ActionScript 2.0 :: Generate A Link That Will Send The User To A Page?
Aug 21, 2008
how or where i could learn about embeded links. In other word, i want to generate a link that will send the user to a page where my swf will be, therefore nobody can come and get the source of my file or even decomplile it.
it's possible to have a user generate a file (.txt is fine), using a flash module i created, and based on their answers to certain questions within my flash module, all created in flash cs3.
i have created a flash animation for my homepage, i want to make part of that flash animation a "enter" button so when clicked would go to my page 2 on my website.
i have never done any script before and only used dreamweaver on a mac. is there an easy way to create this button to link to my next page and to stop my file to stop looping?
I've created a flash naviagation menu and currenlly my links will open a pop up window. I don't want this. I want it to open the link in the same window. Here is the code for one of the links:
var home:URLRequest = new URLRequest("index.html"); function homeDown(event:MouseEvent):void { navigateToURL(home,"_self");} button_home.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,homeDown);
How do i change content on a page each time a user visits or refreshes the page? example: the icon on kirupas header changes when the page is refreshed or re loaded. I have searched using dynamic content, but didn't quite find it...I only want to change 1 image..
Let me ask how to program an html page to move to a new web page on user's clicking an item of an embedded flash movie? But , in detail, I actually want to do a little different thing. I want that the parent html page remains there ,instead I want a child html frame has a new page after user's clicking the list item of the embedded flash movie.
I would like to create my page links so when I roll over the text(link) enlarges and then once pressed a swf animation plays.When it stops it automatically directs to the desired page.
Sorry for bothering you with questions like these, but I've never worked with Flash before, so I've got no knowledge in as3. So I'm trying to make a full flash website, and I've read some good tutorials on the net, but some of the script codes the tutorials provide doesn't work. I'm trying to link a button to a page like google, or a page on the flashsite. I just purchased Flash cs4, so that might be the reason why the tutorial codes doesn't work..
I'm using AS3 in timeline. I have a three page movieclip (dynamic_mc). Each page is labeled p1..p3. On p1 I have an input text box named userName and button named next_1. On p2 I have a dynamic text box named greetings_1, an input text field named schoolName and two buttons (back1 and next2).On p3 I have another dynamic text box named greetings_2 and two buttons (back_2 and next_3).
On p1 user enters name, which is captured on p2. Once a click next button on p1, I get this error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at FlashCS4_Curriculum_fla::lesson9_pg6_dynamic_122/frame10() at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop() at FlashCS4_Curriculum_fla::lesson9_pg6_dynamic_122/goP2() Why do I get an error when using buttons? Is there a better way to capture input text?
Here is the code by page. //page 1 = p1stop(); var hisName:String; next_1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goP2);function goP2(evt:MouseEvent): void{ hisName =userName.text; gotoAndStop("p2"); } // page 2 =p2 greetings_1.text= "Welcome :" +hisName;var school:String; //next buttonnext_2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goP3); [Code] .....
I can't seem to generate any output when including the "link-report" compiler commands in Flash Builder 4.5. I've tried several different syntaxes that I've seen online:
But absolutely nothing gets created when I run, build, or debug the project. Other application settings perhaps? The project is relatively young and doesn't have many custom settings so I'm thinking it is maybe application or config related?
I am able to pass a variable from an html link that loads a separate html file and instructs the embedded file to go to a specific frame.But - I now need a link within an swf file on one page to open a new page and tell that swf to start on a specific frame and it is not working. Here is the code I use for the first example - works like a champ:
html file 1
Code:
Go here
html file 2 swf embed code with variable info:
Code:
// var so = new SWFObject("yourSWF.swf", "sotester", "500", "500", "8", "#FF6600");
My native application has this such a scheme system set up, however, the app is going to have to be called from an air for ios (flash) application. My question to the stack is this, how would I call this url from actionscript, and (if this is not possible), is there anyway I can do this natively from inside the air for ios application?
I know how to use AS3 to record sound from the user and enable them to save it to their computer. However, I would really like instead to allow them to either send it to an email address right after recording (without them having to save it to their computer first and find the file), OR to let them save it so that the site owner can access it (They would know that it was happening.).

I would like to make an input text field in flash as2. What I need is when the user write down an answer it will direct him to an html page I created. There are 3 answers and 3 pages, so they will write down one of the answer and when they will click "enter" they will be redirected. I understand you can do it with "if" statement but I don't know how!
I have a button that the user clicks for the purpose of inviting a friend to the app.I understand that this can be done via the js sdk: http[url].....However I am already using the facebook_as3_api, and I would prefer to avoid using multiple facebook api's. Does the facebook_as3_api have a way of doing this, and if not, why not?
I have a layer called "home_movie" and on that later on the end frame is a movie clip that plays, what i want to happen at the end of the animation is it to send the user back to the frame above they started at. which is layer: home_movie, frame id: main_movieopt but its not working.
I have made flash music player on http:[url]... - when the user has selected the songs to purchase and click's buy now, the user is redirected to paypal via a loadVars.send('https:url....') command.When I embed the flash player on MySpace or Soundclick for example,the redirect is blocked, and the player doesn't redirect.Is there a way around this, or an alternative to the lv.send method?
I would like to embed this flash file within an HTML Page. User finds my page on a google search. The domain is **here.com once the user clicks on the link, it tries to load the "gethere" page but immediately forwards them to another site. I found this code but I am unsure of how to use it.URl..
I've got a flash course that needs to pass the current screen number from the course to the mySQL database. The person who built the back-end built a php page that I can pass the number to and it will get written to the db but I'm not sure how to "send" that in the background.He told me that I just need to call the index.php page like: [URL]So, would I use URLRequest for something like that?
Code: var vars:URLVariables = new URLVariables(); vars.theData = data; var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("www.url.com/index.php/user/bookmark/"+slideNum);

I was wondering if there was a way to Link a button to open a program on my computer. I'm making an interactive desktop.... basically, and was trying to figure out a way to create links (or shortcuts) to a program using Flash 5, and having it open the program, or file.
