ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash Magazine Front And Back Cover On Website
Nov 16, 2006
I'm looking to slideshow or flash my magazine front and back cover and some interior pages on my website. So they will show the different pages back and forth.
how I can make a 95% black MC cover everything on the website page (full screen onResize) so I can present an externally loaded image by itself? I have seen this done before in a few flash portfolio websites but I can't seem to find the solution on any previous thread. I may have missed some threads. is there an actionscript that can do all of the above without having to resize an MC?
I have a project (see attached) where I need to have the folders seem like they are floating in space, and I need the best way to make it so when you click on a back folder, it slides off the screen and come back in front of all the folders.
I've developed a website and on the home page there is a series of css/ javascript dropdown hyperlinks. Some of these hyperlinks display a popup menu of further links on mousemover. Immediately below the hyperlinks is a small flash movie.
The problem is, when you mouseover the links and it displays the popup links, the flash movie appears OVER the drop links.
Is there a way I can either send the flash movie to the back using some kind of 'send to back' option like there is in dreamweaver? Surely I don't have to restructure my page to allow for this?
I have created a motion-tween with three images rotating in a flat circle from the foreground to the back. As the images move to the background, they shrink in size 25% and darken a bit. The motion has three stopping stages, with each image having a period in the foreground.
I am having an issue figuring how to make the images in the front to overlap those in the back as it rotates. I have tried placing each image on a seperate layer and placing the images on a single layer but it doesn't function the way I hope.
I don't understand how it's possible to have a lot of objects on the stage and be able to manage the motion tweens with all of them, but ALSO manage which objects are in front and which are in back of each other. I have a military type animation and there is a lot of action going on, and there are times where I need some of my guys to be in front of objects, and times when they need to be behind.
I don't know how to manage the objects in regards to layers and motions in a way so I can get the objects in the order I need them to be (like which item goes in front of the other).
Does anyone have any tips or a way that I can manage my objects and motions and be able to sort them on the stage so that I can arrange the objects how I need them to be in regards to placement and which should be in front of other objects?
Is there any way to make a clicked movie clip go to front, and then when released, go back to it's original position?
I've been reading about swapDepths and a few functions that allow to bring to front the MC, but nothing to return them to their original positions between the layers.
Can this be done? Or is it any way to make it look as it?
Is there someway that you can arrange movieclips in as3? Like when you right click on it and you can arrange "Send to back", "Send to front". For example I've exported 2 Mc:s to as3 and made a new instance in as3 by referring to the class I exported. So is there someway I can decide which one to put infront of the other one? If it's confusing my goal is to at some point bring one of the Mc:s to the front, and on another point bring the other MC so the front.
I designed a website using tips from [URL]. It's a single .swf. Nothing complicated about the as3 script. Mostly gotoAndStop commands to jump around the timeline to the different sections of the site. My question is how to set up the site as individual swfs for each "page" so the back and forward buttons on an internet browser will function. I've seen samples of loading external swfs but it's not clear how to write scripts to jump around various pages for a website. Here's the website: [URL]
I'm new to flash and have been trying to figure out the correct software to use to make a video for the front of our corporate website. I want it to look like what is found on www.athenahealth.com, but can't seem to find the software the does this. Is it Adobe Flash? I haven't been able to figure out how they make it with viewer controls (elapsed time, pause, etc) and embeds seamlessly in the website (as opposed to the videos that pop up in a lightbox).
Can anyone provide any insight into the software used by Athena Health on this site?
Is it possible to make the flash content go back to some previous frame when the user clicks on the back button in the browser? Similarly, can the the refresh button be used to refresh to the same frame and not go back to the starting frame?
I'm looking for an extension/softwre to display PDF magazine with pageflip effect. It is not a problem to create flipping magazine with images. What about PDF?
I have a site with an SWF that I can put some metrics into, such as ZIP Code, Weight, etc.. then, it takes that info and gives me shipping rates.
I need to build a front-end site that I can have a forms page that will push data to the backend SWF, and then return the data back from the SWF to the front end.
im trying to make a simple animated news page for digital flash magazine, I want there to be several boxes on the page that are static until you mouse over them at which point they will start to animate. I have got that far i have created the symbol and i have build the animation inside of the symbol.In my actions layer i have put...
Symbol.stop();
Symbol.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, animateMC); function animateMC(evt:MouseEvent):void{ Symbol.play(); }
and that works the symbol is static until i mouse over and it begins to play the part im having an issue with it making the animation stop when you move your mouse away (MOUSE_OUT)
am creating a shooting game. my main class in first frame now i want to add the title in front of the game if a adding frame in front make it stop function. the game play runs what can i do?
I have this world map (.swf file) that I want on my home page(black background). It's up and working fine, but it flashes a white blank map for about 2 seconds when it first loads and then it goes away. It looks very ugly on a black background and gives off a sense of "cheapness". Anyway, it has got to go. I purchased the world map and they don't offer access to the original .fla file. So basically I want to know how to cover up the first few seconds of the video with black and then have the black cover disappear and let the flash file do its thing.
In AS2 when I had a button on an external page swf that was loaded into the main website swf and I wanted that button to go back to the main website swf main time line and change to a specific frame I just used ...
Code: _root.gotoAndPlay("$/pmp/engine/"); ...in the button's release code. How do I do that in AS3? I guess I just need to know how to get to the main swf since root refers to the external page swf's main timeline. Garrr this is annoying. My structure is this:
main.swf's main time line has a button. Click that button, it loads preloaderpmp.swf into a blank movie frame with the instance name container. preloaderpmp.swf loads pmp.swf in. In pmp.swf's main timeline there is a movie clip inside a movie clip which contains a button that I want link back to main.swf and go to the frame "$/pmp/engine/" once it is released. What can I replace _root with since this is AS3?

I'm making a flash game for practice and I have my stage set up so there are 9 boxes. When the game is started, one of the boxes is randomized as the one with the start underneath, if you pick the box with the star underneath, you win.
The randomizing code is
var star = 1 + Math.Round(Math.Random()*8.0)//generate a number between 1 and 9
What i dont know is how to attach this code so that it assigns the star to one of my 9 boxes made as buttons. How can I hide the star underneath the box as a cover.
I have downloaded free version of itunesViewer and working on it. I found it was extensively using onEnterFrame which is taking lots of CPU, slowing the system.there's function 'controlTheObject' which contains onEnterFrame code. eliminate the use of onEnterFrame. Can there be other alternatives??
I have a Youtube video on my homepage, and now I need a modal to display on certain events.For some reason, even when adding <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> to the Flash object, it still covers the HTML elements (with higher z-index too).I've got it on JSfiddle.I figured maybe an iframe could solve this, but that would require me to make a new page just to put the video on.
