Is there any simple way to scroll a dynamic textbox with easing, without having i scrollbar visible? perhaps something that scrolls when mouseover? Every tutorial i found is with a scrollbar, and still i come across the kind of scroll that doesn't have a scrollbar!

View 1 RepliesI have an empty textbox with the basic scroll bar component. Nothing is in the text box so the arrows are greyed out on the scrollbar. I have a button that loads text into the textbox, but the component does not update itself to accomodate text that is larger than the text box.
how can I make it so that the scrollbar changes when text is added.....also If I put text in the text box in flash, when I publish it gets the scrollbar fine, but it will not adjust itself when I click on the button that loads different text into the text box. what happens is the scroll bar stays the same regardless on the size of the loaded text.

View 4 RepliesI am relatively new to Flash and have developed this application using AS3.0.I have a screen which lists file descriptions. The file descriptions are in a movie clip and the movie clip is added to the stage in a scroll panel (instance name aSp). This part I have working fine.The file descriptions movie clip is called AbstractDisplay and it is basically a textarea. When the file description exceeds the size of my box, scroll arrows appear. Again this is what I want.Now to the part I can't get to work. I want to be able to click on the movie clips that are in my aSp Scroll Pane. If I make the individual movie clips that I put in my scroll pane clickable, I lose the ability to scroll the text in the individual movie clips. Here is the code that I have so far. This code is within a loop and I'm only showing the code that sets up the movie clip.

Problem: When doing anAPP to test it out in my smartphone devices. I tested it on my computer and it works fine. But in devices, im not able to scroll the textbox down/up because my devices dont have a scroll wheel to scroll up/down.Assuming that im looking for something like this: When I use my fingers to touch on the textbox and slide it upwards, the textbox will scroll down

Currently the only way I have been able to get the text to display is either to use the textbox variable and declare that in the onload statement, or to put textbox.text = mylogin.message; on the actual frame.I doubt there is a way to do it, because the actual textbox hasn't be created yet, but if there were a way, that would be nice.

i have 2 set of textbox, 1 set of the text box contain 6 textbox and the other set of text box contain 12 textbox. how do i make it like for the first set of textbox to compare with the second set of textbox? eg. 1textbox1.text = 2textbox1.text and the first set of textbox right, each of the 6 textbox have to compare with second set of textbox which is 12 textbox.

I am loading a different external SWF into each one using Load External SWF behavior.Although each SWF is a different file, they are exact copies of each other (have exact same functionality); all 3 are text boxes with both scrollbar scrolling and mousewheel scrolling.Problem is, when on the stage at the same time, they all three respond to mousewheel scroll at the same time. I need them each to respond to users' mousewheel scroll only if the mouse is over the respective area (so that way they don't all scroll at the same time).The file was developed for me and the developer is not available at this time.

I wrote a short AS program to create a tileList and it functions fine, but I need to be able to scroll the list of pics according to the position of the mouse with out actually moving the scroll bar.... example of what I mean: the farther to the right mouseX is on stage, the faster my tileList scrolls to the right, if mouseX moves to the left of the stage, so does the scroll bar...Here`s my code so far:

View 3 RepliesI've gotten to chapter 5 in my AS 3.0 classroom book but I need to use wisdom today (CHAPTERS before I gain it for myself),I need to create a custom scroll bar with buttons that function just like the UIScrollBar but more visually suited to our projects. the boss demands it.
I found several tutorials on creating the custom scrollBar, however, they don't include the buttons and I'm unable to find a tutorial on how to create a button scroller (I figured I could link them both to my "info_txt" after creating them separately).

scroll pane loads scroll bars for the movie clip as soon as it loads the movie clip, so there is no scroll bars the movies height and width are one, but after its loaded it changes its size to bigger than the scroll pane, but the scroll bars dont show up because of the size of the movie clip when it was first loaded, can anyone help?

As the scroll pane fills up, it gets wider to accomodate the thumbnailsThere is one row, and eventually, I want to have the user be able to mouse left or right and have the scroll pane scroll, versus clicking on the bar or the left/right arrows.
