I need a skip intro link in my movie that, when clicked, goes to the last frame of the movie and plays it.
View 7 Repliesi want to make an intro swf which is small and loads quickly but i would like the main swf to start loading while the intro is playing. i'm not worried about the intro finishing once the main movie is loaded but i just want to the main movie to START loading while the intro is playing to cut down on load time.

View 3 RepliesI want my movie to loop. Would prefer an If/Else loop so that the movie plays a certain number of times then plays the opening of a screen then stops. This is a simple 4 screen ad I am doing for a school project. Can't get it to work. I tried containing my code in the proper loop syntax, didn't work. Then wrapping the loop in a function and calling that with a timer event, didn't work. My final solution was to call my whole movie in a timer event set to play once. Then calling the entire movie again in a second timer event set to play 20 times and set to start at an interval when the first movie ended. This did work but each time the movie plays thru function calls drop off making the movie degrade.

I have a movie that plays as an introduction. If a user wants to skip the movie and go to frame 225 but continue playing the movie then I thought I would use this code:

what actually happens is the movie skips to frame 225 but then stops. Now if I leave the movie to play from the start it will get to 225 and continue playing... strange??? Yes... Here is the file:

If I have an FLV that I've output as SWF with skin to have embedded into an HTML page, and now a 'skip intro' is needed - though I'd have to make note of the actual time or keyframe in which the intro completes...How is this possible? Clearly, a button would need to be added for that kind of interactivity?
View 3 RepliesI have a opening movieclip that starts playing for my background and then I have two buttons that come up on moues over event, that if clicked on start one of my two longer Movie Clips that I have as progressive download through a flvplayer on Key frame 2 & 3. I have all that working but I want it to go back to the start or keyframe 1 when the clip is done playing so I can use the same opening menu to click on the second movie clip can some one give me any tips on how to get to go back to the start when the movie is done.

View 1 RepliesI made 3 movies, one of a street, one of the street to the left and one of the right.What I actually want to do is, to play the video of the middle street, stop it after 4 to 5 seconds and put text on where you can see the street left and text on where you can see the street right.
So if you'd click on the text left, the movie needs to play of the left street, the right with the right.
To make motion stops where the text is coming I'll put a jpeg of the end of the movies, that I also use as a pause of the movie.
I know you can make links into html files, but I'd rather have 1 swf file so there is no loading between 2 html files.I tried to use actionscript (however i dont really know any commands ) on text, but it says that the item cannot have a script on it.
is it possible to link a frame inside a movie clip from main time line?

I can get it to work when I tell it to just go to a specific frame. But when I try and create and array for each of the frame numbers nothing happens.The script I have is as follows:

I have many buttons in a few movie files, i need to select a few of these buttons and store them in an array so i use....

I then need to show a movie file if the button that has been clicked on is in the array. so something like...
if e.target.name is in the array show the movie twocolor.visible = true;
i then need to go to a certain frame of the movie, depending upon where the button is found in the array. So if the button is at position three of the array, i need to jump to keyframe 3 of my movie.
I want to make a link that goes to frame 15 of my main.swf which is embedded in index.html, the link itself will be on a page called catalogue.html. How would I go about this?

I'm making a flash project and I have 10 different videos on it (embedded using FlVPlayback) and all the videos have the same stupid intro. My boss would like me to add a "skip intro" button which would allow you to jump to about 19 seconds in the video.
what I have done so far is insterted a video file without the introduction in a new keyframe and have the "skip intro" button linked to keyframe.the only problem is that if you do not wish to press the skip intro button, it stays up on the screen the entire time, and we would like it to disappear. I've thought about using skipintro.alpha = 0 at a cuePoint located 19 seconds in, but i'm not really sure how that would work.
I have created an animated home page that I have put a "skip intro" button. When the viewer clicks on the skip intro button I want them to go to the end of the animation/homepage. There are three embedded movie clips of test tubes filling (near the end of the main timeline and these testubes are also navigation buttons to the rest of the site). Even though the viewer goes to the end of the main timeline when they click SKIP INTRO, the testtubes fill at this point and the animation loops back to frame 1 and keeps looping. I want viewer to stay at last frame with all testtubes filled and animation complete. I'm guessing it's something in the individual testube clips AS that is causing this or some simple solution that I'm overlooking? I published an html file and when I tested in a browser and DON'T skip the intro animation it goes through the full animation - to end and stops and does not loop.

Normally, I want the movie to play the tween that spans from 25 to 35, then stop UNLESS a button has been clicked back on frame 24 - then I want the tween played from 25 to 35 then jump to 46.Problem is, in the button function code, if I have...gotoAndPlay(25); gotoAndPlay(46);the timeline jumps straight to 46 - it doesn't play 25-35. Why?I tried putting a timer in between the two gotoAndPlays, but itignored that too and jumped to 46.o how do I tell it - 'play from 25-35 and stop, unless but_a was pressed back on Frame 24 - then play 25-35, and then play 46' ?

I have created a preloader for a video intro, with a skip button. This preloader is loaded inside the index.html file.When the user skips the intro video, he is forwarded to another page. This part works great.The problem is that if you ever go back to the index.html file after you skip the intro the flash file recognizes that the video is already downloaded, because it is partially downloaded because it begins to download before the user can press the 'Skip' button. I imagine this has to do with the fact that a partial file with the same name exists in cache.When the user clicks on the 'Skip' button I close the loader that was loading the video file like this:
loader.close();
Is this the problem? I thought that Flash automatically compared files.Is there any way to compare the file in cache on the users computer and have the file either resume or redownload if the file sizes don't correspond?
using a shared object to detect the last visit of a user, and if it is within 24 hours, skipping the intro on a flash site?
View 2 RepliesI am building a website for a project of the university. as i am not a programmer i bought a template from flashden. i need to do some adjustements and alleready asked the author to help, but he has no time to do. i thought maybe i'll get some help over here.
I need a fullscreen video as an intro for that page. there should be a skip button and when the video has finished playing you should get to the page... the page uses a percentage preloader and i want the same preloader for the video, so that it looks like it belongs to the page.
Hopefully you guys can see something i am missing. I want to skip the intro of the flash movie after the first visit, so the user doesn't have to see the intro to get to the main site.

I have an issue with an intro I'm doing. I have made animation which is around 200 frames and in the main timeline, so that it starts when you load the page. I want the user to be able to click anywhere on the screen to skip this intro as it takes a while to load on slow connections. At the moment I have made a large button on a layer under the animation which only works as a button when you have loaded the page into the cache and not the first time you load it.
