ActionScript 2.0 :: Stopping Embedded Video In Flash
Jan 28, 2010
I have three (youtube) videos embedded in Flash. Every time a new video is a loaded, the sound video from the old video continues to play. I have tried using removeMovieClip(); and I have tried stopAllSounds(); I have tried 'delete video_mc'. Nothing seems to work!
Here is my script:
ActionScript Code:
// Video Script
// Default - We'd Drink
// show this video on load
showDefault();
videoBtn1.onRelease = showDefault;
function showDefault(){
[Code] .....
I have a website in Flash CS4. When testing the movie, my swf file plays. When I access another menu button, the movie still plays and you still hear the sound. I have the skin where the user can stop the movie before going to other pages in the site but my Question is: How can I get the movie to stop playing if another menu button is clicked? I ask because when I go to another page and come back, the video is not showing but I still hear the audio.
I have three embedded video clips that are inside of movieClips. They I have buttons that take you to a framelabel where those movieClips are located. Each movieClip containing each movie are on separate frames. (See attached image)
When I click on any of the buttons that take me to any videoClips other than the first one, make the audio from the previous embedded Video on the timeline in front of the one I went to , start to play.
I have SoundMixer.stopAll();
on everybutton before I tell it to go anywhere. what to do to only get audio from the video clip in that section of the timeline to play.
I'd like to gain read only access to the following parameters of embedded Flash videos located on sites that I do not own through my own custom browser extension/add-on:
Time location of playback head (so I can display the current time in the browser extension via HTML5/JavaScript) Frames (so I can make capture them to an image file, save it and display image in browser extension) Original Dimensions in pixels (so I can display the original video dimensions via JS/HTML5 in browser extension)
Is this possible by using Javascript and HTML5 from a browser extension?
Would I have to use something like the SWFObject Javascript API [URL]
I'm working on creating a simple projection mapping application in flash for a class. One of the biggest hurdles is superimposing a video in "3D". The way I intend to do this, is to transform the individual points of the video to match the cubes I'm projecting on.
I am new to Flash and this may sound, well dumb but here it goes. I have taken some video files from Final Cut Pro converted them to FLV's imported them and embedded them into flash to create some banners for the web. I need to know what settings I should use to get these out of Flash for the web.
Also I need to send them to someone to look at before publishing. What would be the best format to do that in and how to do it.
Also has anyone has any experience creating banners in or online ads in a Video format like FCP and embedding them into a flash file to export them in flash for we publishing. Sorry again for the dumb question, just new to Flash.
So what I am curious about is if it is possible and how, to have an embedded video and capture the thumbnail. There are other sites that share video and I'd like to get the thumbnails from the embedded videos, but they use flash video players to show the video and likely use flashvars to pull up the right video.
I've been trying to automate some of the capture of thumbnails and embedded videos but have no clue how to get remote thumbnails from these videos.
I have embedded a flash video on my website. [URL]...I am having the problem that it seems to rescale fine in Firefox on the Mac, but in Firefox in Windows it just crops the video.
Here it my HTML <object width="650" height="500"> <param name="movie" value="How To Add A Location"> <embed src="http://www.fribblesoft.com/zs-content/How_To_Add_A_Location.swf" width="650"
So i have been working on a project, its a digital portfolio. Now I have the Host Movie and and then I have a submovie which is loaded into the Host movie. That all works fine!
I have embedded a video onto the stage and when I click the exit button to go back to my host the video still plays. Here is my code.
function exit(event:MouseEvent):void { var parentObj:Object=this.parent.parent; parentObj.closeMovie(); }
[Code].....
I also have 3 other objects in the submovie which loads 3 other sub movies. Inception!
They work fine, but yet again the video still plays in the background.
I have a video that I've embedded into a project by means of linking it from my server, where it lives (not embedding it into the actual project) and I cant for the life of me find a way to get the video to continually loop when it finishes. Any looping meathod I've found so far using AS3 only loops the basic animations in the movie, not the video.
The following is the code I am using to display a YouTube embedded video in my flash application.
Code:
Security.allowDomain("youtube.com"); var plr:MovieClip = new MovieClip(); addChild(plr);
[Code]....
I cannot load more than one of those in my app. As soon as I load one youtube vid like that, any others will fail to load UNLESS it was the same video as the first one loaded, in which case there seems to be a 50% chance that it will load. And even when the second one (the same as the first) does load, there are issues with the player loaded.... it seems they are connected somehow and get confused with each other. The trackbar will flicker between the play time of the first one and the play time of the second one.
Next problem... I cannot unload the video right away. Say my user wants to close the video out, when I use:
Code:
ldr.unload()
the player does NOT close its streams and you can hear the audio still playing (assuming it was closed before it was finished playing)...
In my eyes, this is horribly bad programming on YouTube's part. They claim that you are allowed to embed their videos in AS3.0, but if that's true then why does it have such a horrible time as a child SWF? Proper children SWF files should be listening for an "unload" call and close out anything they need to when unloaded.
Here is what I've tried so far:
- Seperating the videos by loading them into other children SWF files (children that I created that I've told to load a specific YouTube vid)
- loading at different times
- Allowing security access from YouTube
How can I load more than one YouTube video into my Flash App without causing problems between them? I'm at my wit's end.
I would like to take a Flash video that is hosted on another site (like Youtube) and embed it into my own site with a custom designed HTML5 / CSS / jQuery GUI for player controls.
Would I have to create the new player GUI in Flash?
Then I hear the sound playing for the flash, but it shows up as a white box.
Similarly, any other page with embedded flash has the same problem. I've also tried making a string containing static HTML content, and loading that into the browser... but it has the same problem.
I've read every solution I could find online, from setting the view to invisible until the onPageFinish event is called, to extending the WebView class, and paining over it. I've tried reflection, to call hidden properties on the WebView's settings for enabling flash, etc. Nothing works.
Is it possible to edit the text of an embedded video in Flash? What I mean to say I have embedded one video with Flash video encoder into my fla and the video has some text which now I want to edit as per my choice.
was wondering if I could get some direction on something that I have been wondering about for a while. There have several flash video players that I have seen that only start to load/play the video when the object is visible on the screen.For instance, if I click a link to an html page with an auto playing flv on it, and then minimize the window. The video will only start to play/load once I maximize the window again. The other instance I have seen it is with the position of the page. So if an flv is placed onto a long html page, all the way at the bottom, it will only begin to load/play once I have scrolled to make it visible.
I have trouble in choosing between external video with playback component and embedded video . I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.
I have this site I'm doing in Flash with an embedded video.The site has background music that is loading automatically, but when the embedded movie loads, the volume on that is mixed in witht he sites music.If you mute the sites background music, it mutes the video sound as well. Make sense?How can I seperate them out or make the sites background music not load on that particular page.
I have an Embedded (synchronized with timeline) clip in a flash movie.I am controlling the currentFrame of the clip by dragging a slider left to right (to simulate rotating an object).The problem is when I go forwards, motion is smooth, but if I drag to the left Flash cannot seem to efficiently play back in reverse and the motion is extremely jerky.Obviously I'm skipping frames depending upon the position of the mouse, but there is a very noticable lag when currentFrame is decreased vs. increased. Is there a way to optimize an embedded timeline clip for reverse random seeking like this?Possible solutions (untested) :Use video instead of embedded - I would expect this to make the situation worse though!Create a second reversed video for when scrolling to the left. This would probably double the file size.
I have a modal dialog with a flash video on it and I'm using the jQuery draggable plugin to make it draggable. On Chrome, it doesn't let me play the video (when I click on the play button it does nothing, though I can drag the div around if I hold down the mouse). On Firefox, the video will play, but the mouse gets "stuck" to the div and the div follows it around. Is there some easy way to prevent dragging on the flash div?
I have successfully embedded the youtube video in my flash code with: //create area to put youtube video on screen this.createEmptyMovieClip("reason1_video", 10000); reason1_video._xscale = 60; reason1_video._yscale = 60; this.reason1_video.loadMovie("[URL]");
However, the video plays with black bars on top and bottom even though it plays without those directly from youtube: [URL]. Even if I take off the scaling, it still has the black bars. How do I get rid of them? It seems like youtube uses a different player than flash. [URL]. Click on #1 and you will see the video I am talking about.
I'm making a basic flash website, and have already created the site structure, but I'm having trouble adding FLV and SWF, as they aren't responding as I would like.
1) I have built a basic flash photo gallery, and it works great. I have exported the SWF, but when I add that to my main sites keyframe, it plays non stop, and the buttons on that embedded SWF don't work.
2) After adding a FLV video to a keyframe, it works as I would like. Except that when I click to another keyframe after starting the video, it keeps playing. How would I be able to pause/stop the video if a navigation button to other keyframes are clicked.
I can't seem to get around my video and audio files starting when I arrive at the page. I'm even using some example code with start and stop buttons. This is in CS4 Flash. I expect it's because the ActionScript is in the wrong place because when I run the movie it flashes through all of the pages on the site without stopping at the home page. Is there some generic code that will allow me to simply swap out the name of the video or audio file I want to start. If there is, do I need to locate it on its own layer at the top of the timeline?
I have a YouTube video embedded in my page. It is hidden (display:none). You need to click one of the video link buttons to display the video and play it. The links are defined like this:
It's fundamentally pretty simple! But here's the problem. since the video player is hidden, the flash object is not activated. So when I click a video link, the line ytplayer.style.display = 'block'; displays the video player, but it takes about about half a second for flash to load. During this time it cannot accept any method calls, such as the next line ytplayer.loadVideoById( id, 0, 'hd1080' );. Essentially, I have to click the link twice, once to load up the flash video player, the second time to actually load the video into the player.
