ActionScript 3.0 :: Making Menu Visible When External SWF Loaded?
Jan 5, 2011
I have my main menu movieclip placed on the main stages and I use it to load some external swfs. However when I load them, the menu disappears because it is covered by the loaded swf. How can I set the depth of my top menu so that will always be visible when the external swfs are loaded? Should the depth be set on the main time line or inside the main manu movie clip? This is the code in my main menu that I am using to load the swfs but my main menu is a movie clip placed on the main timeline...
Code:
var swf:MovieClip;
var loader:Loader = new Loader();
var defaultSWF:URLRequest = new URLRequest("swfs/welcome.swf");
loader.load(defaultSWF);
stage.addChild(loader);
[Code] .....
I have a Flex application that loads some data from the database. During this I want my custom preloader stay visible. When I postpone the dispatchEvent( new Event(Event.COMPLETE)) in the FlexEvent.INIT_COMPLETE handler, the loading will never happen because the next frame is not entered. How can I keep the loader running until all the data is fully loaded?
My name is Steve Oatman I am a student atAIO for a Web Design Diplomaclass: Interactive Telecommunications IMD412 XAProfessors to bussyI have a flash web site that I am putting together. I am using AS to load some images from an external source. These images are being loaded into a movieclip. These images need to become buttons once they are loadedThe images will link to the particular menu category pages beef, chicken, etc.The images are loading fine they just are not responding like a button or link.I am getting two error referencing the buttonMode and usehandCursor. Below is just one image that I am working on till I get it to work.I am getting these two Compiler error code:1119: Access of possibly undefined property buttonMode through a reference with static type flash.display:Loader.1119: Access of possibly undefined property useHandCursor through a reference with static type flash.display:Loader.This is what I have.
var myLoader01:Loader = new Loader(); myLoader01.load(new URLRequest("entrees_images/beef/beef01.gif"));addChild(myLoader01);myLoader01.x =
I'm creating an animated (in and out) drop down menu. I've managed to get the menu to open when the user mouses over, with the buttons all selectable. However I can't seem to find an efficient method of making the drop down menu close whenever the mouse is not over the menu. Actions:
I have one button, that when clicked should display several images, one at a time. At the minute they are all just coming on together, how do i seperate the functions so they come on individually, for example like bullet points, e.g click once and image1 appears, click again and image2 appears etc... so eventually all of the images are on screen, but they don't all just appear together, if that makes sense!
It should work. It doesn't. Similarly does not work on buttons which are also too numerous to mention, so making them visible one at a time would be an untold hassle. I would love these five arrays to be bunched in a subarray but right now getting it to work, period, is job one.
When I was using Flash CS4, it published a HTML file that showed the text content of the movie, which made it easy for search engines to index the site. However, in Flash CS5.5, I notice it doesn't appear to do that anymore.
What do I do (step-by-step) to make my movie content visible to search engines?
Is there any way for AS3 to register when a timeline is playing?I want to make a button visible when the playhead is moving, (and invisible when it's not)
I mostly use flash for the animation, so my action script tends to be mostly functional.
I am now however having an issue, i am using a variable called language which I am setting in frame one as "dutch", "english" , "german" etc... Im then using this to set dynamic text as appropriate in each frame as necessary.(and yes i may switch this to case statements )
if (language == "dutch") { tcMC.peasantBubble1.peasantSpeech.text= "Bescherm je een schat?"};
My problem is however that one Movieclip does not see the language variable.
Is there anway in CS4 i can direct it to where it is, or define the varibale instead to be global (perhaps id have to change it from a string though)?
I'm trying to create a menu, where some buttons becomes visible when the user "rollOver" a box the buttons is beneath. Look at http://www.grupotecnimede.com/ menu system, at the main page. I place my buttons within a MC, and gives the MC this AS:
[code]...
But when I move the mouse over the buttons, they aren't enabled, probably because flash got the idea that the MC is above the buttons, and that the MC is a button.
I am making a videoplayer for an embedded flv and I want the menu mc to appear when the mouse pointer is on the video. My problem, is that inside that mc I have 4 buttons (play, pause, stop, volume). When I make the rollOver, the menu is visible but the buttons are not clickable...
Code: _root.menu_mc.play_btn._visible = false; var silencio:Boolean = false; var s:Sound = new Sound(root); s.setVolume(100); _root.menu_mc.onRollOver = function() { [Code] .....
Ive built my site using external SWFS. The problem is; I want to keep the loaded SWF viewable until the next requested file is ready. At present, as soon as a button is clicked the screen goes blank and the new files preloader kicks in.
Im loading in my main swf, which will take the place of the preloader(which consists of the entrance) like so...
Code: var entrance:Entrance = new Entrance(); addChild(entrance); import gs.TweenLite;
[code]...
However, for some reason or other, my loaded swf isnt visible until i resize the stage.Ive been trying various things with the way the preloading is done, but it doesnt seem to change anything, and also ive tried taking out the tweens but that doesnt do anything either.
If you play fallingBlocks.swf you can see text in the upper left corner. Now if you go to moviePage.swf and click the little square at the top it loads fallingBlock.swf but the text is not displayed. The text is embedded.
I have got some images that i have loaded flash from another website.
i have used the tween function to make it move about. i would like to know if there is a way to have many images in the same symbol and change there visiblility so that you can only see one at a time. when i use
I'm using UILoader to load SWF files which I have no source for. These SWF files were created in AS2. They use masks. Width and height return unmasked values.
I'm trying to find the visible width and height of the clip so I can scale it properly.
For example I want a SWF to fit within a 50x50 space. The visible SWF is 65x65 (but I don't know this) and the unmasked size is 100x100. If I set the width and height of the loaded movieclip to 50x50, Flash scales the clip based on the unmasked portion, and I get a clip scaled much too small. Keep in mind I have no control of the SWF content, so I can not override width/height, or get mask size.
I have an external swf that contains a button that controls my main swf's timeline.I can get it to navigate fine, but as soon as it navigates, my external swf disappears, because my main swf is no longer on the frame my external swf was imported on.How do I get the external swf to stay visible along all the frames of my main swf's timeline?Here's the code I use to import the external swf:[code]
I am attempting to revamp a website. The buttons that are currently being used are only gifs that are hyperlinked and there are almost 12 buttons... I think that this is a ridiculous amount of buttons to have. It looks very cluttered. So, I figured I should make 6 buttons and just fit the rest of the buttons into subcategorized buttons. And the way to do this is to create flash buttons with drop down menus. To see what I mean, go to this link and look at their buttons:
[URL]
Their buttons drop down into menus with sub-categories. I want to do this.
So far, I have gone into flash, created buttons and made graphics for the "Up" "Over" "Down" and "Hit". I have also added the menu buttons and graphics for the "Over" of each drop-down button-menu.
I have even provided the action script to link each button to where I need it to go.
HOWEVER, here is where the problem is. When I roll the mouse over the button, and then move the mouse down to click on one of the buttons in the drop down menu, the menu disappears, OF COURSE, because the mouse goes off the hit. I can't make the hit bigger, because the menu shouldn't open unless it's on the main button. But without the hit being bigger, the menu will always disappear.
IN ADDITION, I've never used flash buttons on a website before. I'm just using HTML. How do I link the button to the page? Do I save the file as a .swf flash file? And link to 6 different files? Or do I save the buttons in a line, and just use one link?
I have no idea how to make it so that if you press p once, it pops up, and if you press it again, it dissapears.I want it to start off screen and when you press the button it goes to coordinates inside the screen.here's what I have:
ActionScript Code: if (Key.getCode() == 80) { if (_root.pause1 == 1){
making a Magnifying menu i have text menu and i have this idea that when user scrolls on top on the button it will enlarge a little and at the same time it will enlarge other menu buttons. I don't know how to explain it but it should look something like MAC X menu.something like that
