ActionScript 2.0 :: FlashVar Pass Correctly In IE But Not In Firefox When Tested Locally

All I want to do is send the FlashVars to the Flash movie where it picks it up and goes to play the frame specified in AdFrame.
This is an odd one because it works perfectly when I preview it locally in IE. However, it does not work in IE when I move it out and tested remotely (tried it on two servers). It does not work in Firefox remotely or locally. I have the lates version of the js and I authored in Flash 9.[code]...

Is it possible to load xml as a flashvar? Basically I want to pull information from a server for a news ticker, but I want the info to be available as or before flash loads so that it appears to be instantaneous. Can xml be passed in as a flash var or do I need to break down the feed into individual vars that get passed in?
I'm not talking about passing a URL to flash, I mean that actual XML. Basically I just want all the data there and loaded on the same page as the flash so there's no load times.

Does anyone know how to pass a value to a child swf, loaded into a parent swf, from the parent swf as flashvars?
Have an old AS2 project that accepted flashvars from a HTML file it was in, but now it has to be loaded into an AS3 parent. Just need to know a way to pass some values to the AS2 swf that it is expecting as flashvars.

I have a program that uses a document class. The preloader.swf calls the main.swf. Problem is, the main swf uses FlashVars to set certain parameters. If I use preloader.swf to load the main.swf, FlashVars will no longer work.
So I need some way for preloader.swf to pass the FlashVars to the rest of the program.

I downloaded a XML based website flash template and made some modifications to it. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Then I asked my friend if it could upload it on his server to check if this website looks the same on the web. I noticed that text (which is written with custom font that was included) is either missing or misplaced.
I tried to emblem font, by putting it into my fla lib, but it get me nowhere. Maybe I didn't do that correctly.

I was working with this tut: [URL] I got myself up to the step "Creating a new Font symbol instance using ActionScript". Text in my template is imported from XML file, I don't know where to apply any AS code to make text load with embedded font. However I find this tut for AS3 while my template is AS2 one .

I've createa simple flash banner (FL10, CS4) that is used stored in multiple locations on a server, which is sent a relative path to an XML file via FlashVars. relative path images are then loaded from this xml file.the base class for the banner is.Thins all works fine locally and in IE but in Firefox it fails about half the time to trigger the loaderinfo Event.COMPLETE call.(essence of the Base class below:)

I am using CS4 and been learning to code in AS3.0 instead of 2.0. I ran into problem with pass variables from php to flash when I was coding a photo gallery that checks for existing directories. After LOTS of testing, it turns out I simply can't get URLLoader to work correctly. Here is what I have for testing purpose:

I have been looking all over online for working example of pass variable from php to flash in as3.0, but none of them seem to work in my situation.I have tried to remove the '&' in front of name1 as some post has suggested, and flash isn't able to detect the variable anymore. I have no idea why the variable name1 contains more than just the value in $value (e.g. '$value");' ), flash seems to correct everything right after '&'. I used to code with AS2.0 with loadVar and that was totally fine, I just can't get the code working in 3.0.

works perfect on my macbook pro (safari, firefox, and opera) but when I view the site on Vmare Fusion Windows XP and use IE and FireFox the pages don't load... I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone hear or seen anything like this happen before? BTW the website was created in Adobe Flash CS4/ AS 3.0 and published using Flash Player 10.

i have a 15 frame movie in flash cs4i have a bg layer comprised on inanimate movie clips (so that I can apply drop shadows to the objects)i have 4 layers of animated movie clips that have imbedded bone animations. when i say imbedded i mean that when i double click on them, i can access the bone animation. (Slightly different from the person's post below.)I have been using FLV-encoded short movie (1mb - 10mb) files with good success, but now I have encoded and uploaded a new movie (encoded with Adobe Media Encoder), and, when tested here on my computer, all works fine, I get the movie and the controller skin. However, I've uploaded the files to their proper locations, and when I go to the URL, the movie file will not load/play on the web page! All of my other previous movies (this is the same site/directory, no changes there) load and play fine. This new movie seems cursed. I tried encoding several versions, each slightly different.

Ive have a pre-loader that works fine when testing locally. But when uploaded the pre-loader reverses in all tested browsers apart from firefox (see attached image). I cant think why it would reverse like this especially after the document has been published. Its as if from somewhere the swf is getting negative values when loading the external file? How would that be possible. Local testing with traces show no such negative values..... :

For example: if i inicialize the flashVar with "1" and after set the flashVar to "0", everyOne knows that this flashVar has changed. the problem is if i have the FlashVar value setting in "2" and i set the flashvar value to "2", again.
There are any way to know if this flashVars has changed his value for the same value?

Ok so here is the problem:
Using MacOSX 10.4 Tiger
Flash Professional 8
Firefox, IE, Safari
I created a flash movie. All of the pictures fade in and out perfect. There is a button on each of the pictures and these buttons take you to the picture�s respective page. When I test the movie the buttons work fine. When I export the movie as (.swf) and try it again the buttons work. I am hosting it on a GoDaddy domain that has been purchased and am referencing it on another site that I own. When I embed it onto my website, the movie plays fine but the buttons are not functional. Here are the things that I have tried to rectify the problem:
- Tried exporting and publishing to Flash Player 7 and 6 DID NOT WORK
- Instead of:
on (release) {
getURL(http:// . . ._self)
}
I created a new layer and gave the button an instance name and used it as an action layer:
MyButton.onRelease = function() {
getURL(www . . . ., _self)
}
DID NOT WORK

As far as I can tell the AS 3 is to the T. But when I test it in dreamweaver some of the pdf's and all of the websites will not open. It says to make sure the path or file name is correct... but the names are perfectly fine.it may be a security sandbox issue, but I don't know how to check that let alone fix it.Here are some of the code samples.

I am new to flash. I am experiencing random (at least to me) errors (#1009) while navigating through my tested file. I can't reproduce them everytime. It only happens sometimes. Usually they occur after I have clicked back and forth between different pages (frames). Sometimes the error shows up once, and the file moves on as if nothing bad has happened. Sometimes the error continuosly displays, which really slows down the test.
One example of such:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at About28_fla::MainTimeline/clickResumeFromAbout()
The general structure of my file is this: I have pages laid out on separate frames with movieclips embedded within each other on the frames. Navigational movieclip buttons remain on essentially every frame. Three of them are: 'About', 'Contact', and 'Resume'. I wrote Listeners for each frame that go from that frame to any of the others. For example, to get from my 'Resume' frame from the 'About' frame, I wrote a Listener called 'clickResumeFromAbout', which is what the above error refers to.
The code in context:
