i need to disable all buttons on my website (flash) at a certain time. At the moment i no that
button.enabled = false
will disable the button...I need to do this with about 10 buttons. Is there a way to disable ALL buttons in a more convenient way?I thought of looping i, button1, button2, button3..But my buttons are not named like this, and would not be suitable to do so!
I've set up a scroller that scrolls an MC up or down with two different buttons (up and down). When you press up, the MC rises 390 and when you press down, it lowers 390. The issue I'm having is that if you hit the button while it is scrolling, it screws up the scroller and scrolls off values. Here is the code that I'm using:

I'm using this script to go between sections with a fade out before loading the next section...

menuButton1.onRelease = function() {-code]..... which works great, playing the "out" fade-out before loading the next section, but if for example the fade-out takes 8secs, if someone presses one of the other buttons before its got to the end, it plays from the "out" label again. So if someone gets inpatient and just starts clicking away they will just keep looping the fade-out and nothing will load.
Is there a way to disable the buttons after pressing for long enough for the fade-out, but then become active again?

but i've just been learning what i can from the net. anyway, a friend of mine bought a flash website template off the net and gave it to me to modify for his wife's business (it's a spa). so i've got it all done and they are wanting to upload it onto the server for the grand opening this weekend, (even though i haven't been paid for doing the work yet).so i was wondering if there was some sort of actionscript i could insert so that the website will only play for a specific time (lets say from 5:00pm on 4/31/09 thru the weekend, to say... 6:00am on 5/3/09.

I have two layers, one on the bottom (the background) with some buttons on it. The second one, on top, is a movieclip of some smoke that is passing over the background... (to still see the background, I set the smoke layer to Screen - blending mode). So now I can see both layers. but of course the buttons dont work anymore because of the layer that is on top... Now, the question is, how can I disable the smoke layer to access to the buttons? There is a way to do that?
View 2 RepliesI am working on my first Flash website for my photography, and along with placing watermarks on my images, I want to disable the users ability to "Right Click", and other saving options.
(By the way, I do not know if this matters but I am using "Adobe Flash CS5", on a Mac, running the most up-to-date version of "Snow Leopard". Also, I assume in-order to disable "Right Click" and other saving/downloading features I would have to enter some code; Can you either post the code, or put the website where I can get it?)
I have a simple website that I am making in Flash. It is four pages and the backgrounds are in one long horizontal sequence.So each page is 1000px wide, so the entire photoshop file which I imported into Flash is 4000px wide.
I made buttons so that when the user clicks, Flash moves to that area of the long photoshop file.I did this using frame labels.
Here is the problem. Right now the pages are jumping one to the other and I want them to move fluidly like a motion tween (which I have set up, but does not seem to be working). The reason I made one long file was because I wanted to be able to do this.[code]...
I designed a flash banner with buttons. I am trying to get those buttons linked to other pages in my website. I have tried several methods but none appear to work. The first thing I tried to was to assign the buttons to my other webpages through using the behaviours under the windows tab in Flash CS4. It worked when using the publish preview option (preview in flash) and choosing Flash, but when I went to add the banner to my webpage through Dreamweaver, the buttons would not work. I tried another method and used actionscript 3.0. I kept getting errors.

I have been building a website in dreamweaver, but have flash buttons which work fine. But the banner I have made in the page just has a white background. When I export it in flash it works, and when I preview in the dreamweaver browser it still works. I do not know what I have done wrong. Is the coding in the server wrong for the flash?
View 2 RepliesI am building a website that is all in flash.In the first frame there are 6 buttons. Each button has a code to go to a different place in the timeline, where something happens. For example, one of the buttons has this code:

And so on.Everything happens on the same timeline.When I publish the movie to test it (ctrl+enter), everything works great.The problem happens when I upload the file to my ftp and try to view it online. In that case, when pressing one of the buttons, instead of jumping to the place in the timeline where it should go, it just continues on to the next frame on the timeline. So for example if I press the "web" button, instead of going to the label "web" it just continues on to frame 2 in the timeline, and then 3,4,5 and so on until there is a stop(); in the actionscript.
After the first press though, it goes back to working fine. Meaning, the second time I press the "web" button, it will go to the "web" label, and from the second click onwards everything works great. it's just the first click on ALL the buttons that doesn't work, although it does work locally...
Is there a code in actionscript 2.0 for flash cs4 to disable left-clicking in IE on a flash swf embedded in an html page...the movie does not contain any buttons, but calls an xml file which contains path to images to be displayed. I tried using another swf file to call the original one (since original one I have only the swf available to use, no fla) but although it works fine in firefox, in IE it still allows users to click on the flash, and also changes to hand-cursor, while should have been the default cursor in use by windows, and no clicking (except right-click)... code is as follows:

I'm setting up a website and im using flash as a menu, but my problem is when I click on a button to go to a new page it redownloads the flash files, not just the menu but also my flash banner.
This only happens the very 1st time i click on the menu but its still very annoying having to wait for it to redownload again when it should already be there saved.
The problem does not happen if I use the html links on the page just the geturl links from flash.

Can any body make this timeline script,, like if there is a mouse rollover then the timer should fail or timer should not work or disable.. 4 frames i am looping with 4button scripts ,, during my mouse rollover on them should disable the timer delay..
I have a dialog box object, every time a dialog box is created I want to disable clicking on everything else until it's closed. I was thinking about doing ...mouseChildren = false;, but because the dialog box is a child of that itself it wouldn't work out too well. Is there an easier way to disable mouse events on only certain things? I know I could add this as a separate child directly to my main displayobject, aside from the rest of the GUI, but is that the best way?
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to use ActionScript to disable all buttons in a movie at the start of the movie (or at any given time in the movie), and then re-enable them at a certain time? I'm using Flash MX (only version I have access to), and I know how to get to the ActionScript panel and use it for basic things like stopping/playing a movie or jumping to a certain frame, but I haven't figured out much about ActionScript beyond that.
(btw, what version of ActionScript does Flash MX have?
I have designed a website in Flash AS2 and it is nearly complete, but I have one big problem. On my main page, I have a line of scrolling buttons as well as a slide show which also doubles up as a button. All of these buttons link to FLV movies. When clicked, the movie page fades up to cover the entire stage.This is the effect I want and I like the way it looks, but the problem is, all the buttons remain active underneath the FLV as it plays.So if you accidentally click on the movie while its playing, it's still possible to trigger one of these buttons, causing all kinds of undesired chaos!Here is a link to the current swf, so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.

The tooltip manager seems to be an all or nothing solution. Is it possible to disable the tooltip for just one or two buttons?
During an upload I need to disable all buttons on stage except the one to cancel the upload process. I tried this but "mybutton" keeps on being disabled:

I am creating a spinning globe where I set up two movieclip buttons. One is called "europe1" and another is called "russia1". When you roll over "europe1" button, movieclip "europe_people" starts to play and button "closeEurope" appears. When you click on "closeEurope" button, the movie clip "europe_people" and the button "closeEurope" disappears and the globe begins to spin again. If you roll over "russia1" the same thing happens.
What I want to do at this point is if the user rolled over "europe1", I want to deactivate button "russia1" on the spinning globe until the user closes "europe1" by pressing the "closeEurope" button. When the user presses the "closeEurope" I want "russia1" button on the spinning globe to activate again. [code]...

The problem is the hidden sections (alpha=0) still have their buttons active...you can click them and I don't use buttons, they are movieclips with actionscript in frame 1...How would you make sure these are disabled?What I tried was to create a variable sectionFlag:Number=1; this would have a different number 1,2,3,4 depending on the current section and then if (sectionFlag==4){ execute code }however, the sob just wouldn't work, it would execute the code anyway!
View 8 RepliesI have several layers of scrolling BGs via action script. In between these layers are a set of simple buttons made via "button" symbols. Within the stage, the buttons are recognized, however, when I test the movie, the buttons are not recognized/activated by the cursor. My guess is that the scrolling BGs that are on top of everything else (NOT added via "addChild" in a blank movie clip below all other layers) are somehow "blocking" my cursor from reading the simple buttons "below" them.
For the visual aspect of the project, the scrolling BGs are needed both "below" and "above" the buttons, so I need a work-around for simple button use in this multi-level scrolling BG environment. (just to clarify, by "above" and "below" I dont mean vertically above and below, but rather "layered" above and below, so as to "cover" eachother).
