Jan 30, 2011I have been trying to embed a video from youtube into an SWF file. I have been looking at the various posts here and I found this actionscript code:

I created a movie instance on my stage and called it video_mc and pasted the code into a frame.
When I press ctrl and enter to test the flash document I get my page as expected and the youtube video appears,however I get the following message:
'*** Security Sandbox Violation ***
Connection to null halted - not permitted 'I had to remove this link so I could post this on this forum -my post count is less than 50- normally would have the youtube link to the video file
-- Remote SWFs may not access local files.'

Apr 20, 2010I am trying to embed a video file into my flash project and I want to to play till the end and jump to a different frame in the timeline. I tried to emport the video into flash and it says that the file is not supported. Can I not do it or do I need to convert the mpeg file into some sort of fla file?

Jun 21, 2010I have Background layer, Bkg_Image layer & Video layer. I have embeded the flv movie on Video layer. Though on stage it shows all the layers, but when I test the movie it shows only Background layer & Video layer. I can't see the Bkg_Image layer.
The Actions layer has external swf loading AS3 which is working fine. Only the problem with Bkg_Image layer which is imprortant for me.
When I test movie, I see as in the following snapshot (Just the Background_Image & Video):

Mar 17, 2011I have successfully embedded the youtube video in my flash code with:

However, the video plays with black bars on top and bottom even though it plays without those directly from youtube: [URL]. Even if I take off the scaling, it still has the black bars. How do I get rid of them?

Mar 3, 2010I have 1 swf file which generated through 3rd party tool.Now I want to embed this file into empty flash file and want to save as new, I tried with following options,
1) import option ( File > Import ) but it is importing only Images and symbols. I want my original file as it in new file.
2) loader.load(), but this will load my external file at runtime only and to work smoothly it require both the files.
I want same but in design time, so I can add some extra functionality to it.Is it possible to embed external swf file as it is in new flash file in CS4?

Feb 7, 2012I need to make a Flash animation fullscreen. After a bit of research it seems I can only feasibly do this via a browser, since the Windows 7 preview does not support fullscreen.

However, I'm having a problem embedding the flash file into a simple HTML document. The file is called "LaBoheme.swf" and is stored in the same directory as my HTML file. Hence, here is my code;

Oct 26, 2011I'm trying to embed several flash files (swf) into different html pages. These flash files vary in size between 6 and 20 MB. I want these files to start playing immediately once the page is loaded. I'm aware that the file sizes aren't really small and so they will require some time to load. What I would like to know now is if flash will automatically stream these files from the server and will start playing them or if it has to download these files before it can play them? I've only got a local dev environment atm so can't really test the behaviour on live.

Flash :: Flex - Statically Embedding Of Assets File Weight?

it looks like the resulting SWF size jumps up ~2.8KB (in addition to the size of any assets that are actually embedded).
So I have a few related questions:
Is this because flex_sdk/frameworks/libs/core.swc must be statically linked? Is there any way to get around this restriction, perhaps by cherry picking the necessary files and compiling them to a SWC file?? Note that in the app I am writing file size is critical.
Is there a command/plugin that would allow for the transcompiling of vector graphics (drawn in the Flash Professional Authoring Environment) into raw ActionScript 3 ?
Use cases compelling this feature are improved workflow - would allow designers to draw assets in Flash Professional, compile to an asset SWF, and then be able to embed those assets (versus having to take the time to load them at runtime, or going to the effort myself to write them in ActionScript).
Embedding Video Into The Timeline?
May 13, 2009Hey there. I'm very new to Flash CS3. I understand the basic concept of the timeline. I'm not a programmer and I just want to create a FLASH movie that has video with audio and some text animation that I can add to my website. I have successfully created some very simple flash movies without video. My problem is that when I embed an AVI file the audio quality degrades so much that it's unusable. The full length of the viedo is about 9 minutes. It was professionally shot in studio and when I play the AVI file it is fine. I tried chunking up the video into 3 minute segments but that still didn't fix the audio quality. I then separated the audio from the video in Pinnacle Studio and then embedded the video into the timeline and added the audio, and now I can't sync up the audio with the video.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Embedding FLV Video In HTML?
Mar 23, 2009I am trying to insert a flash video into an html page using dreamweaver 8. The problem is that my .flv file is on a shared network drive (We will call this Drive V). The other files (.html and 2 .swf files created by dreamweaver) are on our intranet server (which in on a different network drive, which we will call Drive I). We don't want to put the .flv file on our intranet server (Drive I) because it would create bandwith problems. When I do it this way I can't see the video. Is there another way of doing this other than using dreamweaver?

Nov 8, 2010On button clicks , I have used movie clip with top registration as base container [ gpageContainer_mc] and i have added and deleted pages to it using similar code for all buttons .
These pages are also movie clips with top left registration[gpage4].

This works perfectly fine for all page navigations .But, the audio persists when I navigate from a page which has video embedded in it .I am able to see the new page but still I hear the audio in the background .I have used file -> import video option to embed video on my page . I didnot add any action scripting for playing the video as these had come when I imported video file and choosing skin for it .

Jul 27, 2011I have created a SWF file using Flash that loads an FLV file on my local development machine.When publishing the SWF file and generating the appropriate HTML, I can successfully load the video by opening the generated HTML page that Flash creates.However, when placing the generated HTML code in my View,the Flash is loading, but the video is not playing.I think it's a reference error to the location of the FLV file, but I've tried every combination I can think of.I placed the SWF and FLV in the corresponding View folder where I want the video to load, but to no avail.

I am wondering if there is some skeleton code (combined with development approach for videos) that someone has figured out to do the following: If flash is available, use it If not, try html5 video ogg format If that doesn't work, try html5 video h.264 format If that doesn't work, try html5 video webM format Based on what I am seeing, am I correct in thinking that now, in order to accommodate all users on all browsers, a video needs to be published in 4 formats? If so, this HTML5 video thing is an epic fail!

Web Development :: Embedding Video Content Via CMS - Format?
Apr 12, 2010if I set up the facility for people to embed video content on their site via their CMS (using TinyMCE editor), is there any reliable cross platform video format that should be used? From what I can find online, the only reliable way to embed and stream video is using FLV. Other formats seem to have caveats, e.g codecs required or quicktime updates required. Ideally I'd like to avoid this type of situation. If it is the case that FLV is the preferred option, then that involves asking people to encode their video content to FLV before uploading, so there is an extra step required here (unless I can set up the encoding in the back end, but this might take a while to process depending on the size of the video).

[URL] what i would like to be able to do is when embedding my flash file with the empty text field, put a "?" after the .swf and then put something like "url" with that, in the actionscript i would have it set to go to: [URL] so if i did myserver.com/test.swf?url=ben the flash file would load, and whatever would be in: [URL]would load into the text field in the flash i would already have the url labeled, just need to place the name of the txt file in the .swf? and then it would load properly
