I was wondering if there was a way to make a movie clip act as a button only when certain criteria was met and then turn back into a regular clip when they are not. I have a gallery that has a zoom-in and zoom-out button. I have the clip dragable when you zoom in, but when you zoom out it is still draggable.[code]

I have created a flash website, each button is a movie clip with an invisible button over it containing the following script

each page is also a movie clip and on release of a button its played. the problem is that when i press another button to play another movie clip 'page' the old content is still there.
Is there a way of reversing the page transition i have used to bring out the movie clip and then bring in the next movie clip.
What action script would i need to make a button in one movie clip goto and play a frame in another movie clip? Im not very good at flash but i've been trying my usual codes but it dont work..

I am trying to move a movie clip containing content via AS3 tween with a button outside of the movie clip. I have achieved this effect on another project by using the following code:

So if I had say 4 buttons Home Gallery About Contact If Contact is clicked then I want the Home page to play (Which is a fade out) and then go to Contact Page (which will fade in). Exactly until you try again... if you move the mouse away from the mc (onRollOut), before the animation reaches the end, it goes bezerk.what happens and also how the animation can be done using only AS (with some for loop or function or something and chaning _x property)?

The idea being, that when someone clicks the button, I add a child to the top, to make it look like it has been clicked and is maintaining an alternate color. How would I code this so that it becomes a toggle? As, I need a click (once this action has been performed) that removes the child... just not sure how to write the condition for this.

I have a bunch of buttons each one with a roll over on it that trigger an animation. So far no problem. The problem is that as I would like to add to the buttons a behaviour like this: if you roll over the button more than 200ms the animation happens else nothing happen.
Here is my code:

But this isn't working because what getTimer actually does is return the time since the whole movie started not since the function star running. So my question is: is the a way to tell AS to start counting from 0 so that I can use the elapsed time as my condition to trigger the animation?
I've been struggling with an issue for a while now and can't find a solution. I've got a series of movieclip buttons that I have going between states on ROLL_OVER, ROLL_OUT and CLICKED. It's very straightforward - except for the fact that I can't get the CLICKED function to take precedence over the ROLL_OUT and I was wondering if there was a way to make the ROLL_OUT conditional on the click. ex:
