ActionScript 2.0 :: FMX - Flash Movie Load To A Random Keyframe In A Timeline When The Page Loads

Dec 6, 2004

i think i may have a challenge for you. I would like to have a flash movie load to a random keyframe in a timeline when the page loads. Basically, i'd like to set up a timeline with say 10 movies. When the page loads, i'd like the flash to randomly select from some predetermined keyframes (obviously where each movie starts) and when that movie ends, jump to another section of the timeline. This way, the loading of the movies is somewhat seamless and it looks like i've made 10 different flash movies.

Even if it's not possible to all load from the same timeline, i'd like to have it play the first movie, then when it reaches an ending frame, it loads another random movie from a directory on the server, and then keeps going and going until it can't stand it anymore.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Display Random Image Onload From XML?

My question isn't directly related to a random image or xml but I'm using it in my example. really want to know how to load an image when the swf file loads. Please have a look at my example and you'll see what is wrong. It's a little funky resizing the border at the moment when the file is loaded.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Logical Placements Of .load() And .onload()?

Aug 16, 2010

I got the following code from Adobe's 'Serverside ActionScript Language Reference'. Here it is:

myLoadVars = new LoadVars();myLoadVars.onLoad = function(result){    trace("myLoadVars load success is " + result);}myLoadVars.load(http://www.someurl.com/somedata.txt);

My questions is, if the purpose of the onload event handler is to confirm if the load operation is a sucess,than should it not be placed after the load command? In the above code, the onload event handler appears before the load and yet it works.

Jquery :: Resize A Flash Object Via JQuery Onload Of Page?

I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page

If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player.Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?

ActionScript 2.0 :: [Flash 8 Pro] Load Random Array Element And Loop For Random Intervals?

Sep 30, 2006

I want a movieclip consisting of a dynamic text box that, from the time it's loaded onto the stage, loads a randomly selected text string from an array, and continues to loop until the clip is removed from the stage. I also want the text strings to appear in the text box for random intervals between 500 and 3000 milliseconds.

While I've found tutorials here and elsewhere on loading one element from an array, usually triggered by a button, I don't know how to combine/alter it with the other elements.So I want this movieclip on the stage randomly flashing phrases from an array, some for a barely perceptible time, and others for a readable time.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Putting Data Into An Array Via XML And Then Selecting At Random An Image String To Load In A Pic At Random

Feb 11, 2009

I've been putting data into an array via XML, and then selecting at random an image string to load in a pic at random. But whilst doing this, I wanted to remove the String from the Array that I have just used, so I don't get repetition of the same image in the output. I initially thought that pop would remove the string I had just used - But of course it Removes the last value in the Array instead, which doesn't really help.

Ok - so how about randomizing the data once inside the Array, after it has been pulled in from XML!? That way I can load in the 'last' image, and then pop it out! Keeping a randomized selection of images each time 'it' is loaded

Javascript :: Getting A Flash Video On New Page Load At Position It Was At On Last Page

Oct 11, 2011

I have a an unobtrusive flash video looping in the background of a website, it is not essential to navigation - it is purely cosmetic.The flash video loops every 30 seconds.As this video is on all pages, it jumps back to the start when a new page is loaded.Is there an actionscript / javascript way to get it to remember the position it got to on the old page so it can start there on the new page?I do know that this can be accomplished by loading the flash movie in a frame as well as by having the subsequent pages load the contents in AJAX but I was hoping not to go down this route.I have seen other people ask the question and allude to the solution but they only posted that they got it to work without saying how.

ActionScript 2.0 :: "onLoad" Function In .swf Doesn't Load When Called By "loadMovie"

Jan 8, 2010

I am building a portfolio website in which I have a main page and there are links (movieclips) on this main page. When these movieclips are clicked, I use "loadMovie" to load the respective subpages in .swf. I have an "onLoad" function in the subpages but the script within the "onLoad" function never got processed. (The "onLoad" function is used to resize images depending on browser size) However, I have other "onMouseMove", "onResize" functions, and they work fine. In fact, the "onResize" function has basically the same code within as the "onLoad" function, and they got processed just fine.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Gallery Page With A Bunch Of Page Numbers - Click On A Page Number, The Over Script Should Stop Until Go To Another Page?

Jan 26, 2009

i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

function over(event:MouseEvent):void {
this.gotoAndPlay(30);}
function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....

ActionScript 2.0 :: Load A Move 'button By Button' Or 'page By Page'?

Jul 30, 2003

i have some preloader frustrations..dont point me to a previous preloader thread...i have been there already and no im not talking about any preloader that loads the WHOLE movie at the beginning, i know how those work... I need a tutorial/explanation that will teach me how to load a move 'button by button' or 'page by page'.

By this I mean, the first thing the movie will do is load the first 'page' and say you have a few more buttons on that 'page'. It loads all the buttons and that 'page' first..nothing else...then i click one of the buttons (no matter what order) and the 'page' switches to a preloader and then when the second 'page' is loaded, it is displayed.So many sites have this kind of preloader...but i cant believe how many tutorial sites only teach how to program the type of preloader that just loads the WHOLE movie.
