ActionScript 2.0 :: XML -> Object Converter Not Returning Goods?
Sep 7, 2004
I have built a XML decoder that places any supplied XML data into a object and spits it back to the callee.Everything is working so fine, the XML is being parsed, data going into its proper locations... however, when the script does its return, nothing is passed... just a object with no contents...
I am new to AS3 and need to gather data from an XML file, parse it and then return all the vars to be used globally. How do I return an object like in the code below?
Code: var dSession:Object = new Object(); function parseXMLData(incomingData:XML):Object
I'm able to return django models that have only CharFields/Dates/Integers, but now I'm trying to return models that have ForeignKey properties and I'm getting this error in Flex in my NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS onError event handler: m_info Object (@16491fe9) code "NetConnection.Call.Failed" description "HTTP: Status 500" details "[URL]" level "error"
Here are the models that matter in models.py: class RewardActBase(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User) start_date = models.DateTimeField(blank=True, null=True) progress_value = models.IntegerField(default=0) [Code] .....
Then when I want to get retrieve these object via pyamf, this is the method I'm using, which is giving me the error I listed above.: @login_required def get_challenge_act(http_request, location_id): user = http_request.user c = ChallengeAct(); [Code] .....
The interesting thing is that if I change my get_challenge_act method to return a property of the ChallengeAct object, I don't get the error. So I can return properties or objects that belong to the ChallengeAct, but not the ChallengeAct itself. For example, the following code returns a Challenge object with no errors: return c.challenge So it appears that there is some problem returning a Django model with foreginkey models as properties?
I have, among many objects, a SimpleButton called nextBtn on the stage on the second frame. There's a function on that frame that does various things, one of which is adding a MouseEvent to that button. After moving to the next frame programatically and returning to the first frame the button is now gone from the stage. Because it seems to be gone, there's a null object reference error where the listener is added.
I've verified that:
- There are no other objects on the stage that share the same instance name
- This happens to MovieClips as well
- If I avoid adding the listener the second time via wrapping it in a if nextBtn != null statement, moving back another frame causes a button on that frame to disappear
I'm using the native Flash StyleSheet Object to hold externally loaded CSS styles, and when I run the the getStyle("myStyle") function of the StyleSheet Object, it returns an Object in all cases, even when the style doesn't exist!
In cases where no style is found on the StyleSheet, the ASDocs say that the getStyle() function should return null. So if "notAStyle" is not a style on the StyleSheet, and I test[code]...
Everytime a clip is being started the line var so = SharedObject.getLocal('mysharedobject', '/'); creates new mysharedobject instead of returning the reference to the existing one. What might be the reason for this?
Can we convert swf to flv through Actionscript. I mean without any converter. I need to make a project in which i have to convert my swf to flv at run time (on server).
I have been told to make a simple converter using as3 in flash to convert kilometers to miles, when i test the movie, type a random number and press enter, nothing happens
here is the code:
kilometers_txt.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_ DOWN,convertKilometers); function convertKilometers(k:KeyboardEvent)void:{ var kilometers:Number;
One set for Celsius to Fahrenheit and another for Fahrenheit to Celsius. One set consists of a input box with a button next to it and a dynamic text box for the converted number. And then the same thing for the other set. I was just wondering what the code would be for it all.
Is there a tool that will convert an exported Flash library element (ie Component/MovieClip) to an AS3 class with Flex syntax, e[Embed(source="graphic.png")]
One thing asked for a lot with sIFR is hyphenation.The only problem is that Hyphenator.as is written in AcionScript 3, while sIFR is in ActionScript 2.I found an AS2 to AS3 converter s3-converter-createtextfield-geturl-handling/ but the result examples.bezel.be/sIFR-as3.as is not working yet.
Most of the time when it comes to sharing FLA files compatibility is an issue. For me I have CS3 at college, CS4 at work and CS5 at home so saving as a specific version is an issue expacially as most people seem to have CS3. Is there such thing as a converter to allow the opening or saving of different versions? CS5 cannot save as a CS3 which is the main problem for me.
Why the output would be NaN? Code: stop(); convertToCNY_btn.onRelease = convertToCNY; convertToUSD_btn.onRelease = convertToUSD; function convertToCNY() { trace("convertToCNY clicked"); [Code] ..... I actually have to use xml to get the exchange rate, but I'd figure I'd start off like this to see if it works. Obviously it doesn't, for reasons beyond me, as it always is XD.
I am making a converter, where kids enter numbers from 1 to 50 to get their corresponding Roman numerals. for example kids enter 10 and it'll display X. I have put a input textbox on stage name myIntxt, and one dynamic textbox named myOuttxt.. When I press showBtn it should display the roman Number....
I am converting a .MOV file from After Effects in Flash Video Converter. I have jacked the quality to 2500. Although the audio is still dodgy and the video quality is still low. One of the biggest problems is that the images scale up in AE and when they are converted and played they jitter. Very dodgy and this project needs to be crystal clear.
Flash Player 10.1 published with creative new features including filters & effects, text, native device interactions, support for multitouch, gestures, mobile input models, accelerometer input and periodic timer, etc. Among them all, the introduction of periodic timer is the most innovative and significant one. This new feature functions as a double-edged sword which, on one hand, can lower CPU utilization and save battery life, on the other, it may cause troubles for some SWF converters to capture the flash content under such extremely low frame rate.
Im trying to convert a flash binary-decimal converter to another programming language (TI-Basic). I've got all of it down except one key part. I've got a solid backing of actionscript understanding but find myself unable to understand the following statement:
if (iNumber%2) { bin = "1"+bin; } from this tutorial
I realize that inumber%2 will return a value being the remainder of inumber divided by 2, but how can this be a conditional? "if (2) { }" doesn't work for conditonals im used to. Or if your a TI-Basic wiz
p.s. how do you wrap actionscript tags around content in a post on the forum?
For educational purposes I want to create a text converter that would convert Japanese hiragana/katakana into Romaji and Cyrillic (for e.g.:ya>я), but I can't find any similar functioning application or script on the web to start working from...
In as 2.0 there was a simple code like trace(_root._url) that would return the url of the actual swf file. What is the equivalent in AS3? The samples I found were all realted to window.location and other things, is there no simple code for this like in as 2?
I am trying to transfer a movie-clip staged in a swf(on local machine) to a remote server. Below is a part of the action-script code concerned with it;
function createJPG(mc:MovieClip, n:Number, fileName:String) { trace("sdf:"); var jpgSource:BitmapData = new BitmapData(mc.width,mc.height); jpgSource.draw(mc);
[Code]....
I want to close the swf when the upload is complete., I would like to know how to return a value(may be a number which I intend to use to indicate completion of file transfer) from the php script to the swf and how to receive that value in the swf?
var temp = 1 function change(out){ out = 2 return "something"
[code]....
(I would do this if I had a function that returned a value already and I needed it to output more information - I'd pass it an output variable which it would fill for me)but in AS3 that doesn't seem to work - it seems changes I make to a function argument apply only within the function.
I have an external function that needs to return a customerID value. However, it seems to be returning the initial value instead of the value that I believe is being set within the function.[code]
