ActionScript 2.0 :: Dynamic Text Shows Locally But Not On Site?

I have a dynamic text box on the _root level of my movie that loads an external text file. When I test it in Flash (MX2004) locally the text shows up just fine. But when I upload it to the site it doesn't show at all. I'm exporting as Flash 6. I just want to display as html text and not embed font (if possible). Also, there are no masks on the _root level.
Here is the code to load the text:

I downloaded a XML based website flash template and made some modifications to it. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Then I asked my friend if it could upload it on his server to check if this website looks the same on the web. I noticed that text (which is written with custom font that was included) is either missing or misplaced.
I tried to emblem font, by putting it into my fla lib, but it get me nowhere. Maybe I didn't do that correctly.
PS. I was working with this tut: [URL] I got myself up to the step "Creating a new Font symbol instance using ActionScript". Text in my template is imported from XML file, I don't know where to apply any AS code to make text load with embedded font. However I find this tut for AS3 while my template is AS2 one .

I am brand new to flash and AS3, and everything else code related. I've built a simple file with text and audio. The audio is an external file, and it plays with a mouse click. Everything tests fine in flash. I also placed the file in Dreamweaver and previewed in a browser - that's working. But... I've now uploaded the file to a live site. The text shows up but it doesn't play.
- I have a dynamic text field inside a movieclip called 'newsbar' - I have a mask called 'masker' - I masked the movieclip newsbar as followed: newsbar.setMask (masker);
BUT now the text inside the dynamic text field only shows up half!To fill the dynamic text field I used this code: inhoud.text = "this is a text message";inhoud.autoSize = "right";
I have a dynamic text box with instance name and Var set to page_text. Then I have this code:

Before I get current_page and total_pages. If there are more pages, everything works fine and it shows like "page 1/5", but if I have only one page, it shows "_level0.page_text" instead of "page 1/1". current_page and total_pages trace correctly.
So I am relatively new to Flash and After Affects but I managed to make a nice video with Adobe After Effects that my friend wanted to put on his site. After I was done rendering it I used Adobe Media Encoder to make the .avi file into a .f4v file for flash. After opening that flash file with Flash i exported it out into a .swf file. When I opened the .swf it played perfectly, just the way it should. I edited my index.html with Dreamweaver and the coding and everything seemed fine. After previewing the index.html with my browser and Dreamweaver's Live View I was quite satisfied with my results. When I uploaded the files onto my site the flash did not play. It plays locally on my PC but not on the site. I later asked a few more experienced buddies what was wrong and they confirmed that they weren't able to play the file locally nor from the site. At first I thought I may have mixed up the links but they were fine. Here is the code I used for my index.html page.
I have my XML Data Displayer referring to an XML feed on the web, it works fine when I run it locally, however it doesn't work when I run it off my site.There's no missing files- since I'm referencing to an XML feed on the web.How can I solve this problem and display XML data from the web, on the web?
getting this here Flash website to work. It is an .swf that has four different buttons in it. Each different button uploads a different video thumbnail with a play-button over it. When you click on that thumbnail with the play-button over it, it goes to the thumbnailed video which automatically plays. Here is the link:

There are no bells and whistles with the html, it's just tagged and uploaded with the Fullscreen-true so that you can make the video go full-screen.
But see, when I upload the thing, the buttons no longer navigate to the different videos unless the play-button over the thumbnail is already pressed and its video is already playing. I need them to work anyways.
I am having an issue with my recently created flash site. I have loaded and tested this site on many different computers. There is a preloader which shows percentage of site loaded and bytes loaded. As far as I am concerned everything works great. When the owner of the company I designed the site for goes to check out things he gets an infinite load percentage and the site never shows up, only the preloader screen with an "infinite" percentage. The only difference between his setup and mine is he uses AOL online.?
I have an AS3 file that pulls an XML feed from a site. All the file does is display a number in a dynamic text box. On my desktop it works fine the feed is parsed in the output window and in the dynamic text box, joy! I upload the file to the CMS we are using and, no joy all I get is 'Loading' in the window. I get Loading because I input that in the tf so it wouldn't be blank.
So the question is, is there a fundamental flaw in my code or is it more likely to be the CMS? Im hoping it is the code, otherwise it is back to the drawing board.
I'm trying to create a simple banner ad where the mouse hovers over the button and a panel shows up over some content of the site.[URL]I have two different .swfs: the container, which is the button and a loaded swf that has the animation that comes up when the button is clicked. The button is only 183 x 40px where as the loaded swf is 183 x 160px.When the loader swf is loaded, it takes the dimensions of the button.
Is there a way to have the loader swf be its original dimensions, so when the mouse hovers over the button, the loader swf covers some of the content on the Web site?Also, how can I change the MouseEvent to load the SWF when the mouse is only over the button and not clicking?

I have a client that is wanting me to create a flash website in which they can add products pages (product info, images, etc.) themselves after the website is completed. I will setup up the first few products then they will do the rest. Would I wanted to go with dynamic text and empty movie clips loading the images? If so how could I have this create a duplicate page that refers to the new text and image?
Although I have a long experience with AS2, I am just stepping in AS3 now. As should be expected, I have bumped a few issues here and there, that really puzzles me.
One of them is the way to correctly name a variable dynamically. In AS2, as far as I know the only way to do that is with _root, like that:

I have used quite the same way to do that in AS3, like that:
Code: for (var z=0;z<=5;z++) root["myvar"+z] = z;
However, it doesnt seem to be too good, because it just allows me to create global variables. What if I want to create local vars into the function? I tried to remove the "root" and use "var" statement but ActionScript doesnt like that (it tells me that there is an identifier missing before the left bracket):

What is the trick to do that... or simply THERE IS NOT a way to do that, but always declare dynamic vars as public??
In Flex Mobile Project, Text Input shows blocks instead of showing arabic text. Labels are working fine with Arabic.
Is there any way to show Arabic text inside text input?

Since, it is for flex mobile project, when I input any text in arabic, it shows separate characters. Arabic is a language that doesn't have separate characters. It should combine letters to form specific word.
I want a user running a Flash game on his machine (not from a server) to be able to save some game data locally.From what I've read, there still isn't any way to do this, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone knows a sneaky xml or php work around.
I know nothing about server-side anything, but I'd like to be able to put some simple data into a text file on my own hard drive with flash. I'm guessing its impossible, but is there anything I can install that will do something with the post method of loadVars to receive some text from flash?
ok, heres my prob... I got a textbox with a external file with html... this is working fine ! the problem is, that the textbox (with a scroller) shows only the 1/2 of the whole text.. is there a max of characters to put in my .txt file ? is there something to put it longer...
I'm building a small scroll component for a text box, which loads text dynamically from an xml file. I've got it working fine, apart from the fact that if the text isn't long enough to fill the text box, then the scrollbar still shows up - I don't want it too! Is there any tips / hints or even a snippet of code that someone can offer? Basically I need the scroller to only show if the text is bigger / longer than the height of the text box.
I have a problem with a clear interval command that only half works,when i select the the high button the interval clears but when i reset the high button the interval starts again,also the interval does not stop when the low button text shows low.I get the trace action but no clear interval.
Ok, so i have this problem with text dissapearing if i use one font, it shows in one textbox, but the other ones are odd, they either show 0 or 1, or the first letter only, or nothing at all. What's the problem?In the beggining i tried to ignore the problem by changing the font or the font style, but now, it's becoming to ugly if i use too many different fonts.
I have downloaded an xml gallery (as2) as we needed one for an old as2 file. Now I mostly use as3 but thought as I only needed to tweak it there would be no probs. Of course, it rarely works out that way. The problem is, text loaded from the xml file is displayed with its corresponding image. This works fine in the file.When I load the SWF into another SWF however, it all works EXCEPT the text doesn't show at all?? Whoever made the gallery used 'device fonts' in the textbox, I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I tried changing the textbox to dynamic and embedding characters but still nothing.

I am colorblind.I need to change either the color of the background or the color of the text on the layers section on the Timeline.I simply cannot read/see what is currently showing.It is a very light blue background with white text and white dots for seeing, locking, or setting the outline color.I need to either change the text color and dots to black so I can see them, or try to change the background color to a dark blue so I can read the white text.Changing the text color would really be my preference. Adobe hasn't been very concerned about colorblindness when developing these products. I can barely make out all the light grey/grey/dark grey/grey stuff.

i already set a Textformat to my dynamic text with i tryied to play with the "Leading".. but i think it something dealing with paragraph. how i can decrease spacing between paragraphs??
All I want to do is add text from my string to dynamic text field when I click dynamic buttons. What should the as code be for this? Here is my code. Right now I just have the click returning another shape.
