ActionScript 2.0 :: Get Around Using Java Script In The Html Of The Site?
Oct 21, 2002
I am trying to get around using java script in the html of the site. I found this script , is it possible to adapt this, see below?
'This script will detect which version of the player a user is using and redirect to an appropriate page. This script checks for the first decent build of the v6 player build 29. Just change the anmes of the destination files and paste this script in the very first frame of your swf.'
I need to load somehow the html code of a webpage A into a javascript string of another webpage B, on a different host. I know this is impossible to do with javascript alone because of the same origin policy, and I know I could do it loading the page via php on my server and then send results back to the user's client but I wouldn't be able to handle so many requests, so I need it to be done directly by the user's browser. I can use nearly whatever browser scripting language/applet framework common enough to be installed on the majority of my users' computers, like flash and java.On example, what if I use flash or java to load the external html code and then call a javascript callback function providing the source? Could this work?
I was wondering if its still necessary to build a html site aswell as a Flash Site? Or is there a definitive and failsafe way to incorporate html into my flash site? SEO is a very important factor for me. I read this article: url...by Geoff Sterns in 2006, resulting in the following[code]
I have this thread that I use in my html site but now I want to use it in my flash site ....I have tried every tutorial known to man but I can't get it to work ....the script is I left the java open and close off so it wouldn't load the stories .....
I am an amateur game developer working on a class project. I have created a game in Flash AS3 that needs to send variables to a Java Applet residing on the same HTML page. (The Java Applet is a separate interactive audio engine that I am constructing for my thesis work.) Both Flash game and Java Applet work fine on their own. The solution needs to run in a web browser, have not found a solution that encapsulates the usual three languages (ActionScript 3 > JavaScript > Java Applet) within a single tutorial, snippet of working code, or forum thread. I have tried piecing together countless combinations of AS3 > JavaScript and JavaScript > Java solutions, but have not yet found a successful combination. I have found an instance of AS2 > Java communication working, but aspects of the JavaScript source were not available for me to piece it together. I am not a JavaScript guru by any means, and have just recently begun learning AS3 and Java
I want my flash movie to respond to rollover type events for links on my website. The idea being that the flash movie will provide descriptions of the links when moused over, but if the user doesn't have flash the functionality isn't lost. What's the best way to do this (if it's possible)?
I have googled for this, but they give different answers that only confuse me.Here goes: I have an .SWF MOVIE that I want to show in my html website that I created with Flash 8.I want to show this movie on a certain page (page 3). How do I embed that .swf movie into a specific part on my page?
How can post html url, without going to the site? so far I have tested loadVariablesNum,getURL, myvars and SenAndLoad. getURL works fine, but I don't want that flash goes to that URL Basically URL itself sends data to database. Sending works fine with getURL
Each page is flash expect for the Content page. Now each page also has its own url without loading a new swf file. How is this done? Also how does the swf know what url its on to highlight the correct menu button?
I am still pretty new to the whole SWFObject thing and I have this code that is working great. but I have no idea where to put (or how to put) a link to an alt site for pc's and devices that are not Flash enabled... this is my current working code.
[Code]....
and say I want the user to be redirected to the address below if on a iPhone or some other thing that does not support flash.
i'm trying to make a quick and easy personal flash website in a short period of time, and i've decided to use 'pictobrowser' [URL] software to create a slideshow gallery easily (my flash knowledge isn't great and my time is limited!). basically it pulls photo info from my flickr sets and creates a slideshow- but all it gives me is some html coding and i'm not sure how to incorporate this into the flash file so it loads every time the page loads.
I have a site that embeds 3 flash movies in an HTML page. The site works in all browsers on Mac and PC except IE 7, IE8, and IE9. (I'm not worried about IE6).
Not necessarily my own website, but if you browse to [URL] and take a look at the scores/schedules area that has the left/right slider, is there a reason taps that usually register as clicks don't cause the slider to move? Is it a flash bug? Just want to know out of curiosity's sake.
I have a Mp3 player that plays or mutes the sound depending on if you click it or not.Now where i need help is that the site is a PHP based website and the player is obviously flash. Is there some way to create a cookie or session variable that stores whether you have muted the sound or not from page to page?
The problem is when the animation finishes and a "click here" button comes up, it takes several clicks for the button to actually work. It eventually goes to the url but only after multiple clicks, between 1 and 8. The hit box of the button is larger than the button itself so its not the empty counters in the letters or spaces between words.
I have an intro in flash to go to an html/css site. What I have right now is when the image is clicked on it jumps to a scene and plays the animation and that's it. What I don't know is the scripting afterward. I need to know what the script is to allow it automatically forward the visitor to the html site after the animation plays. The intro page is on its own page.Right now my code is on frame 1 and this is it:
I am using Flash CS4, I have been looking for a tutorial out there about full screen mode, but haven't find one, what want is something like this: http:[url].....I want the website, in html page to fit the screen as soon as the site loads, in, I mean as soon as the user enter the address in the browser, I want the sire to fit the screen like the URL provided above,
if there was a way to provide an option to view a flash site in html.
The site is currently built in flash, but have had feedback from people trying to view the site that they need flash player 10, is there any way to have a link option on the page that asks you to download the latest flash player, to view the site in html (html site has also been developed).
I've heard there is a package of software that allows you to create virtual URL's for a flash website.for example: mysite.com/contact -> maps to code in AS3 that chooses the contact page in the site.I think it also works 2-ways so that when the contact info is shown in the flash site, the URL in the browser's address bar also changes.
I have created a flash sit in flash pro. On one of my pages i have a bunch of thumbnails that i want to be able to scroll through and click on and have it open another browser window to an html page I have created.I have placed all the button individually in a motion clip, so I can fade them onto the page when I go to it, and I then have selected all the buttons and changed them to motion clips so I can scroll them.
I created an action file and placed it in its own layer in the first motion clip that all the buttons are on.I am getting access of undefined property errors on all the buttons when I debug.Below is what I have written, I hope someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. I am new to this.
// Includes and Imports. import flash.net.navigateToURL; import flash.net.URLRequest;
I'm trying to enclose an html site with a flash header and footer, the only way I know to do this is with an iframe. The issue I'm experiencing is a MASSIVE amount of excess space. look at [URL] to see what I'm talking about? This mega space was there before I put the iframe in however....how do I get that bottom menu to appear without having to scroll down to see it, whether there's an iframe there or not? Meaning, MUCH closer to the top of the screen. Here's my code so far:
i have created an animation and when saved in notepad as an html file everything looks as it should when previewed in any browser, however when i paste the code into my site via dreamweaver the animation dose not appear.
I try to make an intro animation inside a website, and when the animation is done or when you push the Skip button, it navigates to the index.html file from the site root.So I have in my site root the folder Flash, where the intro.swf is, and within the intro.swf I called the navigateToURL(new URLRequest("..index.html"), "_self"); method. Now it's not working.
I have an HTML page with buttons. Each button needs to have a getURL to open the Flash site, but then somehow, needs to also load the appropriate swf into that Flash site... My reasoning is because I have some scripts under my site that need to be in HTML (or PHP) for search engines, that way I don't have to do the whole site in HTML.. I hate having a HTML index page, but it's the only solution I could come up with. So, when a visitor selects any of the navigation buttons, I don't want them to have to select that button again, when the Flash site loads. how to do this for Flash 7 / AS 2.0? Or if there are any posts here about it?
