Is there a way to go to a specific frame with in a swf that has been loaded to a new blank? I been looking round and can only find going to a specific frame within the main swf..
View 3 RepliesI have a dropdown menu that I'm learning to use from a tutorial. It's just a little over my head and am wondering if someone could help me. Here's my situation:
1) The menu has the title, DESTINATIONS. Submenu dropdown are a list of CONTINENTS. Rolling over CONTINENTS show COUNTRIES. This works.
2) Clicking on a Country should:
A) load an external swf into an empty movie clip :: Works!
B) go to the COUNTRY specific frame within that loaded movie clip. :: Doesn't work!
Here is a sample code from this menu, where it defines the fields that populate the menu:

how to direct the link in the menu in a specific frame in an externally loaded swf? I can do this on a 'normal' button using placeFrame, but because I'm unfamiliar with how this particular menu is made, I don't know how to implement what I know.

I have a swf movie that loads to my main scene using a preload. I have a button found on the main scene. When that button is pressed I would like to use the GotoAndPlay command to play a specific frame in that movie. How do I do this. my swf is called inter_mc.swf. I created a function for the button but somehow Im thinking I need to designate the swf in the goto code. This isn't working but it is what I have so far.

basically i have a container which I am loading in swfs, when you click on a specific button I want the loaded swf to jump to a specific frame.
I am using actionscript 2 at the moment this is the code on my buttons...

I have some xml text loaded to my flash site and i want to have a link in this text that when clicked loads a comment form that is in a different frame in the timeline. I have 3 movies 'page flip4', 'pageflip4-2', and 'page flip 4-3' . i need to change the colour of a graphic in a specific movie in a specific frame. if i have a movie clip instance-named "sidetext" thats 15 frames long, and i want a graphic in the movie, called "letterp" to change to one of four colours that i want it to randomly at frame 10 and stay that colour uintil frame 15, how can i do this?

I have used this method before to make a preloader. But this time for some reason the screen is blank until the movie is finished loading. The bandwidth profiler says I am on frame 0.

I have been comparing this to another project (that uses the same code)and it loads fine in Simulate Download and BWProfiler says frame 1 while loading. There are no differences in the Public Settings, or any other settings I can see...
I have a very simple flash movie. It has 6 images that fade in and out in a loop. I created the movie and when I play it in Flash using Control > Play (with loop playback) it all works perfectly, but when I publish it there is a blank space at the end of the movie before it loops through again. It only lasts a fraction of a second but it breaks up the smooth image transitions. I have checked and there are no layers that go past the last image, and there is a keyframe on the last frame of the last image.

this triggers the click of the button to return to the main timeline and stop on a specific frame. My issue is that if I click the button a second time, it goes to a blank (or different ) frame, a third click will return it to the proper frame. I'm doing this as some users I work with are mouse clickers, now this is ok if I use a button symbol, but I want them as movieclips. What script can i use to ensure that every click makes the mc operate the exact same (goto specific slide with no randomness)?
I am trying to use embeded fonts in a flash site, but whenever I use [Embed] the swf never loads. I am following this example: [URL]
No errors, just a "Movie not loaded" when right clicking the page.
UPDATE: When debuging, this error appears:
Exception fault: VerifyError: Error #1014: Class mx.core::FontAsset could not be found.
I am loading jpgs into an MC. I make sure I wait to run and modification to the MC by confirming the image is loaded first.If I comment out the IF statements within the function "RW_pic_modifications()" and I trace the width and height of the MC AFTER each photo is loaded, I successfully trace the correct W and H.
My issue, however is when I DO RUN IT THROUGH the conditions within the "RW_pic_modifications()" function. Then any modifications to the MC W and H seem to compound and apply it to each iteration of the next MCs.I confirmed that my code and logic is correct. I just dont understand why performing a resize to the MC with one jpg loaded into it is not reset to the NEW JPG loaded into it, after the new JPG is loaded.
NOTE - I have an MC that stops on a frame until all the code here is executed. Once complete, then this MC plays to allow the pic to stay on screen for a given amount of time THEN it calls on the RW_Pauser() function.I am way over deadline.

I'm using Fl for the first time and I'm trying to create a slideshow. Everything was going fine until I realized I had spaced out the different image timelines too far to the right. Now that I've moved them all leftward I have these blank ends that make the slideshow end with a long empty nothing. How do I cut those timelines off to eliminate that dead time?
View 3 RepliesI have a flex Air program that loads external content with the HTMLLoader.Now for some reason whenever I load a page that has any flash content a blank system window pops up outside of my program. It's completely blank, all white with min, max and close buttons.If I close it any flash content I loaded stops working. For the life of my I can't figure out what's happening and there's no messages in the console and no title for the window.

if its possible, via AS3, to create a frame label in a movieclip on a specific frame.
Obviously I can do it by manually by setting up labels on the timeline within the target movieclip, but I would rather use an array so I can loop through it, creating a label name on a the specific frame each time?
so for example I would end up with:
myLabelOne on frame 10
myLabelTwo on frame 25
myLabelThree on frame 115

I have a button that uses the Load Graphic Behavior for bringing a SWF, but i want the SWF to come in a specific frame instead than starting at frame 1. For examplel; i click the button, the behavior of Load Graphic brings my SWF to stage but i want to start at frame 50, not at frame 1.
