View 0 RepliesI am trying to write an AS3 flash app I made in AS2, and I can't figure out how to add an MC from the library onto the stage. In AS3 I would just give the MC a random class name and then use:[code]but in AS2 this throws the error: the class or interface 'class' could not be loaded.

The following script works perfectly, but I can't get the library item (which is a mc, class "helmet") to display. Do I need to import additional classes to display the mc?

I have been assigned a task to edit someone else's Flash movie (I have been provided .fla source).The movies is extremely complex and I need to replace some images. How can I find out on which layer/frame does a Library Item appear on a Flash movie??

View 6 Replies I have a large library that I am organizing of vector only files, some imported from Illustrator.
When I re-name some of the items other Movieclip items in the library lose their contents and all that is left is an empty symbol.
I repeated this several times and tried to find workarounds. Like duplicating the symbol. This worked for the one item but then it deleted another symbols contents.
i am tring to check the values imn my array but for some reason the hit is never trace. So is the value o0f cat not found in the array. if not what do i do to find the value cat

I am working with the listbox component and trying to find out the index of the top item that is displaying.Obviously this is 0 by default but if the scrollbar has moved down then this will change, I just can't find out how to get the value!

So if I drag a image called 'imageOne.png' onto the stage, I want to be able to access its name, 'imageOne.png', and pass it to a Extension for Flash that I'm building. I know I can get details from the library, but not from the items selected on the stage.

Only now I have a button inside a movieclip. And Flash cant find my button from the mainstage. I tried

In a spark list I could use the change event to find out which item has been selected or deselected. The dispatched IndexChangeEvent object has the properties newIndex and oldIndex holding this information.
But with multiple selection allowed this doesn't work anymore because newIndex and oldIndex could refer to indices of still selected elements.
A solution would be to copy the selectedIndices vector to another variable and compare this variable with selectedIndices after a change in selection, but this seems to be somewhat complex.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way two get the index/item a user is deselecting while other elements are still selected?
