ActionScript 2.0 :: Video Player - Menu MC To Visible On RollOver

I am making a videoplayer for an embedded flv and I want the menu mc to appear when the mouse pointer is on the video. My problem, is that inside that mc I have 4 buttons (play, pause, stop, volume). When I make the rollOver, the menu is visible but the buttons are not clickable...

When I publish my FLV video using Flash CS3 and the "SkinUnderAll" option...the player controls are not visible unless I change the height & width in the html file Flash created.But, Flash shows the height & width 3-times in the html.
Question-1: Why 3-times? What does each of the 3 Height & Width references do?
Question-2: How should I modify the code to be able to see the entire video and the player controls?
It seems if I change all 3 everything just gets bigger and bigger.
1 - I import it into Flash CS3 on a PC w/XP Pro using... File | Import | Video take all the defaults and choose "Skin Under All" as the player option.
2 - In "Properties" panel at bottom of screen Flash shows the video as 640x480
3 - I then click File | Publish to publish the video. Flash creates all my files for me.

4 - I then put the folder with the files on my website.
5 - The video plays but the player controls are not visible.
6 - I see the Height & Width referenced 3 times in the html file Flash created for me (and none are 640x480, they are 550x400 !)
7 - I try changing the 550x400 to 640x480 in all three places... no good. Even at 1000x1000 the entire player is not visible. Everything just gets larger.
What are each of the 3 references to Height and Width in the html file Flash Creates and which should I change to simply show all the player controls?

I have xml video player. In the xml playlists i can different categories. Which video category i want to play i chose that from the drop down menu. Is there a way to somehow get the code so instead of dropdown menu in playlist for the playlist categories i would like to have two separate buttons for categories insted of drop down menu?

I have big element at the top of the webpage that sides down with jQuery when a button is clicked. However, if the first post on the blog is a flash video, it shows up on top of the menu. Z-index doesn't help in this instance.

We know set wmode to transparent in flash player can reveal pulldown menu behind the flash player but this seems not always true. Take a look at this , when the video starts to play, it still block the pulldown menu. I've used browser debug tool to check the code of that video player, it did set wmode to transparent

when the video reaches 1 minute, a button appears. is there a way to hide the button again if the user uses the seek bar to go back to the 30 second (or any time before 1 minute) point?

I have created an XML driven Drop Down menu using the kirupa tut by Senocular found here. I am trying to figure out how to get the submenus to push the rest of the main menu down on rollover kind of like this. Not sure where to start to get the AS to get the button created fromt he XML nodes to move down.I haven't changed the code found int he tut too much and the menu works fine except that the rollovers just go over the main menu.

I'm currently working on a flashsite and are trying to figure out rollover menu buttons. The site has 6 menu buttons and are placed next to each other. I want to put a rollover action on the buttons, that when you rollover a button that the whole button image enlarges and moves in front of the other.

This is a very simple thing I want to do: show informational popups when an area of the screen is rolled over. I was able to get this working in action script 3 with MouseEventListener and the visible =true/false property but can't seem to get it working correctly in AS2.

I am aware of how to reset the right-click context menu to just "settings", but when the file is opened in Flash Player directly from a computer instead of on the web, the drop-down menu in the player is still available. You can even press ctrl+enter to play. My searches just come up with solutions to the right-click menu, and I have a client who wants me to get rid of this menu for a game I've already made.

But when I move the mouse over the buttons, they aren't enabled, probably because flash got the idea that the MC is above the buttons, and that the MC is a button.

I have my main menu movieclip placed on the main stages and I use it to load some external swfs. However when I load them, the menu disappears because it is covered by the loaded swf. How can I set the depth of my top menu so that will always be visible when the external swfs are loaded? Should the depth be set on the main time line or inside the main manu movie clip? This is the code in my main menu that I am using to load the swfs but my main menu is a movie clip placed on the main timeline...

I've made an animation showing the constellation Orion in 3D (see attached swf). As you can see, it's working properly, displaying stars and lines connecting those stars. The depth scaling is ok. The animation also responds to mouse movements as it should.The problems occur when I embed the swf in Flex using Flex Builder (I posted this question on the Flex forum as well, but I suspect the problem is more AS related than Flex 3 related): the stars of the constellation are visible, the animation responds to mouse movements, depth scaling is OK...but the lines connecting the stars aren't visible. Feel free to make the comparison for yourself.So any suggestions how I can make the lines visible? I have the problem that a video I imported in Flash is visible on my pc but not on any other. I converted the video into the flv format and dragged it onto the scene. So far so good. I created a folder which includes the main swf as well as the video in the flv format. Since this is a University project, I sent this folder to a professor and he could not see the video. I've tried it on any other pc - wouldn't work either.

I have a scroll over menu that works great (see code below) But I only want it to work when I scroll over the menu. Right now, it activates and scrolls even when I'm not hovering over the menu. My canvas is about 800x400 and the scroll over menu is only 200x350. I tried: on rollover disable but that did not work.

so i am parsing an xml file and each node becomes a button. ifigured out how to make each click work properly, but i can not getthe rollovers to work. with the code below makes it register youare rolling over one of the buttons, but it only shows the rolloveron the last button in my list. im thinking its because i am notreferencing my button correctly, but im not sure what the referenceis because the buttons are created through iterations.

I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.

Everything works fine but it seems but it seems that when I roll over the menu items the menu goes back up! It's just when your roll over the menu items it is actually leaving it the movieclip?

So below is my code for a project I'm working on. I'm having some trouble though. I got the code for the scrolling menus online from another forum, but I can't figure out where that was. In any case, the current version of the code allows for the scrolling to happen when I open the page displays (enter Frame). But I can't figure out how to get the scrolling to happen only when I hover over the menu. I only want each one to scroll when I hover over the menu, not when I get on the page. I tried to replace the "enterFrame" part of the code, but it didn't work right. I need this done ASAP.

I have a flash movie with a hidden menu. The hidden menu will appear whenever theres a rollover at the portion that says 'quick menu' . This portion of the quick menu btn is visible to users.
Now here's the problem: After writing the OnRollOver tween for ._y , the individual btns on the menu stop working, the trace dun even work !!!!

[URL] I finally figured out how to get my rollover links to work, but now I need to figure out how to make the bottom links move. For example, when we rollover the Arizona Link, we want the California and Contact Us links to move BELOW the Arizona rollovers. And same thing for when the California link is rolled over, we want the Contact Us link to move BELOW the California roll overs. I have a .FLA that is working perfectly in AS2 that needs to be migrated to AS3. I am an AS3 beginner and cannot figure out for the life of me how to translate my code where i'm trying to execute a command in nested movie clip (i.e. something like parent.MyMovie.gotoAndPlay(2) or parent.MyMovie.currentframe = 2 ) - it keeps returning a 'possibly undefined instance / function' error and because it cycles through all the frames I can't even tell if ANY of my code is working or not.Here are the two files:Here is the code from the _southamerica movieclip that contains the rollover:

On the attached swf you'll see my slowly rotating menu. Each of the icons around the outside is a button which takes u to a specific page. When the user rolls over the button I want the menu to stop rotating, and if the user moves the mouse away I want the menu to continue rotating. Should I be using mc instead of a button?
