View 1 RepliesI got a dwg file converted into swf file. Now I want this swf file to embed in html page. No issue with that. The tricky part for me is to let the user select the entites of the file such as line/circle as one might select in autocad. After entity selection the swf file (by any means) pass the selected entity information back to the html page ( to the javascript function).

View 3 RepliesI was wondering if it is possible to create a flash movie that rotates values that are stored in HTML. For example if i have these 3 containers:

I want to have some flash movie rotate these values every 10 seconds. I don't want to program it hard into flash, it has to be variable. It has to display the first set, then after 10 sec the second, and so on.Maybe if it is possible something that stops the toggle, and skip to just the second, or just the third.I also don't want to use javascript to do this (jQuery etc.), because this conflicts with another timer on the website.Is there a way of doing this?

I need to ask your advice, I am developing a site where music is uploaded by unsigned bands.I would like the player to be developed in flash.I would want an area where you can search for music and also would like the user to be able to generate play lists when they are logged in.I was going to put the filenames into the database and use PHP to grab them and display them and then use JavaScript to pass the values into the flash player.But I think this will not work on the play list.So should I get the list of tracks using PHP and use Flash to display them?Or should I be using XML and not put the filenames in the database or even both.I have spent a bit of time Googling this and thinking about how I am going to attack this so my question to you guys is what would be the most efficient way of doing this.

View 7 RepliesI've created some dynamic movieclips. When I click and hold on one of them, I'd like a different library linked MC to appear, and the new MC to be draggable.
I can make the new MC appear, and I can make it draggable. However, I'm a little lost when it comes to telling Flash to forget about the old clip, and make the new one the 'live' one.
In other words - after a click-hold, I want the new movieclip to be movable without the user having to mouse up and then click again.

Unfortunately it won't work to have the preloader loading at the top while the rest of the html below is visible — it will end up looking like the top navigation is cut off, as the top 10 pixels of the nav bar is actually in the swf header (fully loaded it will look contiguous)Is there a way to preload it in one html page and then once it's loaded into the cache automatically jump to the page with the big swf?

View 2 RepliesI have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). The problem with the standard one is that it doesn't check to see if everything is loaded.What I'm after is a routine on my index page that invisibly loads some of the elements from my inner pages (common swf, maybe some of the images) and WAITS until it's done before moving to the inner pages (displaying the company logo and/or a load status in the meantime).Many people would suggest a preloader inside the common SWF on my inner pages (which I have), but the problem with that on its own is that it doesn't stop the HTML from displaying.
I'm trying to figure out a way to do a preloader (like those in a SWF, which loops until everything is loaded) that controls both the SWF AND the HTML.Recently, I found that you can use one swf to preload another, which would be a potential solution, as I could make an SWF on the index page whose sole purpose is to load (invisibly) the common SWF, displaying the load status and then loading an inner html page once it's done.Problem is, I have bee having trouble finding the coding for that, as most searches for preloaders end up being about standard preloaders, where it's monitoring the same SWF that the code is on, as opposed to controlling a second, external SWF.Can someone point me to or provide me with the proper coding/procedure for a preloader that controlls a second external swf or give me a better solution?
