how do i get my pages to shake in browser when loaded.I can't remember where i saw it before but i did see it before i went to the site when the site loaded my entire screen shook like an earthquake it was pretty cool it made me feeel like my monitor was shakin.

So if the text I was loading had 175 characters in it, the textField would show the first 50 chars, with a counter "page 1/4". Using foward and back buttons would load next/previous set of 50 characters.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to do a pretty simple effect here. What I originally intended to do was to put a simple shaking effect into the over and down states in the button itself on the movieclip that comprises its graphic.
However, Flash doesn't seem to want to have actionscripting within a button.
So what I'm trying to do is to make a button shake by having the actionscripting for it in an actions layer outside of the button.
I have event listeners that call my shaking function on MouseEvents: Roll_Over, Mouse_Move, and Mouse_Over. It shakes just fine unless the mouse is kept still on the button.
Is there a MouseEvent that will constantly call the shaking function I have whenever the cursor is on the button?

I have created a website with one flash animation banner.The banner .swf has 5 menus. Each menu goes to different movieclips inside the .swf file. and at the same time i want to load the corresponding html file when i click the menu button and place the html content into the bottom area of the main html page without refreshing the html page.

When I test the website in flash (ctrl+enter) everything looks perfect and works right, however when I view the website in a browser the movie is dragged all the way to the bottom of my page and mostly hidden beneath the footer.
Using AS3, and without modifying the published HTML file, I want close the browser window (IE/Firefox) in which my SWF is playing on click of a button. This is not a pop-up window that the SWF is running in. It is the main browser window.

1. What browser domain the current swf is executing in (that is, the page that hosts the swf is displayed in a browser, what is the domain of the page)?
2. What server domain the SWF was loaded from (ie, what the URL domain was for the SWF)?
I believe both of these I can get via javascript and ugly workarounds and pass them in, but what I need is actually to get these values (at least #2) from inside the SWF without relying on the javascript in the hosting page.
Specifically, what I'm trying to determine is if the SWF is executing in a page from the same domain as it itself was hosted/loaded from. I want to fork on this test and create different behavior for a SWF if it's "hot-linked" (that is, loaded onto a page on a different domain from where I host it).

On the very first frame in my .swf I have over 3.000 lines of code, mostly just a bunch of functions and variables.
I'm closing in to the completion of my game and I'm about to setup a preloader. However, I was wondering, how will all that code affect the preloader when the game is being loaded in a browser?
Will it cause a slight performance issue at the beginning or should I setup all that code on an empty frame right after the preloader?
I have a media player, which rotates images for the artist it plays. I load the images dynamically into the flash. The flash downloads the same images from the server over and over, how can i cache the images, so flash grabs them from a local cache and not from the server?
