ActionScript 2.0 :: Key Press & GotoAndPlay - Skip The Movie And Go To Frame

I have a movie that plays as an introduction. If a user wants to skip the movie and go to frame 225 but continue playing the movie then I thought I would use this code:

what actually happens is the movie skips to frame 225 but then stops. Now if I leave the movie to play from the start it will get to 225 and continue playing... strange??? Yes... Here is the file:
i've imported a flv video file to Flash for the intro and i create skip button to go next frame..but when i press skip..it stop at next frame but the sound of intro still playing.
I am looking for an actionscript that will go to a certain frame in the timeline, play several frames and then jump to another frame in the timeline. Basically, I want to use this on several different buttons that use the same animation sequence to get to another part of the timeline.
The following is a scenario, but not script: Buttons A and B are on Frame 1. Animation is on Frames 2-20: When Button A is pressed, go to Frame 2. Play Frames 2-20, then go to Frame 21. When Button B is pressed, go to Frame 2. Play Frames 2-20, then go to Frame 22. I am currently doing this in a different way.
Buttons A and B are on Frame 1. Animations for Buttons A and B are the same, but are located on different frames. Animations for Button A would be on Frames 2-20. Animations for Button B would be on Frames 21-39. So... When Button A is pressed, go to Frame 2. Play Frames 2-20 and stop on Frame 20. When Button B is pressed, go to Frame 21. Play frames 21-39 and stop on Frame 39.
Do I have to create this extra timeline? Can I just put the animation in a separate movie? How can I play the movie and then connect each button to different parts of the timeline after the movie ends?
I have a problem when I try do to my flash movie starts at frame 20 when playing.
In the timeline, I have some stop() function at frame 5, 10, 15... And at frame 1, I put this action gotoAndPlay(15) for starting the flash from frame 15 When I play on my PC (local), it's ok, but when i upload to internet and play, it stops at frame 5 (where i put the stop action)
I have a swf movie that loads to my main scene using a preload. I have a button found on the main scene. When that button is pressed I would like to use the GotoAndPlay command to play a specific frame in that movie. How do I do this. my swf is called inter_mc.swf. I created a function for the button but somehow Im thinking I need to designate the swf in the goto code. This isn't working but it is what I have so far.

How do I do this Im making a cartoon where a characters mouth which is the movie clip which is moving and when it is done moving i want it to go to and plays frame 2 on scene one. I am using an older version of flash. This is technically a game question but it is in older flash.My MC is a movable char that can jump, fall, and land on platforms. I would like to program a way for if the char falls and doesn't meet ground (i.e. falls out of view entirely) for a new frame to play on the main timeline OR for a movie clip to load asking it to try again OR for the game to start over completely. Whichever method is easiest.
I have a command inside an onpress, that doesn't do what it's supposed to.It is written like this:

The above actionscript is on a button, and that button is located at:
_root.messageOne.messageGraphic
The imageTween frame 2 is the beginning of a tween that scales that movie clip, but it just sits there and doesn't scale. So the on (press) isn't working for some reason.
I want to do something like gotoAndPlay(frame label) for a movie clip with the instance name content. I am using an array for my buttons placing multiple instances of the button mc on the stage. When I add content.gotoAndPlay I get an access of undefined property error. If I add it inside the parenthesis I get an expecting identifier before my frame label name error.
is there anyway to have a button play frames 5-10 on a movie clip inside the current frame, as well as skipping to...lets say...frame 10 of the scene?
i want to create a site where buttons go to different pages, but those pages have animations in and out.so if someone is in one page, and clicks a button to go to another, that page plays the "out" animation while the other page plays the "in" animation.

I am building a short "introduciton" movie that an orthodontist will show prospective patients. It has 32 pages (frames) each is it's own mc. I have a btn that the user can click and go to a screen that will allow them to choose to dispay or omit 6 of the pages (becasue they may not pertain to their practice). I have no clue how to do this since I am a graphic artist and a novice to Flash. I've watched as many tutorial movies as my brain can handle, and it's about to burst! From what I've read, I think I need to use Flash cookies (local), so that the choices will be remembered.

In this bit of code is there anyway to adjust the gotoAndPlay Command to play from frame 114 to frame 200. Are there any commands that will do this. I want it to play from frame 114 to frame 200 when a button is pressed.
I am making a website with a flash menu. I want it to gotoAndPlay a particular frame (frame A) when the cursor is on a button. When you roll the cursor off of the button I want it to gotoAndPlay a different frame (frame B). That part was easy enough. But here is the problem. If you click on the button I want it to continue playing frame A even when you roll off.
I currently have 3 major sections in my Flash file, and need to be able to play the frames backwards, within each segment, if the user so chooses to click the back button.Let's say it's on Frame 250 (or any other spot on the respective timeline for each section) and the user clicks the back button, I want to be able to "gotoAnyPlay" Frame 225 to Frame 220.So, jump from current Frame 250, start playing on Frame 225, play to 220, and then stop.

I am editing a .FLA file that has been given to me. I would like to have the movie jump frames (skip frames) to cut out a part of the movie so I do not have to edit the time line. What is the Action Script that I should use?
Right now on the frame I want it to jump from I have gotoAndPlay(8220); This does not seem to be doing the job.
Shouldn't the pre-loader skip and jump to the animation if the intended animation loads? Is this tutorial doing that?
I can't tell if that's happening. My animation is very light but it seems to be going through the entire preloader whether or not the animation is fully loaded or not.
When you click on a link, it takes you (_self) to an "in-between" page that contains another Flash movie (that tells customer to be sure to come back to our page in the future). This Flash movie is coded so that it automatically opens a new window (_blank) to a different site. Then, HERE IS WHERE I HAVE MY PROBLEM, the original page (which is now hidden behind the new window) redirects you (_self) back to the homepage. SOOOO, when your on the new window, you can hear the lady's voice in the background.
NOW, what I want to do is to pass a variable so that, when you get redirected back to the homepage, it skips the lady speaking and goes directly to the looping slideshow.For example, "if F=1, gotoAndPlay(346);"I know that's not proper actionscript, I'm just saying what I have in mind.I've never passed variables before, so the more detailed the better.Note: I am using Flash CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3 (.asp)
hen you click on a button within my swf it loads an external swf into an MC that sits on top of the 1st swf, which continues to play underneath.Within swf2 I have lots of pages that you can navigate to, which works fine on its own, but not when I try to play it through swf1.When I click on any of the navigation buttons they don't work.I've tried making an MC within swf2, putting all the pages in there and on the navigation buttons doing:
