ActionScript 2.0 :: Externally Loaded Sound Works On Local Machine - But Not Online

I'm using loadSound to load in external MP3 files and they load and sound great on the local machine but don't work when I upload the files to the web. I'm pretty stumped. The MP3 files are only like 10k and 60k so it can't be a size issue (I'm on a T1 line here at work too). Here is the site: [URL] Basically when you walk close to the fire you should hear the fire crackling and it will get louder as you get even closer. Everything works on my PC, just not online. I am loading 2 external text files into my SWF.. I believe that my action script is correct as it works pefect offline.. However as soon as I uploaded it to my webspace, both text boxes have the "undefined" text sitting there.. The problem doesn't exsist when I only have 1 external text file loaded..

I have made a preloader showing the progress of dynamically added images. The code works fine when i play the movie on local machine, but when i play the movie from the server bytesTotal is always 0. It even says 0 after the images has finished loading. what i'm doing is basically: createEmptyMovieClip() , i then use a movieClipLoader to load jpeg into that empty movieclip. the movieClipLoader has a listener attached and with the listener i use the function onLoadProgress() to display bytesLoaded and bytesTotal all of these things occur within one function.. bytesLoaded works fine both on local machine and from the server

When I run it on my local machine it works just fine the way I expect it to. However when I put it on my website, it does not work at all. I have another flash file (.swf) on my webpage which is just a simple countdown timer and that works just fine so I don't think this problem has anything to do with MIME types.
Here is the code I used to embed the .swf file onto my website:

Neither of these worked. I just have no idea what I am doing wrong. I don't know if there is something I should be coding differently in my actionscript. I am very new to AS programming. how to get the .swf file to appear on my website would be great.
A have a external SWF file that contains an instance of an object that will be used across multiple projects. It's accessible as a public property of the external SWF.When I load the external SWF file using the Loader class everything comes in fine but when I try to assign the value of that property, which traces out as an instance of the correct object, to a local variable the local variable is always null.Below is a dumbed down sample of what I'm trying to accomplish:# Object Class
how to assign a volume control component available in the video components library to an externally loaded swf once it's loaded into my main flash movie? I want to feature the volume control at the bottom of my main flash so that when you click a button to load the swf that volume control will be able to start controlling it's volume. Also, I want to be able to load several swfs and once each one is loaded--only one playing at any given time--into the main flash that same volume control can control them. Is this possible and, if so, how do I do it?I'm using CS5.
I�m creating a .swf that loads another .swf using a Loader and a URLRequest in AS3. The problem is that the external .swf has music in it and I can�t figure out how to disable it. I don�t mind just disabling all sounds, but I haven�t been able to get this to work either.
i am using flash 8 professional and making my portfolio site using xml with flash. when you click the red buttons on the right, thumbnails appear on the left (and when you click those, more thumbnails appear, and then you click those and the image appears.) on my machine it works properly, BUT when i upload it, the thumbnails appear and then erase themselves (all except the first two). it's inconsistent and totally weird. i changed some of the code, tried messing with the publishing settings, and re-uploaded and nothing changed. a friend who works at an actionscript company said it doenst make sense that it works differently on my machine than online. she also confirmed that the way i embedded the swf in the html is correct
Finally got this project all wrapped up and working perfect, and was feeling pretty proud of myself, and then I went and posted the exact same .swf on the web and it doesn't work anymore. Specifically, there are a bunch of icons which I hand placed into the FloorMC - which then attachMovie a copy of themselves into a LegendMC and UtilityRefMC, but they dont seem to be attaching anything when I run it through a browser.
I have an xml driven swf enbeded in xhtml page that plays fine when tested on local machine through dreamweaver CS4 but once uploaded to site, swf won't load. The music plays however so I know it's not about the linking.
Is it possible to save images in to local machine while loading images in a flash component from a server. I think it's possible to save images in to local machine using actionscript3. I wen through the flare 3d tut and got everything working in Flash Player 11.1 embedded in a HTML document, however it does not work when I try to view it once it's been placed on a web server. I can open the html page from my local machine and it runs just fine.
i wonder if it's possible to load an image to a flash movie from your local hard drive without uploading the image to the server?
eg: loadMovie("C://yourImage.jpg");
it works fine locally, but once i upload it to the server, the image won't be loaded.
the reason is, i want to build a flash site that allow users to create an e-Card using their own image from local drive. i don't want users to upload anything to the server.

In order to get around this I have installed php+apache to call an external file that writes to a file. I have created the crossdomain.xml and put it in the root of the web server on my local machine.
However, I can ONLY run the flash file in the flash program AND IT DOES WRITE TO A FILE. If I publish it as a html I still get the security error msg. Now another requirement of my program is as the user interacts with my flash application it changes an xml and the page should refresh to show the changes. But because I can't run my flash program as a html file I can't refresh the damn page! I'm half thinking of setting up a vm machine as a pretend server to get this damn thing working. Then I at least have the server + client model.
I have a videochat app (as3) developed in CS5, when I test the movie (ctrl+enter) it compiles and shows no errors, then I upload the file to the server and does not work at all. the xml paths are perfect, in fact when I go to the page on the machine with FLash CS5 it loads fine, but from a friend's computer does not work at all.

I have an actionscript file which provides me with xml data. But I m not being able to save it to the local host machine. The code i m using to save the file is just the normal one i.e

I've tried saving the data as byteArray first n saving it in a xml file. That didnt work. I've flash player 10 installed and I m working in Flash Professional CS5. I have also used a hex editor and changed my swf file's 7th and 8th bits from 09 to some A0 as directed in a website but I m always getting an error which is

I want to use this Flash MP3 player URL...on my website to play my music compositions. It is a fantastic player, but it is caching the mp3 files to location "C:Documents and SettingsuserLocal SettingsTemporary Internet Files" on the user's machine.Is it possible NOT to cache the mp3 files to the user's local machine.Pls let me know if there is any other flash xml mp3 player which has the same functionalities.
I want to know how to save some variable values into a local machine... as for example a save button. Then the user plays the movie again the variables show up as he left them. I think this is done by SharedObject or something like that...
I've been given a bit of a dog to work on. I'm upgrading a flash presentation that runs via an xml feed. I've added several dynamic flash graph generators external swfs through this data feed but can't seem to pass a query string to the flash presentation via this xml feed. This query string provides an alternate XML datasource for the graph generator.s
I would really like to be able to pass this query string as the current flash graph generators are running off a hardcoded xml filename and I would like to offer some flexibility. I've investigated further and the main presentation loads these extra "slides" with the loadMovie AS which should accept query strings but NOT locally. Is there a workaround to make loadMovie work with query strings locally? I can't run the presenation on a server!!

Is it possible to turn off sandbox checking when developing on a local machine? I know this could never be allowed on a production version but publish and upload after every edit?
