I am working with the listbox component and trying to find out the index of the top item that is displaying.Obviously this is 0 by default but if the scrollbar has moved down then this will change, I just can't find out how to get the value!

My problem is that as I have make the buttons appear whern the item in the listbox is clicked, they are attached to the movie clip and so dont work.I think that one way around this would be to define a seperate hitArea for the listbox item so that this does not interfere with the buttons when they appear

View 2 RepliesIn a spark list I could use the change event to find out which item has been selected or deselected. The dispatched IndexChangeEvent object has the properties newIndex and oldIndex holding this information.
But with multiple selection allowed this doesn't work anymore because newIndex and oldIndex could refer to indices of still selected elements.
A solution would be to copy the selectedIndices vector to another variable and compare this variable with selectedIndices after a change in selection, but this seems to be somewhat complex.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way two get the index/item a user is deselecting while other elements are still selected?

What I want to do is, when I select an item in the datagrid, the selected item of the dropdown should be the correct one (the one which has the field idCompSuperioara equal to the third element in the selected datagrid row).
I'm creating a mobile app in which I need to show a calendar with months at the top. The months are part of a component that extends from SkinnableDataContainer (and has some custom scrolling/behaviour - which is why I did'nt use a spark list). I need the months to be shown as a 'trapezium' shaped tab and so I'm using a png image as a mask in the item renderer for the component.
When the mask is not applied, it all works well - the months render, the list/data container selection works when I click on a month and so on.When the mask is applied, it renders well, scrolling and everything else seems to work well - but when I click on a month, nothing happens visually. And from the trace statements in my code, it appears list item selection is not changing. Looks like mouse clicks are not working.

I have used states in my application.The thing is I have made the first item in my list to be selected. so I gave like this,

this works fine.The problem is when other item is selected the first item does not change its state,it remains in the selected state until its clicked.My code looks like this,

View 1 RepliesI've been going crazy trying to figure out a couple things, spent the last few days scouring the forums and my understanding of actionscript and php aren't advanced enough to understand what I need to do.I have a very basic contact form (one I've successfully used before) that I thought I would adapt for a new project (to include a couple listboxes).In Flash, visitors enter name and contact info, then we want a listbox for them to select an event on a specific day, then another one that they select a time (both listboxes will be populated within flash, so no dynamic loading).
They hit Submit and the form information is sent to our email address using php.The first difficulty I had was how to capture the selection of the listbox. I don't know much about actionscript, but I thought that would be pretty straight forward and was hoping I'd find something in the community to keep it simple for people like me.
Then to send it to the php email document, I'm not sure how to treat it the standard text is easy to prep for php but I'm at a loss on the listbox-selected items.Right now I try to fill out the form, I hit submit, and get a message: undefined.I commented out the second listbox so I could just focus on getting one to work, but I'm not sure which stage I'm doing it wrong.[code]I think the php is good, and pretty sure I just don't know what I'm doing with the listbox selection.
