ActionScript 2.0 :: Array Acsess For Dynamic Mc Messing Up Stage Scale
Mar 17, 2007
I found a bug with use of _X and _Y. even though vars are case sensitive in the case of _Y and _X Auto format will change them in to lower case _y and _x and still even then, the use of upper case will still apply what ever value of that var to the _y and _x of the _root.Now that I dont have the stage shifting any more I went back to look at my trace and to my surprise it's still the same.I assume that it's because of the array style scope. when in debug the the level0 and level0.stage is the same width and height.[code]
I have some dynamic text in an swf, that sits in an html doc, with the width & height set to 100%, in order to have the swf scale depending on screen size.Everything works really well apart from a dynamic text field (which pulls in slide numbers) which disappears or reappears depending on the size of the window or when the window is resized.

I've got a line in my Actionscript like this:[code]If I click the auto format button with this line in there, it adds unnecessary semicolons through the rest of the code and the file stops working. Is there something wrong with the way I have this coded? It works just fine with the code in there before I hit the auto format button.
This goes out to Scotty or any other guru floating around out here. I need the image_mc movieclip in this .fla to scale to fit browser, however i need the image to scale in proportion. I would also need a listener of sorts that will NOT allow the image_mc movieclip to scale below the stage size of 1024 x 768.
I'm creating a tabbed UI and using this tut for the nav of it (but with only 3 tabs): [URL]
..when one of the tabs is clicked..it will show the appropriate content below when it jumps to that frame. However, each tabs associated content varies in height. Is there a way for me to dynamically scale the height of the stage according to which tab is clicked?
I have to adjust to a new size and my objects have to adjust accordingly. Is there a way to select multiple objects on separate frames and resize as a group?
There is a flash with stage size 800 x 600. I need to add a button on the flash. When the user clicks the button one time, it will resize to be 600 x 450 and all MC, texstbox, button insides the flash would be resized on scale.
When the user clicks the button 2nd time, it will resize to be 400 x 300 and all components resize on scale as well.
When the user clicks the button 3rd time, it will resize to 800 x 600 again.
I'm using the loadermax class from greensock in order to load an image which matches the screen's width and height, using a scaleMode of proportionalOutside. The problem is, if I resize the stage, the image does not scale with it. Is there a way to resize the image while maintaining loaderMax's scaleMode?
I am creating a website and I want it to be fixed size when the stage is bigger than 750 height so I am using no scale mode ActionScript Code: stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE; But if the stage would be smaller than 750 height I want the website to scale proportionally.
So I am using ActionScript Code: stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL; I am also listening for resize with eventListener everything works fine until i resize the browser smaller then 750 it executes StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL but after that resize eventListener stops calling the function.
basically just wondering if its possible to scale an MC about the center of the stage as opposed to the top left of the MC? I thought about setting the X & Y as stage width / 2 + MC width / 2 but cant as the user needs to be able to move the MC which is much bigger than the stage and zoom in on a point in the center rather than just the center of the MC.
I was wondering if it is possible to scale a UIobject (scrollpane) dynamically.I have set the scaleY of my Scrollpane but the problem is it stretches and also stretches the content that scrolls inside. Is it possible to scall it without the stretching occuring?
I am working through the examples in the PaperVision Essentials book and I keep getting this trace when publishing:INFO: Viewport autoScaleToStage : Papervision has changed the Stage scale mode. This is also making the object I am using smaller than it should be. Is there an easy way to disable this feature? There has been no mention of this in the book as of yet.
I have some external .swf's of different dimensions. I'd like to know if there is a way to load an external swf to the stage and force it to fit to 100% the size of the stage it is loading into? Also, is there a way to handle the antialiasing of the scaled clip to ensure smoothness / clarity. The swf's contain both vector and jpg's and when scaled down appear jaggy.
I use Flash CS4 and most of the explanations you find online are for CS3.I used a mechanism once in HTML that set the flash site to 100% width, 100% height, which did scale it but there was no maximum limit and all the content got scaled equally. I would like to do it like in the HP above, where certain elements are differently scaled.
I've learned how to link XML to my FLA and have it populate info boxes. Its easy to do this at the state level but I'd now like to do this for all the counties in the US.I'd like to be able to mouse over a state and get information pertinent to each state (this I know how to do). When one clicks on the state, they'll then fly-in to a more zoomed level where they can see county-level information.Should I build this so that clicking on a state simply loads a new FLA specific to that state and its counties? This seems easy but clunkyIt seems smarter to have all the info in one FLA. When you click on a state, you'll zoom into that states level and then have the ability to click on counties and get their infoDoes anyone have suggestions as to what I should learn next to start making this thing scalable (i.e. how to click on a state and zoom-in)?
Does anyone know how I can retrieve the "ORIGINAL" stage height and width that was set during compile of an Air/Flash ApplicationI have set the Application to compile to 1920x1080;I have stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL;and stage.nativeWindow.maximize();But when I trace stage.stageWidth I get 1280 which is the resolution of the screen.I was hoping to get the 1920.I cannot use stage.width or stage.getBounds(stage) because this returns 6000. Due to items being masked off screen.
With the stage.stageWidth being the screen resolution, I was hoping I could use that and mathematically work out the original using stage.scaleX. but even with SHOW_ALL scaling the entire application, stage.scaleX returns 1EDIT: I know what "Show all" does, you do not need to tell me about it.I also know what stage.width and stage.stageWidth do, but stage.stageWidth is returning what I believe is incorrect in this example and need an alternative.
I'm just starting to program in AS3 and use it in frames on the main timeline vs OOP. Can you point me at some reference that would cover:-
1) If it is possible to scale a dynamically constructed object over a few frames in the time-line. I draw an object/shape on frame 10 and scale it up from frame 10 to frame 20, for example.
2) If I can control the depth of the dynamically constructed object. I draw an object on frame 10 and on frames 11 through 20 I have some line already drawn on another layer that I want to appear above or below the dynamically drawn shape. I can easily do both of these in AS1 but don't seem to see similar constructs in AS3?
I understand that, in order get an anti-aliased font in a dynamic text field, the most given advice is to embed the font. But that doesn't work for my project since we want to make it available in multiple languages, and there are too many fields that must be embedded, and it greatly increases the file size of just one scene.
The other option I have seen people use is to custom anti-alias, but for some reason, this option just is not working for me. I fiddle and fiddle with the sliders, and no change is ever made. We are only using Arial, so I am at a complete loss as to why I seem to get no changes in the text from this option.
shed light on what might be blocking me from using custom anti-alias in my flash files?
I'm trying to add some zooming functionality. The problem is that when you zoom in and out, it scales the MC up and down from where the registration point is. This means That when I'm far from the position of the registration point instead of zooming the in straight it also makes it appear as if you are travelling towards the registration point.
To offset this effect I want to calculate the amount of pixels I need to offset the Map by so that it appears as if you are zooming in directly.
So just as a test I've put a little ball inside the map(called "center") which I'm trying to keep in the center of the map.[code]...
I have a simple stage resizer.as file to just increases the background image scale when the window is enlarged. this works fine. however now I have uplgraded to CS3 Flash it no longer works. would this be an issue with my publishing settings somewhere?
I'm trying to make a text effect where on every frame the textfield increases in size and decreases in opacity. I'm using the scaleX and scaleY properties of my dynamic textfield to enlarge, but it's doing so keeping the left registration point fixed. I want to make it scale up radially outward, or with the center point fixed.
I'm developing an AIR app using CS3. I had previously made one AIR app without much problems. So I start a new file and fill out the AIR settings (found under Commands). But the damn thing keeps screwing up settings. Some stay saved, some don't. It also keeps wanting to keep 2 files for inclusion that don't exist and are not even named correctly.
And now, after trying to fix some of the naming, it won't even create an AIR app anymore. It says there's a missing SWF file, but I published first, multiple times and yet, it doesn't see the swf.
I have a flash banner rotater and I have little squares at the bottom that are dynamically created which represent the slides in the banner, for example: if there are 4 slides in the banner there will be 4 little squares. Each little square is a button and if you click on a square it will take you to the slide that it represents. My problem is this: When I try to add numbers to each little square by dynamically creating a TextField then the text overlays the square so the button doesn't work.
hello everybody. I have a very weird problem. Recently my Flash IDE started to mess up dimensions. I mean when I create a new document or a rectangle for example, even if I set the height and width to the same value the height is always bigger than the width... I tried re-installing Flash CS4 again but that didn't solve the problem...
I am having trouble with unload an loading movies. Basically I am loading a movie into a container, which works a charm[code]...
Ideally I would like to add that second movie clip into a container so I can position it correctly, but when I try copying the code I use on the first it doesn't seem to work...is it to do with the "root" bit perhaps?
