Here is the code I am curently using

I have an HTML page with buttons. Each button needs to have a getURL to open the Flash site, but then somehow, needs to also load the appropriate swf into that Flash site... My reasoning is because I have some scripts under my site that need to be in HTML (or PHP) for search engines, that way I don't have to do the whole site in HTML.. I hate having a HTML index page, but it's the only solution I could come up with. So, when a visitor selects any of the navigation buttons, I don't want them to have to select that button again, when the Flash site loads. how to do this for Flash 7 / AS 2.0? Or if there are any posts here about it?
View 2 RepliesHere is where I am at this juncture... I have a requirement wherein I need to render an HTML text containing an '' tag which embeds a video, for example:-
....
Now I need to render this video into my Flex Web Application. One way to do it, as I see, is somehow extract the 'data' attribute and put it as a 'source' for spark VideoPlayer. Is there any better way to do this? Also note that, I require to render all video formats (avi, mov, wmv etc.) and not just flv or f4v.
I am having a strange delay issue when clicking on a button. My code is simple and is as follows:
fight.onPress = function() {
getURL("pages/pageOne.html", "_self");
}
stop();
-fight is the instance name of the button
-the code is in the actions layer as it should be
-there is no other AS within the animation
The problem is when the animation finishes and a "click here" button comes up, it takes several clicks for the button to actually work. It eventually goes to the url but only after multiple clicks, between 1 and 8. The hit box of the button is larger than the button itself so its not the empty counters in the letters or spaces between words.
I am using Flash CS4, I have been looking for a tutorial out there about full screen mode, but haven't find one, what want is something like this: http:.....I want the website, in html page to fit the screen as soon as the site loads, in, I mean as soon as the user enter the address in the browser, I want the sire to fit the screen like the URL provided above,
View 2 RepliesI have a little Flash intro SWF i prepared and handed off to a friend who is implementing my intro animation into an HTML site.... The problem is that once the SWF (intro) finishes, there is a short gap (blank white page) before the actual HTML site loads. Is there a way around this? Is this something i need to code on my side (AS3) or is this a problem for my HTML/javascript buddy to figure out......or both.
View 3 RepliesI was wondering if its still necessary to build a html site aswell as a Flash Site? Or is there a definitive and failsafe way to incorporate html into my flash site? SEO is a very important factor for me. I read this article: url...by Geoff Sterns in 2006, resulting in the following
View 4 RepliesI have a page on my site that loads different flash movies I've made - . There should only be one link at the top. When a little square is clicked I call:
[AS]
_mc.unloadMovie();
_mc.loadMovie(path);
[/AS]
But if you click the link a bunch of times something funny happens - the squares start to come more and more. why?
I've been using these flash mp3 buttons, Wimpy Buttons, from for playing audio samples of cd tracks on a website for a record label. If there's more than 15 of them on a page, the audio breaks and won't play from any of them in any browser except for IE. I've noticed this in revisions 124 and 115 of Flash 9. I downgraded to revision 47, and it restored the functionality. I've tested this on multiple computers. Some XP and some Vista. On Macs it seems to be working fine with revision 124 in different browsers. I've also noticed this problem on other websites that are using various different Flash movies for playing audio--when there's more than 15 Flash movies on the page, the audio breaks.
View 4 RepliesLet me ask how to program an html page to move to a new web page on user's clicking an item of an embedded flash movie? But , in detail, I actually want to do a little different thing. I want that the parent html page remains there ,instead I want a child html frame has a new page after user's clicking the list item of the embedded flash movie.
View 2 RepliesI have a site where all the pages have a common SWF embedded at the top (Nav and banner), but the rest of the page is HTML.Everything is working fine, but I'm finding the 'independence' between the HTML and Flash is making for some sloppy transitions from page to page.I was expecting the SWF to be delayed, at least for the first page visit(and I have a preload routine inside the swf to make it's delay and appearance a bit more visually pleasant), but was surprised to sometimes find the SWF appearing and playing while the HTML content was delayed (resulting in a SWF floating in black).What I'm wondering is if there's a way I can do some sort of preload on my index page.BUT, not the standard one that I'm sure everyone would suggest (like the javascript image 'preload', or the newer 'css visibility' preload trick). The problem with the standard one is that it doesn't check to see if everything is loaded.What I'm after is a routine on my index page that invisibly loads some of the elements from my inner pages (common swf, maybe some of the images) and WAITS until it's done before moving to the inner pages (displaying the company logo and/or a load status in the meantime).Many people would suggest a preloader inside the common SWF on my inner pages (which I have), but the problem with that on its own is that it doesn't stop the HTML from displaying.
I'm trying to figure out a way to do a preloader (like those in a SWF, which loops until everything is loaded) that controls both the SWF AND the HTML.Recently, I found that you can use one swf to preload another, which would be a potential solution, as I could make an SWF on the index page whose sole purpose is to load (invisibly) the common SWF, displaying the load status and then loading an inner html page once it's done.Problem is, I have bee having trouble finding the coding for that, as most searches for preloaders end up being about standard preloaders, where it's monitoring the same SWF that the code is on, as opposed to controlling a second, external SWF.Can someone point me to or provide me with the proper coding/procedure for a preloader that controlls a second external swf or give me a better solution?
one?
I have a html/flash site now, . i access email from my site itself by giving the userid and pwd text box which i copied from the actual website hosting my email access. i copied the entire <form...></form> tag to my page and thus was able to put the name and pwd in my home page only and access the email in a separate window. now i have redesigned my webpage using only flash. i would like to know how i can implement the same using flash. as i have not much experience using action scripting i am a bit stuck about how you pass the hidden form variables. the below is the the exact form syntax:
...
when you go to the home.html page an animation will play from start and then stop at the end of it. However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"
I am trying to include my Adobe Flash CS3 movies on my HTML websites. The website is validated XHTML 1.0 strict. It works fine in IE and is valid. (IE uses the OBJECT tag) In Firefox, I cannot have my movie since the EMBED tag is depreciated-If I do have the Flash movie included to work in Firefox, it will not validate since the EMBED tag is depreciated. Is there any way to have it work in FireFox and be XHTML 1.0 Strict valid? My URL is:(Flash on top)

The problem is that swf object raises some events when it's rendered and I would like to force rendering even if swf object is not visible.

View 3 RepliesI'm looking to build a Flash site and would like to have a page for a blog so as to upload information, videos and maybe user comments (undecided of yet).
How would I go about this? Should it be done in Flash or would it be better to embed HTML into the Flash?
I made 3 seperate animations for my site (the only difference in them is the words used are different). Is it possible for me to make it so that the animations change with each person visiting the site - so lets say one person enters the site and sees the intro animation with (hypothetical) word "welcome" - the second time the site is visited, the visitor sees "willkommen", the third time its "bienvenue". Is that possible? How can I make it?

View 3 RepliesI'm noticing some unexpected behavior. Some time in the last few months, a change in either Firefox, the Flash player, or both, has made it so that Flash movies that are in inactive browser tabs no longer execute in real time. They appear to still execute, but only in bursts, and not in a predictable way. This is a problem because I develop a Flash-based (Actionscript 2.0, Flash CS3) multiplayer game that maintains a network connection and allows players to chat, etc.

View 1 RepliesHow can I build a site like this....
Each page is flash expect for the Content page.Now each page also has its own url without loading a new swf file. How is this done?Also how does the swf know what url its on to highlight the correct menu button?
how to place SWF Movies into a site and have them play in the same window you start them in. I am interest in having it be similar to the way has there videos, even though those aren't swfs. I'd like there to be a simply play button and when it is done the play button comes up again.
View 0 RepliesI'm using the Flash CS4 IDE, and the first page of my site takes a lot longer to load than I want it to. So I wanted to go through the varied images / symbols / movie clips / sounds and so on to see where all the memory is being chewed up. When I go into my library, however, I can see the Name, LInkage, usecound and Type of my elements, but no mention of file size and I can't seem to find any right click menu that lets me add file size to the list of details being displayed. Is there a way to make it show file size? Or some workaround? And are there any best practices to reduce file size aside from using symbols for anything that's used more than once and reducing image and sound quality?
View 4 RepliesI've been working on my first full blown flash site for a few weeks, tackling problems as I encounter them, and I've learned a lot...but sometimes the simplest things I cannot figure out for the life of me. All I am trying to do is have some flash banner SWF files play within the portfolio page of my site. I don't want them to open in a pop up or anything just play within the page when the link on my site is clicked. I figured it would act like a movie clip and I could just drop it onto the stage, but when I do that it doesn't look right, loops continuously, and is not interactive. How can I make this work?
View 0 RepliesI have to make a flash product displayer for the main page of their site. They don't know a whole lot about web development (but they know enough), so they keep asking me to do things that I keep telling them I can do.Well, I can't. What I need the thing to do is have the user hit a button, and the product change. They can also hit the back button for the last product. The previous and next product will be visible but not touchable. Almost like a scrolling wheel of products.
