. For reasons I won't go into, I really really want to build the .SWF from the command line, without setting up a formal project of any kind. Every compiler I've ever used lets you do this, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to coerce MXMLC into compiling these two files and linking them into a SWF.
Naively, I try
MXMLC foo.as bar.as
but I'm informed that only one source file is allowed.supposing I compiled these two files separately, how would I link them together to get the final SWF?
NOTE: The only reason I have two files instead of one is the requirement of only one class per file. I tried putting both classes in one file and making one of the classes "private" or "internal" but neither of these ideas worked. I would be ecstatic to find out I can put more than one class in a file (with only one being public).

So I have a project comprised of multiple modules and I'm trying to work out the best way to compile, with minimal code duplication.
I have a core Framework SWF and a number of sub applications which are independent of core. In addition I have a series of common library SWCS which core and subapps are dependant on.
I'm not sure the best way to compile this project so that each module does not need to include the libraries as this would duplicate code. Would love some advice!
I started out with using external-library-path for compilation, but something is going to have to include the common libraries.

In my flex AIR application(with systemChrome=false & showFlexChrome=false) I am using ApplicationControlbar as the title bar with title text, close, max, min, button. It work fine on windows platform. But I have problem on MAC platform. My application shows close, max, min buttons on right & title text on left. But my requirement is on windows it should be like it is & on Mac the title bar should show close, max min buttons on left.
I tried to identify the platform on which the application is running but I was not able to get that. I don't know how but creating two css & applying accordingly would work but don't know how to implement it.
