ActionScript 2.0 :: Disable / Cover Background When External Page Loaded

May 3, 2011

I have a full screen webpage with an elastic bg that is created mostly through AS, XML, and external .swf's. The main menu links to pages (other external .swf's with dynamically loaded content) that look sort of like popups over the graphic content of the main background (img2). There are two problems, 1) there are other buttons on the main page that the user can click when viewing a page and 2) the popups come down directly on the content and make the whole site look rather flat.

I am trying to create a background for each of the pages that has the same elastic qualities as the main page (so that no matter what it will cover the user's entire screen) and will disable all of the buttons beneath it. I tried adding a rectangle beneath the pages other layers, however any script I write for that mc (such as the onResize _mc.width and _mc.height or ._x and ._y) is completely ignored in the main timeline and the rectangle messes with the popup page position -- img3. Also the buttons beneath the rectangle are still active.

Professional :: Background Image To Cover The Whole Browser Window?

Aug 12, 2010

I have a white stage and my background is non-solid/non-uniform.  My flash project will be my whole website, therefore when a browser window is larger than my stage, the stage color (white) shows in the background.  Its basically a white border on the left and right.  I wish I could continue my background image to cover the whole browser window.  What I want to do is:  if needed (if the browser window is larger than my stage) continue my background on both sides by taking a copy of my background image, flipping it horizontally, and placing it on both sides of my background.  If you can imagine it, this will give a more uniform continuation of the background. I'm guessing actionscript would be the best bet?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Disable External FLV File From Playing Until Fully Loaded?

Mar 12, 2010

In my project I have five video files that I need to all play simultaneously. I'd like the user to be unable to play them until they are fully loaded, because of course streaming would mean they wouldn't necessarily be playing at synchronized times any more.

So I need to load them all entirely, and have a single button that the user clicks to get them all to play simultaneously.

how I can make a 95% black MC cover everything on the website page (full screen onResize) so I can present an externally loaded image by itself? I have seen this done before in a few flash portfolio websites but I can't seem to find the solution on any previous thread. I may have missed some threads. is there an actionscript that can do all of the above without having to resize an MC?

Actionscript 3.0 :: Make The Background Dark When External Swf Is Loaded?

Mar 1, 2009

I have a main stage (its a background image + buttons) and when I click a button, an external swf is loaded in the middle of the page, on the main stage.

I would like the main stage to become inactive, dark and blurry... (you know what I mean?)...every time I click a button and the the external swf appears. Then when I click on the blurry area (main Stage), the external swf disappears and the main Stage becomes normal and active again.

How could I do all that in AS 3?

All I have now is the code for the button, to open the external swf file:

Code: Select allcontacts.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, Contacts);
function Contacts(e:MouseEvent):void {
var loader:Loader = new Loader();

ActionScript 3.0 :: Getting An External Swf To Be Loaded On A Page In Main Timeline?

Sep 25, 2011

I'm about 10 hours deep into getting an external swf to be loaded on a page in my main timeline. I've gotten as far as loading the external swf (within the first few hours) hahah but now, have spent twice as long trying to get the external swf to be removed when a person navigates to a different page of my main timeline.

I have a videoplayer on one frame which is my "video" page. I've gotten the external swf to load two different ways, for example, the latest code i am using to load the external is below and seems so nice, clean and simple:

var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("VideoPlaylist_HV.swf");
var loader:Loader = new Loader()
loader.load(request);
addChild(loader);
loader.x = 180
loader.y = 50

But I would like to add a function that says on any mouse click event (navigation) close the swf that is loaded.

If any of you genius people out there can help me, please do. I thought getting it to load was going to be the hard part but I was wrong. I am very discouraged by Actionscript in general.

download what i have so far, i left alot of the content out so the file size isn't big. And yes, i am sure once you see how I work you will be sure that I am no flash expert. I can send a link to the .flas, the site won't allow me to post the link as I am new.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Swf With Buttons That Open External Swfs Which Completely Cover The Main Swf?

Jun 12, 2009

I'm building a website that has a main swf with buttons that open external swfs which completely cover the main swf. The external swf has a close button to return to the main swf. My problem is when the external swf is open the buttons hiding underneath on the main swf are still active. I want to add code to the button on the main swf to disable itself while opening the external swf. BUT, I also want to reactivate them when I close the external swf. Is there code I can place on the close button of the external swf that will communicate to the main swf to reactivate its buttons? It seems so simple but this is the trickiest part for me.

ActionScript 2.0 :: [Flash8] Place An External Swf File On It In A Desired Position When The Corresponding Page Is Being Loaded + Scaling

Aug 18, 2006

I have a flash file (a flash navigation bar actually, which gets loaded in all the webpages inside the website). What I am trying to do is place an external swf file on it in a desired position when the corresponding page is being loaded. I am using FlashVars (variable name -> 'movieName') to pass the name of the movie clips. These variables are read by the navigation swf file and the corresponding swf file should be loaded in the area specified. Now, to create a container, I am using createEmptyMovieClip() method which will host all the external swf files.

The swf files are all being loaded but with a lot of problems. First, no matter what I try, the swf file comes at a fixed place (which is way off from where it is supposed to be). I have tried checking if the container loaded the movie before fixing its position but it changed nothing. Although it did change the position of a weird background colour box I am getting when the movie starts loading - which brings me to the second problem.

A rectangular box flashes once when the external swf is loaded, and its position is being affected by whatever I am setting the _x & _y values of the container movies to. I have no idea why it is happening as it doesn't happen when I test that swf seperately.

I've produced a Flash Flipbook.  I works the way I want it to except for one thing.  In one of my flipping pages I've created a movie clip inside which consists of an animation. The animation plays fine but when you're about to flip to the next page it replays the movieclip (even though I've put a 'stop' function at the end of the movieclip).  I don't know whether I have to create a function at the top level so it disables the movieclip after one page flick?  Or is there another way that I can make the movieclip just play once after flicking to the next or previous page?[code]...

There are some explanations within the actionscript:

ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash Flipbook - Disable Movieclip After One Page-flip?

Aug 16, 2010

I've created a flipbook in Flash. It pretty much looks the way I want it to except for one thing. On the 3rd and 4th page I've created a spread where it has have a movieclip playing inside the pages. It plays fine but everytime you're about to flip to the next or previous page it keeps playing the animation inside the page. Obviously I only want it to play once. Even though I put a 'stop' function inside the movieclip it still loops the animation. It looks like I have to set a function at the top level so it disables the movieclip after the first page-flip. Is this possible? Or is there another way that I can make the animation stop looping when about to flip pages? I could only attach the actionscript in word doc as the fla and swf where too big to attach. If you're happy to look into it I can email it to you.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Temporarily Disable Loaded .swf?

I have different swf's as different pages on my flash based website. Only one swf is visible to the user at a time.Once a swf is loaded it never unloads. To control which page to display I use alpha 0 or to 100 for the swf's movie clip holder instead. I use a blocker to prevent mouse events from clips (swf's) underneath. The problem is that the pages underneath still are active. For example you can use the keyboard to access these underneath pages. I want the pages to be completely inactive when they are not on top. The blocker only fixes the mouse event problem.
