ActionScript 3.0 :: GotoAndPlay A Specific Frame Of Loaded Movie

I have a swf movie that loads to my main scene using a preload. I have a button found on the main scene. When that button is pressed I would like to use the GotoAndPlay command to play a specific frame in that movie. How do I do this. my swf is called inter_mc.swf. I created a function for the button but somehow Im thinking I need to designate the swf in the goto code. This isn't working but it is what I have so far.
I am making a flipping page book in flash and have had to create sections in different movies because it kept crashing when i tried to have all the pages in the same movie. I have 3 movies 'page flip4', 'pageflip4-2', and 'page flip 4-3' . I have used the code below to go (flip bacwards) from 'page flip4-2' to the frame label ''backflip'' in 'page flip4'..This works fine

I use many years as2.0 and there I write on(press) gotoandplay(4) and frame 4 it's play how I must write this in as3? I have problem with playing and stop frames.
I have a main swf that loads 2 external swfs. I click on button to see content of external swf #1 and see stuff. I do something that causes external swf to show other stuff (i.e. not at beginning state)
In the main swf I click on button to see content of external swf #2. External swf #1 content is made invisible and I see content of external swf stuff. NOW, if I click on button to take me back to see external swf #1, I see it's content in current state. I want to force it to start over again at frame #1 which will reset content.
However, no matter what I try, I can't seem to control which frame to go to in external swf using gotoAndplay.
I want the user to click two specific buttons (order doesn't matter), then gotoAndPlay a new frame. In other words, the user must click two buttons before going to the next frame. I've been trying different methods, but I am honestly not brilliant with conditional statements or booleans. Button1 then Button2 = next Frame

I am new to ActionScript 3.0. I am trying to create a button that will jump ahead to a specific frame, let the animation run, and then stop before reaching a specific frame. I have the first part working:

i need to change the colour of a graphic in a specific movie in a specific frame. if i have a movie clip instance-named "sidetext" thats 15 frames long, and i want a graphic in the movie, called "letterp" to change to one of four colours that i want it to randomly at frame 10 and stay that colour uintil frame 15, how can i do this?

I have an swf loaded into _level0. On button release I want gotoAndPlay a certain frame label in an swf loaded into an MC named Host on _level0 to. I have the following:
on (release) { _level0.host.gotoAndPlay("Main", "MainStart"); unloadMovieNum (2); }
The unload part looks fine, and I am back to my orginal page. But the page did not jump to 'MainStart'. What am I forgetting?
I have a problem when I try do to my flash movie starts at frame 20 when playing.
In the timeline, I have some stop() function at frame 5, 10, 15... And at frame 1, I put this action gotoAndPlay(15) for starting the flash from frame 15 When I play on my PC (local), it's ok, but when i upload to internet and play, it stops at frame 5 (where i put the stop action)
I have a dropdown menu that I'm learning to use from a tutorial. It's just a little over my head and am wondering if someone could help me. Here's my situation:
1) The menu has the title, DESTINATIONS. Submenu dropdown are a list of CONTINENTS. Rolling over CONTINENTS show COUNTRIES. This works.
2) Clicking on a Country should:
A) load an external swf into an empty movie clip :: Works!
B) go to the COUNTRY specific frame within that loaded movie clip. :: Doesn't work!
Here is a sample code from this menu, where it defines the fields that populate the menu:

how to direct the link in the menu in a specific frame in an externally loaded swf? I can do this on a 'normal' button using placeFrame, but because I'm unfamiliar with how this particular menu is made, I don't know how to implement what I know.
I need to make it so when the movie clip that is in frame 1 of scene 1 is done it plays frame 2 of my scene 1. How do I do this Im making a cartoon where a characters mouth which is the movie clip which is moving and when it is done moving i want it to go to and plays frame 2 on scene one. Its to late to do everything on the timeline, and I cant just copy the movie clip, i could but I want to just be able to do this go to and play on scene one from the movie clip instead of doing all my work all over again
I have a movie that plays as an introduction. If a user wants to skip the movie and go to frame 225 but continue playing the movie then I thought I would use this code:

what actually happens is the movie skips to frame 225 but then stops. Now if I leave the movie to play from the start it will get to 225 and continue playing... strange??? Yes... Here is the file:

I am using an older version of flash. This is technically a game question but it is in older flash.My MC is a movable char that can jump, fall, and land on platforms. I would like to program a way for if the char falls and doesn't meet ground (i.e. falls out of view entirely) for a new frame to play on the main timeline OR for a movie clip to load asking it to try again OR for the game to start over completely. Whichever method is easiest.
I want to do something like gotoAndPlay(frame label) for a movie clip with the instance name content. I am using an array for my buttons placing multiple instances of the button mc on the stage. When I add content.gotoAndPlay I get an access of undefined property error. If I add it inside the parenthesis I get an expecting identifier before my frame label name error.
is there anyway to have a button play frames 5-10 on a movie clip inside the current frame, as well as skipping to...lets say...frame 10 of the scene?
i want to create a site where buttons go to different pages, but those pages have animations in and out.so if someone is in one page, and clicks a button to go to another, that page plays the "out" animation while the other page plays the "in" animation.

when a external swf file gets loaded into main swf file, i need to detect while playing external file reach to end so that i can unload that file and move to another frame on root of main file. Trying to get a script for a Specific fps for a loaded movie,i.e. My main movie is 60 fps and my loaded movie is 12 fps and when I play, the loaded movie plays in 60 fps........Is there a way to play the loaded movie in a specific speed (like 12fps rather than 60 fps)....
A lovely client of mine just decided after we had completed his flash presentation that he would love to be break the presentation into smaller chunks so we can link to the different parts of the presentation directly even thought it's one movie. Is this possible? I have a holder movie that loads each section in a movieclip when the user clicks on a link in the navigation. I thought I would follow this technique:
I want to "Test Movie" to get a feel for what my animation looks like as a SWF file but I want to test it from a specific frame. My reason for this is that normally if I go to Test movie, I have to watch my entire animation from the start when really, I might want to test it only to see if a certain part works. And I do realize there is the "play" option in the timeline using Enter but that doesn't have the same effect as Test movie.
Is there any way of testing a movie from a specific frame?
From main movie I call a 2nd movie to appear over the main movie using [code]all good and working.Now, from a link in the 2nd movie, I want to close the 2nd movie and go back to the first movie advancing the first movie to another page (frame).[code]but how can i tell my first movie to go to a specific frame.
