ActionScript 2.0 :: Create An Animated Button Which It Contain Movie Clip?

I have a movie clip which contain button in the library than I create an animated button which it contain movie clip, unfortunately after it publish, the animated button doesnt work.
I'm trying to create an animated movie clip button in AS2 using CS5. The button should fade in/out as the mouse moves over and away from the button.Lets say my frame rate is 30 FPS. When I insert a motion tween on frame 1, the timeline is automatically extended by 30 frames. I then select frame 30, select the button and change the alpha value to 30%. When I drag the head marker back and forth, the button fades in and out smoothly exactly as I wanted.But I want to create a motion tween between frame 1 and 10. So I select frame 10, insert a keyframe, select frame 5 and insert a motion tween. Then I select frame 10, select the button and change the alpha value to 30% like before. When I drag the head marker, there is no fade in/out. When the head marker is exactly over frame 10, the button is faded, but when it is on any frame between 1 and 9, it is normal.
I have two arrows that control an animated movie clip that has words scrolling vertically. When you click on one arrow it plays the movieclip forward, and when you click on the other arrow it plays the movieclip backward. I want you to have to keep clicking on the forward arrow to have it continue animating through the different words. I've place stop actions at the points I want the movieclip to stop animating but when you click the forward or backword button it never stops and just plays through the whole thing. [URL]
I want to make make a button out of a movieclip (on realease plays the animation) but i can't seem to get it right --' i tried to make a movieclip inside a button but it only works while pressing "click" and i want it on realease. btw i'm working on AS3 sorry if this is too basic i missed that class --' btw the mc is called "flip1".
Im making a flash game. And Need to have a menu (sized based on what they click, small medium large) referenced from a movieclip, and variables passed to it. Im using CS4/AS2. Is there a function i can put on my button to create a movie clip at a location?
How do I move / create a button that functions inside a movie clip?I have been creating a quasi-simple website following the tutorial provided by Lynda.com. Using I have created a functional site in which the buttons work so long as they are part of the main timeline. However if I take this functional button and drop it into a movie clip I've created, it ceases to function. Drag it back out of the movie clip and it starts working again. I am sure it's an action script coding problem on my end.[code]
Bit new to this and have been searching the adobe forums and google. I am trying to create a button that will play an imported MovieClip.I have a movie clip that I've imported into it's own layer (Layer1) Frame 1 I've given the MovieClip an instance name offoundationMovie.I've created a button and have that on its own layer(Layer2) above layer1, it is also in Frame 1.I've added a top (); action to layer2The video is not set to autoplay.I want the video to start playing when the viewer clicks the button. I know I've got to put some kind of event listener using AS3 in my timeline somewhere.I've found some code and I've been trying to work with it. i'm trying to create a animated button, when I roll over the button the movie plays and when i roll out of the button the movie continues playing animating back to its first position.The problem is it only works one time,if you roll over a second time over the movieclip the animation doesn't work again.

I am trying to create a button that when pressed will make an movie clip visible and set it to a specific position on the screen. When this same button is pressed a second time the movie clip will become invisible.
I have a movie clip that needs to move to a location when a button is pressed. I need the movement to be animated rather then just jump to the location. I think it would have something to do with affecting the movieclips _x and _y but i can't figure out how to make it animated.

I have created a gallery that loads pictures from the server into a movie clip within Flash MX. This works fine. Now I have been asked to take those pictures that load dynamically and allow them to be a static image so that they can be clicked on enabling the user to view them at an enlarged state.Can I create a button that talks to the movie clip allowing the pictures being loaded to pull a pop up window enlarging it?
I have this animated button that I created from a tutorial, but am a little confused at to how I could set a hotspot for the button, the button is just a white outline square, no background image, so the button is not completely filled.it only triggers when rollover line, am I making any sense.is this the easiest way to create an animated button in as3, seems like there is alot of script??
Flash CS4/Actionscript 3 I am trying to create a section for a site where mousing over a button will play a certain frame of a movie clip, which is sitting next to the button. Mousing over different buttons will play (and stop) different frames in the movie clip.
I followed a tutorial to have a movie clip work as an animated menu for a website. One of the functions is set up as follows:

So the animated menu is going to a specific frame in the movie clip while the site is going to the appropriate page. What I can't figure out is how to freeze the menu in the state that it goes to with this function so that it doesn't revert back once the mouse rolls out of the hit area. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
I'm developing a touch-screen Flash application for a shoe store, and it runs fine initially, but slows down toward the end of the day. I've been diligent with removing event listeners and so on. I've now narrowed the problem to be very specific - it's one section of the application causing the problem, and one part of that section:
- I have a main movie clip which contains the animation, which itself contains 5 nested movie clips, each with their own timeline. All movie clips have a stop action on the final frame. images are transparent PNGs with outer glow "filter" - the issue is not with performance as such, but with CPU increasing over time. Each time you play the clip, there is a small amount of CPU usage that 'sticks' and doesn't get freed up. What happens is that if you play the movie clip many (MANY MANY) times, then eventually it starts to slow down. Mac's Activity Monitor shows that the idle CPU usage is increasing slowly, over many times of playing the clip. It's insignificant with each play, but adds up over time.
You may be inclined to say: oh filters effect CPU, so it will be slow - but it isn't slow until it plays many, many times. Initially it's fast. I've uploaded a .zip with .app and .exe versions of my problem section. There are two files of each type: AutoPlay.app (& .exe): plays the problem clip repeatedly (I've just removed the final 'stop();' frame), so you can leave it open and come back in half an hour to see it slowing down. ClickToPlay.app (& .exe): Plays the problem clip once when you click the 'play' button, so you can click several times, let it return to idle, and verify that the idle CPU usage is in fact increasing.
I created a movie clip which plays ok. But when it ends there is a slight jump, if you will, when it goes back to frame 1 to begin playing again. Does anyone know how to make the transition unnoticeable from the last frame of a movie clip to the first frame of a movie clip?
Am I completely hallucinating or what ? That's several years I'm working with Flash, and today, i want to do the simplest animation ever, and it just doesn't work....I want to mask an animated clip with an animated mask (a shape animation), but every time the mask arrives at a keyframe, the clip restarts to the frame 1 !!I added a piece of code to see at which keyframe it is blocked, and at every mask keyframe, the code says 'TypeError: Error #1009: null property..
i tried following a tutorial to create an animated button. it's not functioning i originally had the animation in frames and it worked somewhat. if you test the links_1.swf, it functions as i had hoped but if you activate the button quickly, the timing gets messed up and the animation sticks. file:///Users/GS2/Desktop/links_1.fla then i tried to set the animations in movie clips and they won't stop. file:///Users/GS2/Desktop/links_2.fla i tried including the fla files for reference.
I have created a flash website, each button is a movie clip with an invisible button over it containing the following script

each page is also a movie clip and on release of a button its played. the problem is that when i press another button to play another movie clip 'page' the old content is still there.
Is there a way of reversing the page transition i have used to bring out the movie clip and then bring in the next movie clip.
What action script would i need to make a button in one movie clip goto and play a frame in another movie clip? Im not very good at flash but i've been trying my usual codes but it dont work..
