I have inserted a TextArea component and i can add text normally by changing it in the parameters tab. but i was wondering if anyone knew the code so i can make it show and input text field ? (call a .txt file in to the TextArea component)

Is it possible to login through flash using one Dynamic Text Field and one Input Text Field and no buttons? If so how? View 2 RepliesI'm making a calculator using Flash MX that works the same way as the basic calculator found on windows (not the scientific one). But having the user input a number, store it as a variable, store which function the user wants to perform and clear the text field then store the new input in the same text field as a different variable and multiply or add or divide or subtract the 2 numbers and getting the equals sign to display the answer when clicked is harder than I thought it would be.

But i want to display the description if one of the other box value is greater than 1500, actaully there are two field one field has value for Security deposit amount and second is drop down security deposit type in this if the value is > 1500 the description should show.

Field two (dropdown)
Deposit Type (Bank Draft/ Money order/Personal check)
If the value is in the deposit amount >1500 then it show the description under one lable "Please Send your postal address proof)i have that funciton

Using AS3 to create a basic number guessing game but for some reason the input text field won't accept text input. I can't figure out which piece of code is causing the problem and it's driving me nuts considering it's from a tutorial.

What I'm trying to do is to write something in an input field and then it should show up in a dinamic field. I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.

View 2 RepliesI'm using AS2 in Flash CS3.I have a TextArea component in the stage that's loading its text from an XML and I've been able to use the ul and li tags to create lists. However, when I try to include a nested list it just inserts a line break between the nested list and the main list rather than indent it further. Is there a solution for this issue?Failing that, how would I be able to add non-breaking spaces into the XML so they will render inside the TextArea component? I've tried and without success. I scoured the net for some help with this and found some information about modifying the font embedding xml file with a new entry for the non-breaking space and that didn't work either, so that leaves me somewhat stumped.

View 1 RepliesI am using a dynamic text field to show html formatted text from .txt files. I have set the html property both in the properties panel and in AS, and it mostly works. All html formatting show up just fine, except for when "&" is used. Flash CS3 documentation indicates that & is supported, so.? All text after the & does not appear: the only text loaded is that that comes before it. I am using CS3, AS2, publishing in Flash Player 9. Sorry if this problem has been addressed elsewhere, but I've had no luck with my searches.

I can't get my text to show in a text field created at runtime within a movieclip on _root. I use a trace statement and it loads into the Output box but is not visible in the textField area..there are no masks in the movieClip.

how i can confine the text within the boundaries of the input text field instead of restricting to limited characters? I find that restricting to limited characters is a bit problematic as it depends on the number of words the user types on it.

I want to create an input text field that can be editable by the user and essentially when they click submit it turns this into HTML code with p, br, strong and em tags.
I don't know if it is possible, I assume it would be, but my searches are not turning up much.
I want the user to be able to select a section of text and click a B button to surround that selected text with strong tags, same for italics.
I also want to give the ability to at least record when the user presses enter in order it insert p tags and maybe even br tags if they press shift+enter
