I would like to know how to track my pages with google analytics to see which pages are getting the most clicks. My site is XML / Flash the menu is xml. Could I put the tracking code on each of the menu items in the xml file?

View 2 RepliesI got this code to use google analytics to track activity on my flash site but I am not exactly sure on how to use it. Do I place the code on all the buttons I would like to track or is there a way to embed this code into to HTML document that my flash site is embedded in. I figured because of the onRelease action that it needs to be on a button,but I was hoping that there my be a better way. (My flash site has a lot of buttons.)

Tracking should be independent of hosted page. So flash views should be able to recorded on pages that don't have Google Analytics code.

which apprently used to work, but since they've made changes this doesn't... during tests firefox navigated to a page with the url javascript:_gaq.push [URL] was strange. Do I need to even use flash to ask GA to track the anchor? Is there a way i can point GA to track all anchors that are part of my page?
I have a flash file and am using google's suggested method for as2 event tracking like so:

The problem is that instead of silently communicating, pageTracker._trackEvent() appears to return a boolean value. Every time I click the button which this is located on I leave the page I was on and end up on a page that just contains the word "true".how to get around this? It makes the flash unusable.

I'm trying out a page-flip program that tells me to create the pages as jpegs within a folder named "pages" in the Library. When I try to run it, it tells me it can't find the jpegs. I can get it to work locally by including the full URL (i.e., "...My Documentsedinnerpartiesimagesp3-large.jpg), but I know this isn't embedded in the swf file.

From time to time, I see an issue in IE 7 and 8 where the user logs into the site and the browser content pane is completely grey and the entire page (html, javascript and flash) won't load until the user clicks the X (Stop) button next the address bar. As soon as the X is clicked, the html loads and then the swf file loads immediately.
This doesn't happen for me or any other developers on the project so it is very hard to diagnose. The users are all using the latest flash player. The only difference between our setups that I can think of is that we have the debug version of flash player and they probably do not.

What I need to happen is if the user has ever clicked the mouse during the animation, don't run the code on the individual pages. How I have it now, it still executes when it gets to page 1,2, or 10.
I would like to add Google Analytics to my flash file. The flash file is contained in a HTML file, which I already added the script provided by Google Analytics. At the moment, when a user visits my site, regardless which page is visited, only the homepage is counted.

1. Background - 20 (Where layer stops)2. Template - 20 (home) 3. Buttons 20 (the "20" layers will eventually change once the site grows bigger)4. page two- 25. page thee - 11 (has 9 pages on its own)6. page four - 12 now, the pages only jump around ONCE I ADD PAGE 4 - which is a movie.The movie is an .SWF and works fine on its own. The movieload tutorial is correct and works. There are also buttons on page 4 with button commands - I removed them and tested the published website without the buttons but they continue to jump around.
I'll try again, but this time I can add a link to the .fla my issue is this - I am building a website but the pages jump around - they don't stay still like they should[URL] the file is called "all files" - the main .fla is called "history" - there are two .swf's "wagon" and "band" if you test the website (CTRL+ENTER) and jump around between the pages for 20-30 seconds you will notice the pages jump around like crazy by themselves.

When I test the swf locally it works fine. But the problem comes when I embed the swf in html page.The swf loads but does not show the content where it needs to access the TWITTER url to load the feeds.It doesn't load the feeds. It asks for the global settings to be changed.So, I have changed the settings and played the html page.I works fine.My question is when I will upload the files to a server the same problem will come and it will not load the feeds. How to solve this problem permanently?

I used it and it works. way i could specify a btn or mc in the loaded swf that will specify the "click" area where the unload content takes place? Right now if i click anywhere on the loaded swf it unloads (i want that to be specified).

View 1 RepliesIn my timeline I have different link hot spots, so that each product will link to a separate web page (externally).I don't think this is going to work:When I upload the Flash file to a server to test, the links show me the 'pointing finger' icon, but when clicked upon it does not even open another web page attempting to follow the link. - that tells me this doesn't work!I need to get this correct for when the final goes live. Every frame is a different page.I'm using Indesign to create this pages because its the best way to work with so many different pages.When I export the pages to .jpg everything looks and goes wel. Only the quality becomes very low when putting the swf to fullscreen.I've tried exporting it as .swf but is it wisely to put 103 .swf in a flash file? I'd like to keep the text vector and readable on every screen size.

Each time you go to a page the button seems to have to re-load creating a "white blinking" inside the cell. The background of the fla file is black and I have the table cell background set to black hoping thatbut to no avail. I thought once a swf is loaded it won't have to re-load. The swf files are the same on all pages
View 3 RepliesI am using a nested template by following the normal practice of creating a template, which I will call "core" and then creating a page from that template and saving it as a "nested" template. So far so good, except, when I update the "core" template, it only updates the .dwt template files that I created from the core template. It doesn't update any of my content pages that were created from the "nested" templates, that were of course based on the core template. I can go into each nested template and then it updates the corresponding pages, but it just seems like updating the core should do all associated nested templates. Is this the way it is supposed to work?
