Flash CS4/Actionscript 3 I am trying to create a section for a site where mousing over a button will play a certain frame of a movie clip, which is sitting next to the button. Mousing over different buttons will play (and stop) different frames in the movie clip.

I am trying to create a button that will play an imported MovieClip.I have a movie clip that I've imported into it's own layer (Layer1) Frame 1 I've given the MovieClip an instance name offoundationMovie.I've created a button and have that on its own layer(Layer2) above layer1, it is also in Frame 1.I've added a top (); action to layer2The video is not set to autoplay.I want the video to start playing when the viewer clicks the button. I know I've got to put some kind of event listener using AS3 in my timeline somewhere.I've found some code and I've been trying to work with it. is there anyway to have a button play frames 5-10 on a movie clip inside the current frame, as well as skipping to...lets say...frame 10 of the scene?
i want to create a site where buttons go to different pages, but those pages have animations in and out.so if someone is in one page, and clicks a button to go to another, that page plays the "out" animation while the other page plays the "in" animation.
I would like play head of a movie clip to return to a certain frame of that clip so a MC inside it would loop. I now have: stop(); as the action.
View 2 RepliesOn my site I have 5 buttons for navagation along the top, when you go to the Photos section there is a button that appears on stage and, when clicked, loads an external swf onto the stage, no problems so far.If I or the user clicks this button to load this external swf onto the stage and then clicks one of the other navagation buttons to go to a different section of the site, that external swf doesn't disappear.

i have used a stop at the beginning on a blank key frame but i dont want it to play the video from the beginning i need it start playing from about half way in.the first half of the video is being used on a different section.
I am using Flash CS4 and i have made some short movie clips. I want one of them to play on frame 24 once and then the next on frame 48 ect. How would i do this?

the trick is.. i want the button to play frame 10 to 40 then after playing from frame 10-40 the movie stops and then play frame 80 to 100

I have a character, And in its movieclip I`ve got 3 frames (first has an idle pose, second a walking pose and third a running pose), each with a movieclip with an action in it.Well, what I wanted is that when I am walking with this character, and press the SHIFT key he runs.And I`ve got the following code

I have an invisible button and only one mc, the mc loops 3x then stops, this is defined with as in mc.
Now i want to play the movie from the invisible button but only loop it once. Which means i would like to play it from frame 1 to frame 215.
And also when u rollout i would like the movie to stop and go to frame 1.

but when I change to "gotoandPlay" the movieclip just loads from the beginning frame and seems like it doesnt check the time.

How I can make a button goto and play a frame of a movie clip. Basically the first frame is blank and when the button is clicked the movie clip will go to frame 2 and play. I'm also going to have some other buttons make it go to other frames.

I have a series of buttons that when clicked go to certain frames which all display different content. I have a unique movie clip on each one of these frames that has an initial play in, followed by a loop, and finally a play out for when they leave that frame.
I have it so the movie clip plays in and then loops, but I want the movie clip to play out when a user clicks a different button that leads them to another frame and other content. But because they can click the buttons in any order they like I can't specify the play out to the buttons.
Can I make the current frame's movie clip play its "play out" part when I switch frames?

View 0 RepliesOn Scene1 I'm trying to add some script that will continuosly recognize what the x axis value is and if it is greater than 600 it is supposed to play frame 1 of the movie, and if it is less than 600 than it is supposed to play frame 10. The code I'm using seems to work, but only at the initial startup of the movie. How do I modify this code to have it continually updating the shoot movie based on where the mouse is at on the movie?

What is the actionscript if i want to go to a frame in a movie clip from another movieclip? And also for future reference, how do you go to a frame from a movieclip/button to a frame in the main scene? Is it something to do with root?
View 5 RepliesThe movie clip is called "theScene" and I have it created on Frame 60 of a movie clip when a button triggers the playhead to jump and stop at Frame 60. However, upon leaving that frame, it will not disappear, so I want to unload it upon leaving that frame.I put in the following code across all frames of the movie clip in its own layer:

Ok I have created a function that tweens a box on to the stage and this function is attached to every btn on stage. What i can figure out is how to create a function to get it to go to a frame the movie clip that comes in. I have attached the fla and when you go to the main stage you will see a blk box off stage in that box in where i want when someone clicks the button it goes to a specific frame label.

So if I had say 4 buttons Home Gallery About Contact If Contact is clicked then I want the Home page to play (Which is a fade out) and then go to Contact Page (which will fade in). On looking into buttons, I understand that to get a movie clip to play when a button is clicked you simply place the movie clip on the buttons 'hit' state. Having done this it does not work? Have I read wrong? Also the movie clip has a background the full size of the stage area. So when I attach this to the button, the button changes size to the same size as the movie? (i.e. whole stage area). How do I keep the button in it's original size while still playing the movie clip with large background?

1) check to see if the movie clip is on a certain frame and if it is do nothing
2) if it is less than the 16th frame reverse the movie clip and play until it gets to a certain frame
3 if it is more than the 16th frame play until it gets to a certain frame
