View 1 RepliesI'm using the Flash CS4 IDE, and the first page of my site takes a lot longer to load than I want it to. So I wanted to go through the varied images / symbols / movie clips / sounds and so on to see where all the memory is being chewed up. When I go into my library, however, I can see the Name, LInkage, usecound and Type of my elements, but no mention of file size and I can't seem to find any right click menu that lets me add file size to the list of details being displayed. Is there a way to make it show file size? Or some workaround? And are there any best practices to reduce file size aside from using symbols for anything that's used more than once and reducing image and sound quality?

View 2 RepliesI am working on a model of the heart and have written Tween(s) that show a single contraction - relaxation of the auricles and ventricles. I would like to have this morphing action repeat upon clicking on a button and stop on clicking on the button again. It would also be great if the repeat frequency (fps), heart rate could be varied. I suspect something like this has been done before, not necessarily the heart, maybe like a squirrel running in a cage with variable speed.

However, Flash doesn't seem to want to have actionscripting within a button.
So what I'm trying to do is to make a button shake by having the actionscripting for it in an actions layer outside of the button.
I have event listeners that call my shaking function on MouseEvents: Roll_Over, Mouse_Move, and Mouse_Over. It shakes just fine unless the mouse is kept still on the button.
Is there a MouseEvent that will constantly call the shaking function I have whenever the cursor is on the button?

View 3 Repliesi have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. I just bought Flash CS5 for own computer. I already have CS4 on the computer at work. Unfortunately I get an error when I tried to open a CS5 project in the CS4 at work. My boss is unwilling to buy CS5. Is it truly so that you cannot open a CS5 project in CS4 or is there a way to adjust a project in both systems.

The files sometimes open, but then crash the app when I select something on the stage. In these cases I can actually edit the actionscripts.I'm not sure if the crashes are related to Leopard; don't remember if I tried opening one of the problem files since upgrading.I'm on a MacBook Pro 17 2.33, 2gb ram.I repaired permissions (several times), ran various Onyx processes, zapped pram, removed all the prefs files I could find, and reinstalled the whole suite (CS3 Master suite). Sometimes flash seems to execute two loops faster that one loop which contains all of the actions that the first two loops contain. Does flash cash processes so that repetitive processes are performed faster if they are performed back-to-back?

View 0 RepliesI am a graphic designer working on a project for a client at my office. We created a Flash brochure, with flipping pages and all the bells and whistles. This flash file will be put on a CD among other items, distributed to users on both PC and Mac systems. Within the flash file, there are hyperlinks that link to the web, but we would also like a few buttons to open up a Word Document on the user's computer for them to edit and print.
I've already seen in other threads a way to do it using executables, but to my knowledge EXE's do not work on Macs. Is there a universal alternative? Is there a way to do it on Mac and we can have two separate versions per CD?
I was using Flash MX 2004, but I thought it was time to update so I got Flash CS4. All my old files work when working in Actionscript 2.0 but then when I try and open using AC 3.0 everything dissapears but still remains selectable. The is no old actionscript in the file at all, so I thought maybe it somthing to do with the movieClips.
