how do i make sure my flash movies are clipped at their stage dimensions for html.as it is now, anything thats big enough to over lap or are off my stage still show up.all i want displayed is whats on the stage, and nothing else. is there a specific code i need to use? or is it just a check box setting that i cant find in my publish settings?

I've got a problem with it's animation being cropped by the width and height of its container, and I cannot for the life of me work out how to let it overflow outside its container during animations. There is also a weird problem I've just noticed that the top of the slider gets clipped off for some reason? who's worked with piecemaker, or something similar, or a css ninja see what the problem is? View 3 RepliesIf you set the stage.scaleMode to StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL, your swf may be scaled up or down, and may be padded on the top/bottom or left/right. However, stage.width + height always return the width and height as defined by your swf, and stage.scaleX + Y always return 1. As I understand it, resize events are not thrown. So how do I get the actual scale and dimensions?
I want them for two problems:I want to fill that padding on the top/bottom or left/right with something only if the user can see it.
I am drawing vectors into bitmaps and want to properly scale it so it doesn't look jagged (or fuzzy with bitmap.smoothing). Flash seems to do the scaling correctly when you cacheAsBitmap=true, so how do I recreate this?
In the Flash CS 5.5 AIR settings for iOS, in the General tab of a panel, there's a menu that lets you specify the target device:
-iPhone;
-iPad;
-(both) iPhone and iPad;
What happens if I specify the third? That is: I can't understand if I can use the default stage dimensions (iPhone dimensions) or I must eventually create a stage (and assets) for iPad (and it will work for iPhone too).

View 8 RepliesI am trying to include my Adobe Flash CS3 movies on my HTML websites. The website is validated XHTML 1.0 strict. It works fine in IE and is valid. (IE uses the OBJECT tag) In Firefox, I cannot have my movie since the EMBED tag is depreciated-If I do have the Flash movie included to work in Firefox, it will not validate since the EMBED tag is depreciated. Is there any way to have it work in FireFox and be XHTML 1.0 Strict valid? My URL is:(Flash on top)

View 3 RepliesI want to make the HTML dimensions a percentage (so it scales with the web browser) but the problem is when i do that, aspects of my animations which i dont want visible (that start outside of the sage) become visible on the page. And if i set the size in pixels or to fit the movie, the things i dont want visible are not visible, but the artefact doesn't scale with the web browser.

Some time in the last few months, a change in either Firefox, the Flash player, or both, has made it so that Flash movies that are in inactive browser tabs no longer execute in real time. They appear to still execute, but only in bursts, and not in a predictable way. The more I work with this program, the more weird stuff I encounter. I set up my .fla file as 700 x 400. I've been putting stuff on the stage and adding tweens, then when I test the movie, part of the stage image is cut off. I turned on the ruler, and found that the top of my stage is aligned at X 0.00 and Y -44.50. I drew a box the size of the entire stage, and its position is X 0.00 and Y -44.50, and the dimensions are 700 x 469. Can anyone tell me why my stage is larger than 700 x 400, and how to get the top left corner of the stage to be aligned at X 0.00 and Y 0.00?

i'm using AS3 and I'm trying to change the stage dimensions to get bigger when I press a button. This always traces the width/height of the content of the external crossball.swf file, not its stage dimensions. So let's say crossball.swf has a document size of 200 by 200 pixels and in it is a shape of 115 by 30 it will trace the last as the width/height of 'container'.Is there any way to get the stage dimensions of an externally loaded swf through moviecliploader?

View 1 RepliesI am loading the SWF just fine, but I want the SWF to fit the root stage exactly. What happens instead is that the external SWF seems to include white space from around itself.
For example, the author-set width of the Tanks game (an example file I was using) is 550px, but when I set the width of loadEvent.currentTarget.content.width to 550px, the game is resized to maybe 350px width. I have to set the value of loadEvent.currentTarget.content.width to something like 640 in order to get the game itself to make full use of those 550 pixels.

I have CS4 with AS3. I hard-coded values for cWidth and cHeight instead of getting them from flashvars because I am just testing in the IDE right now. Normally I would get those vars from flashvars.

View 4 RepliesI have one that's almost done and the stage size is 700x800 px. But I'm starting to worry if that's going to look too small? To change it, will be a lot of work - there's animation, imported Jpegs etc. As far as I can tell, in order for it to look correct in larger dimensions I will need to basically create it again from the ground up. So, I'd really like to get an idea of what the optimal pixel dimensions would be for ecards to run on multiple platforms.
I really want to do this and I don't feel like I can move ahead until I get the viewing size correct. I don't even mind redoing the card. I just want my future cards to be the correct size. I don't want to have to come back and redo them all. By the way, the cards are being made in Flash. The site itself will be created in DreamWeaver.
I have a simple page with 8 buttons. Each button has a mp3 file that is set to play on mouseover. Each mp3 is 2 to 7 secs in duration. My problem is, 3 of the med length files are getting clipped at the beginning by a second or so. The others are fine, even the longest at 7 seconds. I have tested the files in the many media players I have and they are fine there. But I can see in the Flash Sound Edit window that the files are missing the beginning of the waveform.I have tried extending the timelines, but they won't budge. I have made other projects and imported the mp3's with the same results. If I import as a wav file, or any other, they come out perfect. It is only the mp3's that get clipped. I have even gone as far as to remix and remaster the clips with a tad of silence at both ends, rendered at different bitrates etc with no luck.
View 1 RepliesI create a custom control in a FLA, and compile it to a SWC. It works no problem, even the ActionSciprt. When I place theat control in a new FLA, it is clipped. I only see the lower right, because it thinks the center is upper left. Adding a 2nd control then makes the first available. WHAT THE FUGK IS THAT ABOUT? Also, to move either control, you have to grip it by some new blue rectangly that is no part of the control. This, also, is way off center.
View 14 RepliesThe menu uses XML to load in the menu, so all the options are dynamical. If you click a button it loads a menu into the stage, but if i click an other it overlapse the old one... So i figured i need to unload all the other movies on the stage, how do I do this?
