i have situation in which i have some library projects, say
"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..
what could be the possible errors.
I have a banner ad which contains an flv player. Due to size restrictions for banners at the site, I've found a player which I think will do the trick (chrometaphore). However, the site in question does not allow anything more than the actual swf for the ad, so I cannot include the com folder for the player and need to include all AS3 code in the swf file. I'm not a scripting genius, and wonder what it would take to include all the classes in the AS3 file contained in the swf. Is it possible? Does anyone know where I can find a VERY lightweight player whose entire code is contained in the fla?
[edit]: It just occurred to me that if the flv is on a remote server, could the com folder and files also be remote? Currently, the path for the com files looks like this:

i m trying to write a generic code that, after completion, should work for around 40 lessons in the entire tool. making 1 main.fla that should work for all lessons, seems interesting but a challenging job. i can not find any thread or blog that wud tell me CAN I COUNT THE NUMBER OF SCREENS IN MY LESSON AND THEN AT RUN TIME MY main.fla SHOULD HAVE THAT MANY FRAMES. i will try to explain this through an example: in noun.xml, i calculated 30 screens, so i need 30 frames for noun.xml....whereas if in adjective.xml, i have 50 screens, i should have 50 frames......therefore, i need to calculate the number of screens in my lesson, and then dynamically insert that many frams in my application, can i do that...

I need a way to programmatically record what source files are consumed in an MXMLC compile.Ideally there would be a flag to pass to MXMLC to have it report the complete list of sourc files it is compiling, but there doesn't seem to be such a flag. It seems generally you just pass a main.mxml file to MXMLC and it goes off and compiles everything it needs to without telling you what it's doing. As far as I can tell, you also cannot explicitly list the files for it to compile; it will resolve references automatically and compile referenced sources without any way to control that behavior or report on it.
If the compiler cannot supply this information and a user cannot control this behavior, the only other option I can think of is write my own source code scanner for MXML that will traverse all the references in a code tree to give a report of what MXMLC should be compiling, though that's obviously error prone and certainly not something I'm looking forward to.

The Temporary Internet Folder size continues to grow seems to exceed the limit of 8MB - automatic recycle. When and under what conditions does IE delete files from the temporary folders?
View 1 RepliesI'm just beginning to learn actionscript (I'm using Flash CS4).There's this little project I'm working on as part of my learning activities.I have a folder with 12 jpgs and I want to randomly load 6 of them into 6 mc's that I already have in my stage. I say randomly because I would like to have different images everytime I play my little movie. I know that if the jpgs names where somewhat serialized (i.e. "pic1.jpg", "pic2.jpg", etc.) I could easily do it by creating a variable to contain the numeric part of the name and concatenate it with the rest of the name (or something like that).
The name of my jpgs are pure strings (like "basketball", "soccer", etc.).Can I (via actionscript) read those names and push them into an array even though the names are pure alphabetical strings?If this is possible, I think I can figure out the randomizing after pushing the names into the array.

At the moment they load in 1 at a time, how can I make it so they all load at once in a horizontal row with a whote gap between each of them?The whole point of this is so the user can just upload files to a folder and not have to touch any script etc.The plan is to put them into an infinate menu (that part is ready, its just the first bit thats causing me problems).

I have dynamic number of files inside a folder. Every file has 2 variables in it vt11 and vt11s. I need a script that checks if the variables in the files have certain values and if it has this value than it counts this file. Basically what this script does is that it counts how many files in the folder have the same 2 variables in it and than displays this number in the text box. The above script always shows 1, no mater how many files with the same 2 variables are in folder.
