i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

How do i change content on a page each time a user visits or refreshes the page? example: the icon on kirupas header changes when the page is refreshed or re loaded. I have searched using dynamic content, but didn't quite find it...I only want to change 1 image..

Unfortunately it won't work to have the preloader loading at the top while the rest of the html below is visible — it will end up looking like the top navigation is cut off, as the top 10 pixels of the nav bar is actually in the swf header (fully loaded it will look contiguous)Is there a way to preload it in one html page and then once it's loaded into the cache automatically jump to the page with the big swf?
View 1 RepliesI have an animated logo swf file that loads and runs once on the home page every time the page loads. The logo has been updated to appear in three different colour schemes. I want one scheme to load and when the page is refreshed or revisited, one of the other colour schemes to load in its place. They can appear in any random order, just a different one to the one that played before reloading.Can someone point me to an answer or tell me how to do it? I have found a way in JavaScript but this only works on plain images, not swf files.

If I have an HTML splash page that has a embedded SWF consisting of a preloader (for itself) at the start of its timeline, then a 5 second hold (no new Flash material), and then have a number of images on HTML page in a <div style="display:none;visiblity:hidden;">, all set with sizes of 1x1:2) Does the SWF get priority with the download, or are both the SWF and images given the same download priority?3) How would I preload (on the splash page) a second SWF that is used in the inner page? Would I embed it as usual, but use the CSS display:none, and set the size as 1x1, as I do with images?
4) Is there a better way to preload the SWF, where the main (splash) SWF actually loops while it downloads the second swf? Would I be loading that second SWF into the splash SWF on a different document level? What ActionScript commands would I use for that? loadMovieNum()? Would I put the incoming second SWF off stage, or set its visibility to hidden?I figured I'd preload some of the interface/common graphics for the inner HTML page that the visitor is brought to after the initial Flash splash page. Even without a preloader that would loop until all the content is loaded, I figured I could just have the splash page hold for a bit, and give the hidden <div> images a chance to load in the background. Obviously, using that method wouldn't guarantee that all the imags load, since it's unmonitored, but would at least give them a bit of a head start

I have an flv file of an interview and I want to have the user go to another site after watching the interview. Sort of like a getURL on the last keyframe, but when I imported the flv into flash, I only get one frame.

The problem is the movie seems working when there is a alert on, without at least one alert msg, the code does not work, I am sure you people can solve, I can see that the following code works well in both Mozilla and IE, but only if the alert is ON, if I put it off, then the code does not work. View 4 RepliesI am writing a mp3 player and having some issue getting the song length before the entire song has been loaded - which messes with my position indicator, as it needs to know the track length. I thought I could get the length from an ID3 tag, problem is ID3.TLEN returns undefined, though if I right click the track and show properties, the summary tab shows song duration, bitrate, etc... how I can retrieve the song length before the entire thing has been downloaded?

View 7 RepliesWhen i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page.
