The progress bar doesn't work if the .swf movie that's being loaded is being loaded into another movie. If the loader is on the main stage it works fine both in testing and on the internet.For example, I created a parent movie and a child movie with a loader and progressBar. The child movie works perfectly by itself. If I load the child movie into the parent movie the progressBar doesn't work.

I am preloading a .swf file using the Loader class (myLoader) and a ProgressBar (pb). When the progress is complete I would like to press the button (es_btn) to enter the site(make the externatl .swf visible). Currently, what it does is, the external file is loading and starts playing in the background before I press the "enter site" button, before I call addChild(myLoader);. How do I stop the external file from autoplay -ing and make it play only when I press the "enter site" button?

This is just a tad difficult to explain but here goes. You start out in the intro scene and it plays a movieclip (the intro) and below it is another clip that is a loading bar and percentage. Now on the main timeline it is checking to see if the percentage is 100 or greater. When it does it goes to the main movie. This all works fine. It's when you get to the main movie that it messes up. All the buttons and a/s work fine but 3. Its sorta hard to explain... Um ok here is the a/s that is on each button unless they dont open another menu.

Now I probably could use a for statement for the first bunch but that's not the point of this explanation now is it. Normally the movie is in frame 1 but when you click a button that opens a new menu it goes to frame 2 and makes sure all menus already open get closed. Hence the reversal of any open m/c's. Then if none are open it opens the new menu using the "per" value from the button. Now for the problem. When I click any one of the 3 buttons it sends the whole m/c back to the intro scene. Why? Any how do I fix it? If you need anymore info I'll be glad to post it.

I'm currently learning Flash (CS4, AS3) and am creating a game. I have currently 1 flv file with 4 scenes, I then move from left to right and then to scene 2 and go from left to right. This is the game where items pop up that need to be clicked on and you get points.
Is there any way I can combine these onto 1 scene? Flash only allows you to have a maximum of 2880px wide.The reason for this is the transition between the scenes is RUBBISH and that my AS is not working correctly in between scenes (it loses values).
i have a dynamic text which loads data from external file what i want is that based on what i click in the dynamic text the corresponding image should be displayed from the folder in the movie clip loader. e.g say dynamic text file has ball,bat,bird,sun these should be listed in the dynamic text area and when say i click ball, the movie clip loader should display the the image of ball from the folder.
I'm using a simple pre-loader which loads a nested MovieClip. Now I'm trying to use it on another project were the nested is a simple photo gallery were users can click on prev or next slides this works fine until adding the pre-loader if I just use a nest MovieClip with no user control it works as soon as I add a button to frame 2 it throws this error:

I have on my main timeline a movie clip (emptyMC) that I am loading my external SWFs into and I need to be able to access this loader movie clip from my menu, which is it's own movie clip. As it stands, when I have my buttons on the main timeline I have no issue. But once I put these same buttons into the menu MC I am lost as to how to "get back" to the loader on the main timeline to load and unload the external SWFs.Here is my current code that allows for me to load and unload with buttons on the main timeline. I'm trying to keep a fresh copy of my loaded swf's in the loader.content while I use a copied version in my main swf. What I'm trying to do is make a slide show using a master swf to load many other slide swfs. The first time through each swf plays just fine but the second time through there can be problems with eventListeners, etc so I want to trash each slide when I'm done with it and get a fresh copy when the user wants to see it again. I've done this utilizing the cache in the browser but I'd rather use the method below.

I know this should be do-able, but i am stumped... I created a row of movie clip buttons + eventListeners (CLICK) with a for-loop. i now want to take an array that consists of a list of swfs (i.e., var myArray:Array=new Array(); myArray=["thing.swf","dog.swf",more.swf",etc}--and programmatically assign a loader + URL request to each of the created movie clip buttons that will load the swfs on the button click.

I wanna set a custom skin on my progressBar, but it's not working out the way I want it to. My skin has 3 different colors on it (green, yellow, red) and green should show until it's about 50%, then I want the yellow to appear after green and the red at 90% after green and yellow. So at 100% they should all show.The problem is that the ProgressBar only sets the width of my skin so all colors are showing at all times. But if I use the indeterminateSkin but dont set indeterminate to true that doesn't happend.How can I make a skin that doesn't just change width? Atm I'm just using a MovieClip for a skin.
